Please don't let my 3 star review dissuade you from visiting. Â The Anchor Bar is, after all, the home of the wing! Â The place has a lot of personality! Â The wings were awesome -- although don't be conservative, if you can tolerate heat, then start with "hot" (not medium). Â We started with "medium" and had to order a hotter sauce. Â Also, this may be a weird comment to make, but I don't like fat juicy wings. Â I need something a little crispier. Â But honestly, this was totally worth a stop and now my son has bragging rights to having visited the "home of the wing!" Â Bonus, they actually ship wings, which we may do at some point.
Review Source:I made a stop here during my roadtrip to Niagara Falls. The place is a cool chill restaurant/bar. The workers were nice. That night, we happened to be watching history being made while watching Nik Wallenda tight rope across Niagara Falls on tv. That was pretty cool since we were over by the fall earlier.
I had pretty high expectations for this place holding the title for inventing the first buffalo wings! Sauce was pretty good, however the chicken wings itself was just too dry for my taste. Overall, good place to stop by for a beer or two!
