I'm not to familiar with the Moraga area.  When it came to being hungry at lunch I knew of this place from a friend and decided to stop by.

It was a little later than busy lunch time so it wasn't busy.  I ordered the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich with Pesto Mayo, Lettuce and Tomato.

Remember its Cash Only.  This was a very rare day that I actually had cash on me.  Otherwise I would skip this place.  They also don't have a bathroom for public use.  Which I really wished they had one but had to hold it in.

As to my sandwich, I could have lived without the Shredded Lettuce.  The sandwich would have been so much better with Romain or Spinach as my green.  The Pesto Mayo was very good and made up for the crappy lettuce.

If I decide to come back again I'm definitely trying something else.  And I cant forget my cash.

A bit of local trivia you might not have known: The term "STFU" was originally coined in Moraga by people who were tired of hearing everyone go on and on and on about how great Bianca's is, when it's really just an OK sandwich shop that gets crowded a lot. The sandwiches aren't bad, but I can think of probably a dozen other delis that are just as good. The prices at Bianca's aren't that great either.

Mainly, I think what's going on here is that there are like one or two other places in Moraga where you can get a sandwich, and one of them is Subway, and a pretty sub-par Subway at that. That plus "OMG SHOP LOCAL!!!" makes people wear rose-colored glasses and they cheerlead this place to death.

One thing they do have going for them is that they will sell you their lunchmeat by the pound, and a lot of it is the good kinds that you won't find at the local supermarkets. So that's good. Otherwise, it's a sandwich shop. Get over it.

CASH ONLY!  Nice deli with a great selection of sandwiches.  Total mom & pop, but know what you want before you stand in line, mom can get a bit gruff/impatient.

Horrible customer service. Only take cash or checks from customers that live in Lamorinda area (guess people from outside Lamorinda can't be trusted). Staff are rude and the owner even ruder. Will never return.

This place is great if you're just looking for a lunch that will get you through the rest of a busy afternoon. My go-to sandwich is the grilled chicken and jack, and it is pretty tasty. I've often found that I can just eat the first half for lunch and save the second half for another meal later.

It's a great little mom-and-pop type of place. Definitely remember to bring cash because they will not accept plastic, and the line can get pretty long at lunch, so see if you can slip in a little earlier or later than you normally would--this usually helps you beat the line.

Definitely stop by here if you're looking for a great little place to grab a bite of lunch.

The quintessential mom and pop sandwich shop that every local loves. Ignore the decor, chalkboard and plastic glasses. It's all about the bread and everything between it. The pro team is the go to sandwich if you love meat.

Watch out for the lunch crowd and don't forget to bring cash.

A 'mom-and-pop' deli with that small-town atmosphere. Average sandwich. They have several signs stating no 'plastic' (ATM, debit, credit cards) and only local checks (Lamorinda only). Time to step into the present-day, Bianca's. I use my debit almost everywhere. I'm not likely to withdraw $20 just for a sandwich so it's unlikely I'll come here again unless I already have cash on hand. I'll make the drive to Genova in WC instead.

I tried this place for the first time a few weekends ago, and I was not impressed.  We waited in line to order for about 10 minutes despite the fact that they weren't all that busy.  They seemed disorganized and confused and once we got our chance to order, they weren't even particularly polite let alone friendly.

I ordered their cranberry turkey sandwich and the 3 star description sums it up perfectly: Meh.  I've experienced better.  Everything was just ok except for the cranberry sauce - they used crappy canned cranberry sauce that still held some of the shape of the can it came in.  Disappointing.

Next time I'm in town, I'd rather go elsewhere.

Really great sandwiches. The bread is good. The meat is good. The lettuce is soft and stringy, which is interesting. I like mine crunchy, but it is a nice spin.

Cash only. Sometimes the people seem a bit grumpy. Still worth the sandwich though.

I was in the area and decided to give this place a try.

*minus a star... I was greeted by a rude, pretentious teenager that gave me total attitude as I placed my order. Whatever.

*minus a star... I go to pay and it's cash only. SO I leave and go to Safeway next door to get cash back then I come back to get my sandwich. Mind you, I have a one year old with me, so this was somewhat of  a pain to to make an extra trip. There was an atm but there was a couple dollar charge and I wasn't paying ten dollars for a sandwich.

*minus two stars  the order was wrong and the sandwich was poorly made. OH the sandwich. Eh. the rude order taker got my order wrong and gave me American cheese, and slathered the mayo on like there was no tomorrow. Barely any meat and loads of lettuce made me actually give the rest to my husband who took two bites and threw it away. I would definitely not go back even if I had cash.

I will go to the brass bear in Alamo instead, they make some bomb sandwiches EVERY time.

Bianca's biggest fan is my cousin Taylor C., who has been raving about the chicken sandwich for the longest time. Finally got a chance to try it and am now a fan as well! Went on a weekend around lunch time and the line was practically out the door, however it moved rather quickly. I had a hankering for cream cheese so I got the turkey avocado sandwich with cream cheese on dutch crunch with everything (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, mustard, pickles). While waiting for our order, the sandwich maker came up to me and asked me if I really wanted mayo and mustard since I added cream cheese and it might be too much. How thoughtful! I decided to hold the mayo and mustard and really appreciated her attention to detail when I devoured the sandwich later. So good!! I will definitely need to stop by next time I'm in town because there were quite a lot of sandwich combos I need to try.

