The portabello for 1.00 for 1.00 burger night was fair. The turkey burger was probably the best in town at that price. That's great and everything but where they get you, is drink prices. My tab here always seems hilariously huge like it came out of nowhere. Their wines are not 10-15.00 per glass-worthy, and yet it really does cost 10.00 per glass. I'm so perplexed.

Place isn't bad. It is seat yourself which can be a pain when it is full. Place was hardly full the last time I went to watch football and we had our pick of over 2/3 of the place. Food prices are kinda on the high side and the quality is not all that great. They run some good specials on drafts and on Tuesdays they have dollar hamburgers after 5. I will pay 6.25 for huge draft but I refuse to pay 7 dollars for a shot of fireball whiskey. It is well located in the mall which makes it a nice place to hang out while the family goes shopping or to meet back up after shopping. All in all not great but not bad either.

$1 burger night is a pretty good deal.  The toppings are a la carte, so you might feel nickel-and-dimed to death when you start ordering your burger, but I assure you, it will be a lot cheaper than ordering one on any other day of the week.  I ordered the TURKEY BURGER; it was hot and delicious (see pic)!  Not the biggest burger on the planet, but I wasn't starving and the flame grilled flavor was heavenly.  I added mayo, cheese and tomatoes and the cost was $2.  I can definitely stand behind this burger for the price.  If it's cost was $8-9, I'd be pissed about it, in other words.

Why not 4 stars?  Because the bartender had the personality of a cow chip.  This lady wasn't remotely friendly and seemed like she just couldn't be bothered with us.  La Chica made sure to passively let her know as well by making earshot comments like, "Should we just go sit at a table?"  Then, she placed a second order with a different bartender right in our bartender's face, as an extra jab.  It was classic.

Would I return?  For sure, but we will be getting a table next time.  The bar service at "Bar Phooey" is for the birds.

Read my chica's review regarding her mini-portabella burger lol

Love bar Louie. Yea, it's a little expensive, but that's because it's worth it. Awesome food and even better drinks. Service at the bar was fantastic and the scenery wasn't too bad either. HIGHLY recommend,

This is not my type of bar, at all.  Barely ever will I go to a place like this. The little personality it does have feels a little stuffy and mundane. So why did I? Because, when I am about to see a movie, I feel the experience is more sensational when I've had a drink or two. There's a couple places to get a drink at Countryside Mall now, which is nice. So, I am grateful in that regard. However, my Stella was watered down. No question.  So, no thanks.  It was so obvious that I just stared at my glass feeling a little perplexed. Why ACTUALLY do this? Poor beer. Fortunately, it was happy hour so the price was less, kind of. I don't have much reason to go to Bar Louie to eat or drink again when there are still a few other options at the mall.

I was here for a staff party, so we had a giant party of 25+ people. That being said, the servers were awesome and we never waited long for anything. Really great job.

Our appetizers were amazing. We had some Asian dumplings, warm pretzels with 3 different sauces, hummus and pita, and buffalo chicken. Everyone loved all of them.

When our meals came out, I think they could have been great but everything was overlooked. My ahi tuna, other people's burgers, chicken, etc. I'd say this is due to trying to get so many orders out at once and probably isn't typical. It was tasty but overlooked.

Fun place, and very nicely decorated.

Truffled popcorn on the menu is a nice touch.  The drinks are good and they have hamburger night, where you can get burgers for a great price.  I only gave it a three star because the atmosphere ok and everything else was pretty good but definitely not great.

whats special about this place is the ingredients that Bar Louie uses in their food and their drinks...nothing artificial, all fresh and made to order. My mother and I have eaten here 2 weeks in a row now and were amazed at the specials they had going on...last week BOGO drinks and today was BOGO new food item. The service is stellar, food amazing and fresh and such a great value! The blackened salmon sliders are a MUST try. 3 large fresh salmon sliders (yes fish, not cakes!) with ripe tomato slice, fresh spinach and pesto mayo along with a nice serving of fresh cut french fries. Also have had the BLTT which was delicious. It is worth a trip and we drive 20 minutes to get to Bar Louie but it is definitely worth great food, terrific service and nice atmosphere. The only hard part is picking a drink because they have such a nice selection of cocktails, martinis, and mojitos!

Absolutely the worst dining experience of our lives  compounded  with an unsanitary  beat up and offensive server named Nelson. A must stay away from Restaurant ...

Bar Louis is exactly what you'd want from a place with the word "bar" in the name. I've eaten here a couple of times and it's bar food at it's finest. The must order loaded tots are where it's at. (And by that, I mean they are fatty and delicious!) Think crispy outside, soft inside tater tots smothered with cheese sauce, bacon, and japs. Yum, yum, yum!

