Listen: what kind of a person would want an *untoasted* bagel when they order a bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese? Â I got my bagel home only to discover that the cooked innards sat on a cold, soggy bagel. Â Gross. Â I had to deconstruct my sandwich, toast the bagel, and reassemble it. Â By that time, the bacon, egg, and cheese had gotten cold, leading to a subpar eating experience.
If you're gonna assume people might want untoasted bagels for their hot sandwiches, at least have the courtesy to ask your customer to specify. Â Like: "Do you want that bagel toasted?" Â See how simple that is?
I read about many other places on LBI that are supposed to have the best bagels and I went to them first - passing by Bagels & Beyond since I didn't read much about them. Â
My husband stopped there and brought me back an iced coffee. Â It was the best iced coffee I ever had! Â He told me they had a lot of bagels there so the next day I stopped in. Â I was so impressed! Â So many varieties and I wasn't disappointed at all when trying the ones I purchased.
Never went back to another bagel place on the island ... this was hands down the best and my entire family agreed. Â
I did not have any issues with the folks that worked there either -- both of the women behind the counter were extremely nice.
While I agree with other Yelpers that Bagels and Beyond probably have the best bagels on LBI, I don't want to lead you to believe they are the great bagels we can get up north.
This place has a great variety of bagels, great selections of cream cheese, good coffee, a decent pastry selection, and they'll make you a decent TAylor ham egg and cheeses. Â Bagels are crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle...they are just SMALL compared to what I'm used to. Â
My favorite is the cheddar jalapeño bagel...I wish they made them at my bagel joint.
