Okay, so walking around downtown Oregon City (I know, what the???), I noticed this place has All You Can Eat spaghetti on Mondays for just $5. Not one to pass up a good deal, I decided to give it a shot.

First of all there's a bit of confusion because there are two doors side-by-side off the sidewalk and you're not sure which one leads where as it almost seems there are two different bars next to each other. They both lead into one establishment but in a weird kinda quirky way. The left door leads directly into the bar area, and the right door leads into a large dining area.

As I walked in the first thing I noticed was how quiet it was. There were about 8-10 people at the bar drinking, eating and smoking but virtually no noise was heard. I almost backed out at that point because it was a little spooky walking into a bar with that many people and no noise.

But I stayed the course and took a seat at the huge area that separates the two sections hoping to eat and catch a glimpse of the Monday night football game (more on that later). The waitress took her time coming over and seemed none too pleased to be taking my order. But I soon discovered that though it appeared there were two other employees, she was the only one waiting on people. I could then sympathize a bit with the attitude. I also discovered the reason the place was so quiet is because this is really more of an off-track betting location than a sports bar so most people were there watching their favorite pony or dog run, hoping to score some dough.

She brought me the beer lickety split and then took a few more orders for spaghetti before heading into the kitchen and make up our plates. I must say I wasn't really expecing much but when she finally brought out the food (spaghetti and garlic bread with a side salad), I was impressed. The spaghetti was nice and hot with lots of meat sauce on top and there was a very large helping. The salad was basically poured out of a bag with a little cup of ranch on the side (funny because she didn't even ask what kind of dressing I wanted).  Even though it was All You Can Eat, I could barely finish what she brought me so the $5 price tag was very reasonable.

As for the Monday night football game, there was only one television showing the game and it was a large screen TV in the corner of the bar. The problem was that if anyone in that area stood up or hovered at the corner of the bar for very long, you missed out on the action. Since there were about a dozen other sets around the place that weren't even turned on, I thought it a little strange that they would only be showing it on one screen. Eventually one of the 'regulars' seemed to have gotten fed up with the interuptions and turned on one of the sets in the dining area so the four of us in that area could watch with an unobstructed view.

I definitely would stop in again for the food, but don't expect much from the service or the atmosphere.