The trio of chips and dips is awesome too. Creamy quac, smooth cheese dip, and fresh salsa with toasty tortilla chips..mmm...hungry just thinking about it!

The bar serves up great drinks with a nice variety of brews on tap. The service has been quick and you can always catch a game or Sportscenter on one of the many tvs.

I think the prices are about what I'd expect while dining at a mall bar. They certainly aren't cheap but again, it's not that surprising to me considering they have a location at International Plaza. If you want cheaper food, head to the food court.

So my good girlfriend and I decide to pry away from our hubbies and kid's and do girls night. After a fun eve at the Straz, we drove back to Pinellas. It was late and nothing was open. We were close to home and saw Bar Louie's bright sign. We sat on the patio at an inviting table with a little fire pit. The service was mediocre, a washed up slacker in his late 20's was serving us and acted very awkward. ( I too am in my late 20's).

It was a bit over priced, but I can't complain considering it was the only non fast food joint open in my area at that time. The Shrimp Bruchetta was great and so were the drinks. (Though I would have preferred them a little stronger for that price!)

Overall, it's not bad for a late night bite after an outing, but very over priced and mediocre service.

I can understand their prices being a bit higher because they are in the mall but they need to pay attention to details. Like, don't serve food on a dirty plate. That is inexcusable! The cook plating the food and the server should have noticed it. So we sent it back after waiting on the waitress for 5mins. They made us another chicken nachos and this time they forgot the chicken. I think the manager came out with a small plate of chicken. Really?  If I was the manager I would have taken the plate back to the kitchen for them to do it over.

I believe they can turn it around if they read the reviews and take the necessary steps to correct the issues. If they do, they will last. If they don't, I predict an early demise.

Bar Louie is the ultimate happy hour place.  I wish the rotated their drafts at this location (they only seem to change out 1 or 2), but at least most of them are good choices.  The calamari is pretty tasty and so are their mixed drinks.  The best is Tuesday nights for $1 burgers... not so much for the beef burger, but for the grilled chicken or turkey burger.  A generous piece of chicken for $1.

I had the the Voodoo Chicken...I guess they call it Voodoo Chicken because they under cook the chicken. It kinda looked pink in the middle but it was hard to tell because it was so dark inside the restaurant. Anyway I guess my current stomach ache proves I was right. Otherwise this could of been a good dish. Me and my wife were on the waiting line for The Red Robin next door and while we waited we got a menu from Bar Louie and decided to go here instead. I dont know...I might return and give it another try. I'll just order something they can under cook without making me sick like there Tater Tots.

Initially I was really excited that Bar Louie was opening up on this side of the bridge.  I've usually received good service at the International Plaza location but not here. The staff was forgetful - I had to ask 3 times for a glass of water at the bar to accompany my cocktail for example. It wasn't slammed either and they had 3 bartenders behind the bar. The doorman was also a bit rude when we overstepped the outside patio line with our drinks by a foot. I get that they need to keep things up to code, but you can be nice about something  as trivial as that.

The prices are high, especially given what you get. Perhaps the only time I was at the other location was during Happy Hour so  that is why I was taken aback when our bill was so high.

It's great that Countryside mall is expanding but this is one place I don't plan on rushing back to.

Love the location and love how Countryside Mall is turning into a nice place to hang out after dark. I've tried Bar Louie twice but always had the same outcome. It's too pricey for what you get.

Service has always been a little lacking and I wasn't at all in awe over the food or drinks. I admire the interior and the patio area but wouldn't come here often for drinks or the food. I'm not in love but it's a chill place to sit around and have a few catch up chats with friends. The music tends to get a little too loud but I really enjoy sitting outside.

I was expecting something a little more than just ordinary but it never happened. My bartender was pleasant and quickly replaced a glass of vinegar with some wine when the oxidation level was brought up. The staff were smiling and attentive but it still felt a lot like a visit to Chili's. Not that a visit there is bad it's just that the hype had me believing I was in for something better. So would I go back , yes like I would go back to the home of "I want my baby back, baby back, baby back ribs"
I tried the Portobello mushroom burger just because you don't see it often on a menu here and was disappointed with the bread though I have to warn you that the the roof of my mouth vaporized as the 'shroom was definitely just off the grill. Two guys, two burgers, two beers, two glasses of wine for north of $60 including tip will also have me thinking hard before stopping again.

Bottom line right up front?  Alright.  Too much money for what you get.  But if you have more money than sense and can't afford a truely swankey place then it is the place for you.  The food is good though.

