At first glance, this was a run down, dirty, almost scary place. But the longer I sat there, the more it grew on me. By the time I left I realized this is a pretty decent place to hang out.
Beer Thirty is a private club, so smoking is permitted. After quizzing us for a bit and finally  deciding we were ok, the bartender let us  apply for  memberships. She was pretty friendly and had a sassy sense of humor.
The bar area isn't very attractive, pretty barebones in a cinder-block room. The bar forms a long U-shape so offers lots of seating and lends itself to creating conversations. There's a covered patio outside the east end.
To the west of the bar is a separate room (separated by a half-wall) with pool tables and additional seating. This room looks nicer than the bar area. The restrooms are back here too and were pretty clean.
The bar serves food a few days a week but apparently usually has a few things that can be quickly heated up on the other days.
Beer Thirty is biker friendly and participates in area poker runs. It also has karaoke nights as well as bands. I'm told it's a popular hangout for off duty police as well.
So, while I started out skittish, by the time I was done I liked this place. Â If you manage to win them over to get your membership, you'll love the attitudes, friendly people, and super cheap drinks.
Omgoo, this place is even better now!
So in my previous review I stated I was biased because I knew someone who worked there. Well now she runs the place...and that means awesome food each night!
Taco Tuesdays has turned to Taco Mondays. Still delicious and now she has taco salads which I find huge!
Tuesday nights are now Ribeye Steak Sandwich night....AKA mine and my husband's favorite night! Those sandwiches are so delicious. I don't even usually like that kind of things, but it's just delicious with the thin slices of steak and the peppers, onions, and mushroom son top.
Wednesday is still burger night. I love her burgers as well. They are huge though, so watch out! I believe they are 1/2 lb burgers with your choice of fries or onion rings. They onion rings are yummy as well. I think it's only like 6 something for the burger, side, and a beer.
Thursday night is pulled pork sandwiches with chips. They are good and have a bit of a kick to them!
Friday night is pizza night...haven't tried it yet, so can't really judge.
The weekends they have burgers or pizza, and I think chicken strips every night.
I am simply a huge fan of her cooking...and the place has a great atmosphere. Most of the people there are locals and it's fun to just sit and spend the evening with friends.
Also, they make amazing Long Island Ice teas. They are STRONG too. I have been spoiled on them and now I cannot order them anywhere else without feeling let down.
