My husband and I visited 621 this past week after reading some good reviews on Yelp. We chose it due to the proximity of the bowling alley, which is right next door.
When you walk in it seems like a bit of a rundown dive/sports bar. Not disgusting or unclean, but not really modern. The staff was very friendly and quick to take our drink orders.
I had the BBQ turkey tips which were delicious. I got a small salad on the side and their vinaigrette dressing was really yummy. My husband ordered the French Dip. We're both pretty picky about this dish, and he loved it. I took a taste and agreed it was really good. It does have a certain spice in it -- not sure what -- that some may not like, but I thought it really added to the dish.
The food was pretty cheap and overall we had a nice meal. Would recommend to people looking to try out some local fare for a good price.
621 Tavern & Grill had really great food, which I guess is what ultimately counts when grabbing a bite to eat. However, it took a good 15 minutes for anyone to greet us. We were told to sit anywhere, but then no one came to the table. We then went to the bar and were ignored by three bartenders all standing around not doing much of anything. When finally greeted, our one bartender was awfully miserable and hardly said hello. As a result, the bad service ruined what could have been a great experience since the food was, indeed, very good. The portion sizes were great for the price.
