There is NO mention in menu or by wait staff that there are NO FREE REFILLS.....ridiculous!!  The nachos and salads were good but the seafood dishes were overly salty and tomato-cream sauce has a very odd taste...do not recommend.  We were seated near the bar and it was VERY loud...not a great atmosphere for socializing.  Really want to like this place but 4/4 visits over the past 8 months have been very disappointing so we won't be back.....

Waitress was very nice. Food was not so very nice. The entire meal was just about as stale as stale can get. Egads. I haven't had this bad of a food experience in a long long long while. I am going to have to go ahead and use the word GROSS.

If you want to wait for appetizers for an hour then this is the place to go. We went there on 3/22/2013 and the waitress was clueless! Had to leave because it was annoying seeing her just walk by our table and not saying anything! Manager asked how was everything, we said it sucked and he said " oh im sorry to hear that" and kept it moving! How unprofessional! Warning: don't go there:(

Used to be good. My last time in here.

Ordered a burger without the bun and substitution on the onion rings for salad. Was brought a huge salad separately.  It was ridiculously big.  I got the feeling I would be billed for it as an extra.  Even the salad was not particularly good. I got twice what I expected.  The waitress was IMHO planning to bill me extra.  That is not a substitution. If there was an extra charge she should have mentioned it.

When the too large salad arrived I let it sit untouched.  I nearly walked out then also.  I got the meal, which came undercooked. I ordered medium rare and got rare, with a bun when I asked for it without one.  If I wanted to eat it like a sandwich the bottom half of the roll was flattened to as thin as a crepe and sopping wet with grease.   I nearly walked out then also.  The salad tasted flat and the dressing was unimpressive.  The waitress, I think sensed I was unhappy.  She billed me $1.75 extra for my half eaten salad.

The bottom line is I saw it coming and should have walled out right away.   I came in for a quick burger, asked in advance if a salad as a substitution was a problem, and it turned out to be.  I left angry and resolved to never come back.

The service was flat too. No smiles, no pleasantries. She wanted to be somewhere else.  She spit out a quick introduction so fast I did not catch her name and she wore no name tag. The service was as impersonal as a robot.  I was not offered a refill on my $2.00 soda which was unexpected. I got the felling it would have been an extra charge so I waited to see if she would offer one...didn't happen.   She was training a new guy.  My feeling was it was a mistake to have a dead pan waitress train anyone.  I was there around 4PM, the place was empty except for the bar.  I suppose the waitress was unhappy at having to work the slow part of the shift .  Still if she was nicer, she would have gotten a tip despite the poor quality food.

This was the first time I did not leave a tip. While it was not the worst service, it was close.  I suppose I am used to friendlier environments and smiles.

Food was great! My boyfriend and I stopped here during a road trip and ended up loving it so much that we stopped on the way home too! All the food was delicious. I recommend the calamari appetizer and the Sagamore salad. Fast service too.

Michelle server was very kind.  Patsy (manager) sent over birthday appetizers for my mom-  The best addition to their menu is the KALE SALAD!  Must try!!

The service is always great, Management is very kind- and this is a staple for Black Rock Turnpike Family/Casual dining

Great food, I was surprised by the quality of the Italian food at a place I was expecting to get only some decent happy hour grub. The staff was attentive and we got our food in decent time even with our large party. After dinner we played some pool and darts while enjoying a surprisingly good selection of beer and wine.... good shots also.

I've been to Orange Bear and Grill at least a half dozen times and figured the Fairfield location would be a safe bet.  I was so very wrong.
We went later on a Saturday night. There was a live "band" playing.  I hesitate to use the term band simply because I could only see one guy with a guitar and hear one pretty off-key voice for the duration of our visit.  It set the tone pretty quickly for how the evening would go.
The tables were dirty, the service was slow and the food was bad.  My boyfriend and I both ordered burgers, his with fries and mine with onion rings.  The burgers were cold and dried out, which paired nicely with the stale, greasy french fries.  The only item served warm were the onion rings, which were okay. We soldiered through the meal, trying to wash away the unappetizing food with cold beers, but alas, since they were extremely understaffed that night, the 1 waitress who appeared to be on duty was nowhere to be seen and we decided against ordering another round round of drinks, instead choosing to make our getaway, putting as much distance between ourselves and the meal as possible.

Went last night for dinner. Having worked in several restaurants I usually work on a 3 strikes rule, knowing how hard it can be for a restaurant to get its act together. When it first opened the food was good, and the service was ok. After a few more visits, the quality of the food stayed the same but the service got worse...and worse. I think I gave this place 4 strikes, but after that I was done.

It had been a few years since we last went, so I thought we would give it another chance. They're still open, so I figured maybe they got it together. Over the course of our dinner, they racked up 2 more strikes (1 for horrible food, 1 for complete lack of service). the bread was stale and hard as a rock and a $14 lobster roll that was full of shells and cartilage. Our "waiter" was hard to find after dinner was served. After 30 min or so when I wanted the check, I got up to find him...sitting by the fireplace talking with the other waiters and hostess.