My wife and I went here after a day returning Xmas gifts at the mall.  This is a nicer Bar Louie than the one at the International Mall.  I loathe that one.  So it is already winning with me compared to that one.  This one is newer looking and clean.  The place is all comfortable and dark wood.  It even has a nice outside seating area.  The food was very good and I enjoyed my California Club.  My wife liked her vege wrap.  We got the trio of dips for an app and it is stingy on the dip with tiny little finger bowls to dip in.  The salsa was runny and somewhat flavorless.  A bright spot was the beer is served in a frozen glass with a nitrogen system because it is so cold that it hurts my teeth.  I love that.

But the real kicker is the service is SLOW and the prices are rediculous.  It was $70 with tip for my wife and I to have 2 drinks each (on special) some chips and dip and 2 sandwiches.  Are you kidding me.  A well vodka is $6.  Beers are more expensive than at a specialty place like World of Beer.  And we were about to walk out for a lack of service.  and the place was only 1/3 full.  3 bartenders + 6 servers / 16 customers = 0 service.

The fix.  Get more realilistic prices, hire a hostess to make sure that everyone gets a server, stop trying to be high end while service glorified pub food.

Only been there for drinks and apps and haven't been disappointed.  Spicy Bloody Mary was really good and so was the second one!  My group complimented the sangria along with the margarita (on the rocks) as well.

Just visited Bar Louie for the first time tonight for a Girls night out. I have to say, it's not a bad place for cocktails & munchies...We ordered the Chicken Verde Flatbread & while tasty, I felt it needed a bit more fresh cilantro on it to really make this a WOW dish.. I had the Turkey, Ham & Brie Sandwich & immediately asked for a To-Go box.. This sandwich is huge & very tasty. The Berry Mojitos were very flavorful. A little on the "too" sweet side, but still tasty. I've been reading other reviews about the service but I have to say the waitstaff was on point tonight. Kenneth & the other waiters on the patio were pleasant, helpful & enthusiastic. I'll definitely go back..

Happy Hour is great at Bar Louie! We met a few friends and ordered apps and drinks around the table and just kept going. The Happy Hour prices were great but the service and food quality definitely lacked. We were constantly being brought the wrong drinks and some of the food was tasteless.

Now that the restaurant has been open a few months, we hope to go back to see if they've gotten the hang of things because with a happy hour special like this one - we probably won't be staying away!

We are always excited to see a new place open up in Clearwater but not so much for Bar Louie.
Our party sat at a booth that was swarming with fruit flies. We tried to ignore them but when they were landing/dying in our salad dressing, wing sauces and cheese fries, we had to stop eating.
We told the server and she sent the manager over. The manager admitted that they have a fruit fly problem and do not know how to get rid of them. Gross.
So you can imagine how surprised I was to see every uneaten meal still on my bill. Which, by the way, was ridiculously high for lunch.
The fruit flies, terrible customer service and overpriced food has guaranteed that we will not be back to Bar Louie.

I'm a fan of Bar Louie and this location was fabulous! It took my breath away slightly upon entering. I ventured in on a Saturday night to watch the big FSU vs UM game. It wasn't overly crowded, and as the night went on the restaurant emptied. I'm guessing that people still haven't remembered that this exists here yet.

They have live music every Friday and Saturday from 9-1, which is awesome.

The only downside for me is I feel like it's slightly overpriced for what you get. $5.25 for a Blue Moon (which is alright) and $10 for a salad with no protein and while the salad looked large, it was strategically placed on the plate/bowl thing so that by the time I finished it, I was (disappointingly) still hungry. Pretzals were to die for! They were cooked to fluffy perfection and come with 3 dipping sauces (honey mustard, queso, and cinnamon butter) all of which are like heaven in a bowl.

Service for our table was a little lacking, but they have just recently opened, so maybe just need a little more time to sharpen those skills!

I will be coming back here for sure!

The wife and I were looking for something to eat last night and wanted to give a new place a try. We figure why not Bar Louie we have been to all of the other restaurants that opened recently at Countryside Mall.

As you approach Bar Louie do so from the sidewalk that goes into the mall. I know this may seem ridiculous to say but I do so because the entrance to the establishment is not very visible. It is one door, not a double door. The other way to get in is to approach from the parking lot and walk into the outside seating area. There is a gate around the entire are so you will need to open it towards you to get in. There is no entrance from inside the mall because as we were told they do not want drunks stumbling through it in the middle of the night. Ok, so entering the place is not the easiest thing to do.

When we went into the restaurant we asked a server if we just grab a seat or how things work  he said sure sit where you would like so we headed outside because inside is loud. It is open seating and we grabbed some chairs on a high top table that seats 7 since all of the individual tables were taken. Eventually 3 other people sat at the other end of the table. The patio is very nice but can be a bit tight on space.

