Went on a Thursday, around 730pm....yes, the place needs to be spruced up and the decor modernized. Â The waitress was fantastic, very attentive, and handling all the tables (only had four or five while we were there). Â I had a 16oz NY strip steak (with a garlic/Parmesan crust , came with roasted vesuvio potatoes, vegetables for about $30...it was all wonderful. Â Wife had a lobster tail - which she enjoyed. We shared a calamari, which was good, and nicely cooked.

Review Title - Old Old Old
Old #1 - The clientele. Â If you are under 50 you are likely to be the youngest in the place. Â This isn't necessarily bad but doesn't really enhance the atmosphere.
Old #2 - The Menu.  The menu options (with a very few exceptions) are outdated and not very interesting.  The grilled calamari appetizer is one of the exceptions.  Served with baby greens and a lemon garlic vinaigrette, it is quite tasty.  We have ordered the calamari a number of times and it is always done perfectly, never over done or rubbery.  The greens with the vinaigrette is a perfect pairing.  I have also had the artichoke fritters and they are decadently  wonderful.  I can't provide a entree recommendation because I haven't found anything outstanding.  The prime rib is okay but nothing special and under seasoned.  I like the garlic mashed potatoes but my son does not - he says that they are too garlicky.  The lobster tails  were over cooked and had none of the sweet tenderness that you look forward to when ordering lobster.  The grilled salmon over champagne dill sauce is the worst. The salmon was completely flavorless and the sauce was just gross.  On to dessert, we had "Bruce's special Dessert" which are deep fried bananas in cinnamon and sugar served with caramel sauce and ice cream.  It tastes pretty darn good though the crust on the bananas is kinda weird. Â
Old #3 - The building and decor, 'nuff said.
On a positive note, they have their own parking lot in town where finding parking can be difficult.
My wife and I are pretty new to the highwood area and we are attempting to get to know the area by eating and drinking our way around. Â This being said we decided to have a dinner out and decided on Bertucci's just because we have been to Bridie McKenna's a few times and it is right next door.
We called about 5:30pm and made 7pm reservations just to be on the safe side. Â We walked in and quickly realized that we were the youngest ones there. Â Not by a year or two, but easily by decades. Â Again, this was 7pm, we weren't there for the early-bird special.
My wife ordered the Filet Mignon and I had a grilled seafood plate. Â All in all, the food was decent. Â My wife said that her steak was seasoned well but there was a slight taste of char, my seafood had the same. Â We walked out spending $105 with tip for an appetizer, two entrees and a couple of glasses of wine. Â
This will probably not be on the top of the list for places to eat again, but wasn't terrible. Â I think that for the money we can probably do better in Highwood. Â Our search continues...