I would avoid this place at all costs. It's a shame, it really could be  great family restaurant.

Absolutely do not book your next event/brunch here. It was the worst, most disorganized brunch I had ever been to. The setup was horrific. The plates were dirty. Management was a disarray. The food was cold. The music was terrible. Service was unacceptable. Restaurant Impossible would have had a hay day. I would love to see the kitchen. The only thing good was the coffee...

If you look hard enough at the details, the cleanliness issues here will never make you want to return.

I've been to the restaurant many times and enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar area.  This visit was disappointing due to poor service. We ordered the Prime Rib and did not notice on the menu that it came with Caesar salad. Due to allergies I can't eat cheese, which was liberally placed over the lettuce when it arrived. We told the waitress that we were not aware that a Caesar salad went with the meal and that I could not eat it.  The waitress said that it was on the menu (but she didn't mention it at all when she took the order).  I expected an apology or an offer to bring a plain salad without the cheese.  Don't think I'll be going back.

Most of their food on their menu is on par with Joe's, the other american style restaurant in town.  Atmosphere is more of a log-cabin feel, so not the best date place.  However, great for the kids.  The lighting is always too dark for dinner time.  In addition, the service is spotty.  However, they make an excellent burger and have great fries.

I have no idea why this place is still in business. The decor is amusing, but if the food and service is terrible then what's the point? When I ate here last week I ordered the Gyro from the "Specials" menu, hoping it would be better than their dry, nothing-special burgers. What I got was lamb Lincoln Logs in a wrap with huge chunks of tomato and a lame excuse for Tzatziki sauce. I could have gotten something better at Andros Diner for $6.

The staff is just as terrible. I've had drinks spilled on me, received apologies from the management for poor service, and this time was nothing different. Our waiter never left the counter unless he absolutely had to bring food to his tables. He was right behind our booth and all of us at one point stated quite loudly that we were done, but he was too busy chatting with the cooks. The management can't be bothered either. The manager that night was hanging out at the counter as well and we had to listen to her complaining about ordering problems.

Our memorable experience was topped off when we exited into a cloud of cigarette smoke created by four guests who were standing right in front of the door.

If I were running this place I would nominate it for Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.

The BRUNCH is the only reason for this review. Ample, fresh, variety, good carving station, very reasonable $ for the brunch- all u can eat. Nice fo a family Sun afternoon. The bar is ok- FFld U kids again. Oh, and I luv the fire place too. Its noisy- bad acoustics. Great private parking in back- front is tough.

With comfortable atmosphere and decent food for the money you spend there, this place is good for a date kind of setting or watching a game at the bar.

What makes me say this exactly? Well, the bar is very well-equipped, anyone can see that, but the dining room lends a hand to a first-date atmosphere with their pretty starlit ceiling. That's right - starlit ceiling. Add that to the fake foliage that creates a more rustic feel and you've got that atmosphere I mentioned before.

Now, I'm not a big meat fan most of the time I eat out, but their steak is pretty ace and I'm a fan of their pasta dishes.
Couple this with the aforementioned cuteness and I definitely recommend you try it at least once.

Bad food, bad service, bad watered-down drinks, and if you are there on weekends, bad live music. The decor is laughable. Avoid it.

Love the decor (especially in the back dining area, with the twinkling ceiling stars) and the comfortable booths.  Service is reasonably attentive.  Good basic grill food.  Can't seem to stop getting the filet mignon skewer appetizer, with its gorgonzola cheese dipping sauce. ..

This place has a cabin like feel to it.  I went during lunch time and the service was great.  What killed it for me was the food.  I think this place is okay if you order lunch time food.  That's where I made a mistake and ordered a mixed grill entree with pork chop, lamb chops, mashed potatoes and grilled veggies.

I went with 2 others who ordered the lobster roll sandwich and chicken salad.  Neither complained about their orders.  My lamb chops were cooked as I ordered them - medium rare.  Why they cooked the life out of the pork chop is beyond me.  The veggies were absolutely trifling.  They looked like they had each been burnt at the stake and tortured to death.  However, I attempted to revive them with salt and some pepper but to no avail.  I realized I should stop kidding myself.  Subsequently, I gorged myself on the fabulous, filling mash potatoes.  If it weren't for them, I'd of left hungry.  The photo depicts what I left.

Good food and great atmosphere.   The menu is very creative with lots of choices for even the most finicky eater.  I eat there often and one time the coffee was stale but they made a fresh pot and I was happy.   The waiter and waitress service could be much better, but I think they are just under staffed.   This happens every time I am there, so I think the management wants to save money and not have too much staff.  But nevertheless, the food and the experience is worth the waitress hunting and hand waving moments.   The soup size is small so don't expect to have a meal with just soup.  The salads are great and very healthy.
