My buddy and I were out on a motorcycle ride and decided that we wanted some BBQ. I looked on yelp and came across the Archie House. So we headed south and arrived a short time later. I was really looking forward to some good ribs. When I first walked in the door the first thing I noticed was the size of the place. This place was huge. Although, there were only two other people in the place. I was thinking they should have a killer bar. I was wrong, they had no liquor, other than canned beer. The waitress came over and we ordered a full slab of ribs! Minutes later the waitress came back and told me that they didn't have any ribs. WTF!!!! How does a place claiming to b a BBQ joint not have ribs, even though it was on the menu. I decided that they probably don't put much time or effort into any other smoked meat so I ordered a tenderloin and some curly fries. The tenderloin was ok, just didn't have much flavor. While I was eating the fries I pulled out a very long black hair from my mouth YUCK! All I can say is I am never going back to that place.
Review Source:I cannot sanction eating in a place that deems a energetic, willing-to-work-hard waitress too fat. Â It does not speak highly of how you view your employees or your customers for that matter. Â BBQ is not a Weight Watchers choice; most people realize that it's high in calories. Â I'm willing to bet that a LOT of your customers.....if you have any left at this point.....are overweight. Â You should be ashamed!
Review Source:We have been here twice now. The first time they did not have half of the menu available but the hamburgers we got were ok. The second time we finally were able to get what we wanted (BBQ) and it was not good. It was tough and my ham was not even hot. The wait staff was very nice though. They do serve beer but no hard alcohol which was a bummer as I don't care for beer. The friday night entertainment is laughable as most of the clientele is in their 70's and they play old country so they elders can line dance. It was great for people watching!
Review Source:We were looking for something new and different for dinner tonight, and boy did we pick well. Â What a fun place!
Located inside a prefab warehouse, this spacious restaurant served up friendly service and great food (chicken, steaks & BBQ are the focus), with a side of entertainment. Â
I had the prime rib, which was thickly-sliced, tender, and cooked perfectly. Â We also had a couple of brisket sandwiches that were promptly devoured, and the ribs were fantastic.
We were here on a Wednesday night, which happened to be line dancing night. Â Free lessons were being given in front of the stage and people of all ages were getting up to join in. Â Thursday night is karaoke, and Friday and Saturday nights have live music.
If you're on the south end of the KC area and in the mood for a fun dinner, it's well worth the drive to Archie to check this place out.