We ordered the pot stickers and the spinach dip. Nothing special or outstanding here. The food was just OK normal food. The prices were 8.50 and 8 dollars. Luckily it was $1 beer night, this includes Bud, Miller, and Coors light I believe. The beer menu is fairly limited even if you wanted something else. All told we spent around $20 which is reasonable for what we received. The portions are actually on the smaller side. If we had to pay full price for the beers I would say it was overpriced.

All told not a bad place if your at the mall. I will not go out of my way to make a trip to Bar Louie. I think you can find better food at better prices with a better atmosphere else where.

I was so excited that Bar Louie opened near my house as I love the one in Tampa! I was so excited to go with my husband as he had never been before. We showed up and the hostess sat us with no menus. It was a Monday night so it wasn't crowded at all. We sat there for 15 minutes and no one came to serve us. In fact no one even walked by to ask us if we had been helped. Since we had no menus and no server we just got up and left. No one even noticed! Needless to say BJs Brewhouse and Red Robin will get my business but no thanks Clearwater Bar Louie!!

I really want to like this place because it is the best happy hour I have found. We have been twice since opening. If you are going only for the drink specials then it is great, but so far all the food I've had is just kind of blah. We have tried the dip trio, the burgers of $1 burger night, the spinach artichoke dip, and the boneless wings.  The boneless wings were the best thing was have tried. The burger buns were a little to greasy for my liking, but for $2 with toppings I guess I can't complain to much.  Happy hour drinks specials are awesome though! $3 for any draft and they have about 20 different taps there is something for everyone. My advice is to go for the drink specials and stick to boneless wings for food.

I've been here multiple times since they opened this new location. I'm thrilled to have such a hip, new spot in Clearwater. So far, I've tried the chicken nachos, trio chips and dip, tempura shrimp and the potstickers. All were excellent and tasty. Also have tried the cosmo and lemon drop martinis when they were giving them away for free during opening week. They have a pretty impressive selection of draft and bottled beers as well, including some local craft beers from Dunedin Brewery, which wins them some bonus points in my book.Although it is generally quite busy, the service is usually pretty quick and the servers are friendly. The atmosphere is like an upscale lounge, but also have plenty of TVs and live music on the weekends, which really gives the atmosphere a lively feeling.

On Tuesdays from 5-Close they do $1 burger nights. Be sure to bring a TON of patience with you if you decide to check it out. When we arrived around 8 PM on  a Tuesday, we were told it would be 30 minute wait. We walked around the mall, came back 30 minutes later and the hostess said it'd be another 30 minutes. I was pretty annoyed with the miscalculation in wait time, but luckily we found a spot outside that had opened up so we sat down right away. My friends and I were starving so we wasted no time in ordering immediately. Then we waited and waited and waited and waited.... Finally 1 hour and 15 minutes later our burger and fries came out. By the way, on the menu, they give you the option to add fries or tots for 'a little more', when we asked the server what that meant, she said it's a $4 upcharge for the add on, so I guess that's how they make their money on Tuesday nights. When the food FINALLY came out, the burger was huge and well cooked. I was initially wondering if it'd be small since it was only a $1, but luckily that was not the case.

Overall, Bar Louie is really an awesome spot to hang, with food and drinks that never disappoint, albeit a bit overpriced in my opinion. Remember, watch out for $1 burger night and be prepared to wait a long while if you go on that night.

Ahhh, Lou. I love ya in Tampa and now in Clearwater. I'm am now just about equal distances from both locations and am quite happy about this! We went last night for their opening week promo; free martinis and one free app per person. The deal ran from 6-9 and we got there at 6, starting the night early (and because we knew it would be packed!). I can be cheap and so when we do go to Bar Louie (in general) I tend to hit up happy hour and/or drink beer because well, its less cashola. But I do l.o.v.e. their martinis so when I heard free, I was in! I tried the diva and cosmo. I'd had both before but its been a while. Out of the two, I prefer the Diva 'tini. There was approximately a 25-30 min wait between free drinks but beggars can't be choosers and our server would ask when she brought our drinks if she we wanted to put our next drink order I'm which was great of her. There were three of us last night and we had the chicken nachos (good value for the size!), potstickers, and crispy shrimp. All three were delish! Louie you do me proud, thanks for opening a second locale so my Pinellas friends will come!

One of the waiters was walking around giving away free Martinis glanced at us 'twice' and looked us over!!! Don't think I'm coming back.Could it be that were... never mind but we like Martinis too.

We came Thursday for opening week@ 9pm since they said there would be free Martinis/appetizers it wasn't. Ordered a martini called '*#! Good' wasn't ! It tasted like lime peel.
