Being from this town in the Memphis area, I don't take my barbecue lightly. Â This restaurant, however, has some of the best sauce and most tender pork you will have. Â I recommend a sandwich with slaw and extra sauce with sides of baked beans and thick fries. Â Not only does this place have the best pulled pork sandwich you'll ever enjoy, it's also run by a fantastic family.
The owner is former twenty-something year Fayette County sheriff Bill Kelley, under whom no serious violent crimes went unsolved. Â Not only this, but the man's barbecue has been famous in the area for years. Â Even before the shop, he would often cook up huge batches of his barbecue and sell it, with profits going to some local family in need. Â After he retired as sheriff, he opened this store. Â So give it a shot if you pass through.
Great little barbecue shop!
Of course they have good old-fashioned smoked pulled pork sandwiches, but you need to try the ribs! Yes, Virginia they're 'dry' ribs.
Don't know why (Sam Jackson voice-WHY O LORD?) do some people have to have 'wet'?
Solution: pour sauce on the 'dry' ribs, guess what you get? Wet Ribs!!!
