Amadeus Cafe

it is called Don Dieguez Cuban restaurant now. authentic, homemade well seasoned Cuban food in a nice environment, apparently it is a nightclub on weekends sometimes and they have Latin dance music.. the food takes a bit to prepare but is good.

Amadeus Café is a great additional to nightlife activities as well as restaurants in Newport News. They serve Latin American cuisine, and they do it well. The staff is trained well and they are very attentive. They have regulars of course, but they seem to treat everyone well. The food is very good. They have an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet Tuesday through Friday from 11:30am to 2:00pm. Personally, I like the Arroz con Guandules (rice with a large... peas? I think is what they're closest to) and the Pollo Guisado (amazing chicken stew, er, the stew being the amazing part... not to discredit the chickens--some of them may have been amazing chickens, perhaps talented at something--but perhaps the majority of them are simply standard-issue, mediocre chickens).

Then there's the night time crowd... Latin music fills the air and there is dancing everywhere. And the regulars dress up for this, meaning to say, they dress to impress. And impress they do. I want to take Salsa lessons now. The energy is high, and this is certainly a cool place to check out.
