Al's Supermarket

I grew up on meats from Al's and that's still where I prefer to buy meat from. They have great donuts too!

This place kind of threw me for a loop. When i walked in, I felt like I entered another dimention beyond that which is known to man. It felt like the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition...

The place is rather on the smaller side and it is an old place too. We went on a Sunday afternoon and this place barely had any people there. ON A SUNDAY FOR GOODNESS SAKE. I hate going to grocery stores in Chicago on a Sunday afternoon because of the crowds. There were only a handful of people here. I loved it.

The place was old but clean and the staff was friendly. I didn't have too much time to examine the prices but I had to pause a couple of time to do a double take and say WOW that is a good deal. It almost makes me want to move to LaPorte.
