I visited this place despite the poor reviews from here and from what my mother heard. I went on a rainy Saturday, around 4p - it had customers but not packed. My experience was excellent. I came in not knowing what I wanted at all, not beer, not meal. But the waiter stuck it out and went through each item on the menu with me. For beer, we decided that I would try his recommendation, and if I didn't like it, he'd take it back and bring me something else. When he brought the beer, he stood there to see how I liked it. I told him it wasn't for me, he laughed, and then took it back, bringing me another in its place. He didn't charge me for the first one.
As far as the food, I ordered shrimp and grits, and I'm seriously still thinking about it. The grits were creamy and cheesy and had a mashed potato consistency. It was topped with shrimp seasoned with Cajun spices, and thin strips of ham. Â I am seriously contemplating going back, but it's $18.
That's the real drawback of this place. It's insultingly expensive for a BBQ joint.
