The restaurant/ bar is very nice looking and they have what looks like a great patio to enjoy a nice meal or drink on. I went to meet a group of friends for dinner there and we arrived around 7... It was relatively slow so I couldn't figure out why it was so loud. By the end of the night it became almost impossible to hear each other across the table. The food was average... I have had better. It was an honest.... meh. Our waitress was pleasant but either she was extremely prompt or so slow we thought she went on a break. Overall it was an ok experience but I don't see myself returning anytime soon.
Review Source:As someone who works in Seaport, I can tell you In Seaport you get a lot of things when dining. Great service and over the top prices, bizarre service and food and drinks not worth the price, or food and service where you feel justified when that dreaded bill comes. However, Barlow's sticks out. The atmosphere is one of your favorite neighborhood spot, the food is right on, the prices for food and drink is unbeatable.
The restaurant itself is stylish, big and has outdoor patio seating. The downside is the bathroom is down a set of stairs. The bartenders are always friendly and very talkative. The drink selection is large and the prices average under one to three dollars less than most restaurants in Seaport. The food is the best value. My go to is the blackened salmon sandwich. One preference is the bar menu over the restaurant menu for night but that's mainly because I prefer to grab a drink and eat light after work. Â
The brunch is average. Not to sound like a boozer, but the bloody mary bar on Sunday and the amount of champagne beverages is awesome! Last weekend I tried a drink with champagne and chamboard and it was nice and refreshing.
If you read my reviews of Seaport restaurants, it's worth the stop.