Biancas is where I became a deli snob.  Their sandwiches are super fresh and made with tender loving care.  Good bread rolls, ham and selection of cheeses.  Don't forget to add pepperoncini's  to your sandwich!  I also like their crab cakes and BBQ pork sandwiches.  I have been coming here faithfully for over 10 years.  Bianca's and I will grow old together.

I understand when people say it's not the greatest sandwich shop in the world, but hot damn if it isn't one of my favorite... Easily one of the best places to eat in Moraga, please don't get sandwiches from lame places like Jack in the Box and support your local delicatessen!

To be honest, the last time I had been to Bianca's was when I was around 6-7 years old and i guess it didn't make too much of an impact on me considering i barely remembered the place as people tried to "enlighten" me as to how good it is.

For starters, I made sure to look at yelp and take the advice of many of the previous reviewers and went with the highly praised Grilled Chicken and Jack.  The sandwich was good.  Just that.  Now even though I ordered it on dark rye, you can't say I was "doing it wrong" by not getting the homemade sourdough roll as I also tasted the same sandwich on the formerly mentioned bread thanks to my Mom allowing me sample her meal.

For the price, it's a good deal, and the quality is definitely high tier for the low variety we have access to, living in Moraga.  So basically, it's probably the best sandwich you're gonna get unless you travel 10-15 minutes further, considering subway and an abundance of "meh" burger joints are your only real options for a sandwich around the area.  All in all, I'd still rather travel to the sunvalley mall for an Andersen's Bakery sandwich 9 out of 10 times, which doesn't have as much variety as Bianca's but compensates with more unique options in my opinion...for relatively the same price as well.

One thing I really wish Bianca's would do it accept debit/credit cards.  Although they have an actual ATM in the joint, it would be nice for convenience.  But overall the crazy line at the place and all the hype these decent sandwiches get isn't going to be hindered by that small issue. hahaha

If you go here I recommend the chicken and jack. By far the best they serve because they cook and season their own chicken breasts, and then slice them thinly and in the right direction, and then broil some jack cheese on top before putting on their home-made bread.

The bad, and the reason that makes me boycott this place (sadly) is they are rude. The man who owns it has never once been friendly and it kinda puts a damper on eating your delicious sandwich. Plus, we are students and sometimes we want to spilt a sandwich and this places charges you extra if two people eat the same sandwich. I don't get it- its the same product, why charge people more for the same thing, especially just because they don't have money to buy two sandwiches. I think it's kind of a douche-bag move. Just let people split their sandwiches. And maybe smile or be friendly once and a while. I really like your bread, and your chicken-jack. I just don't like the service putting me a bad mood right before I try to enjoy the meal I paid for.

I've been going here FOREVER because there's something about their sandwiches that's just so unique I find myself craving them at odd times and I can honestly say I've driven miles out of the way just to satisfy that craving. The owners are incredibly nice and still to this day remember my order. I used to work around the corner in high school and forgot they only took cash one day and only had my card on me so the cashier told me to bring her money the next time I was working and let me have my sandwich. I'll never forget that.

As long as Bianca's still stands I will continue to eat their sandwiches and be forever satisfied.

Best fresh roasted turkey sandwich ever.  The turkey slices have the same taste and texture that you'd get fresh out of your own oven.  Nowhere else.  Even so called italian or new york style deli's can't seem to do this right, they all end up having that "processed" texture, and fake water injected moisture.

I'd also recommend the crab cake sandwiches, but, man you'd be passing up turkey heaven....

I am so stoked to have found a sandwich shop with really great sandwiches!!
Let me start by saying that I could eat a sandwich every single day for the rest of my life, thats how much I love them. I'm always on the lookout for somewhere that has good sandwiches. My go to place use to be Zarri's in Albany but since they've changed owners, the quality has gone downhill and its just not the same anymore.
I went here on a Saturday around three and the place was nearly empty.
I ordered roast turkey with bacon and avacado on sourdough. OMG!!  Delicious!!
Turkey was moist, bacon was crisp, bread was fresh. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Their lettuce is shredded so thinly, in my opinion it really makes the sandwich. Everyone was friendly and I was in and out within 5 minutes. I will definitely be coming back here again as often as I can!!

Anyone who went to St. Mary's or lives in the Lamorinda area knows about Bianca's. Funny thing is I never even knew the place was called Bianca's we'd just call it the Deli. There aren't a lot of options around there for sandwiches so it was self explanatory.

The key to the sandwiches is the freshly baked sour dough rolls. I don't know why anyone would get a sandwich without it on the sour dough. In the dozens of times I frequented this place over the years I never got a sandwich that wasn't on the sour dough roll, it's that good.

My usual would be chicken and jack or ham and swiss. Both are equally tasty. One thing that is unique about bianca's is they way they slice their lettuce super thin on the deli slicer. It really adds to the crunch of the sandwich I wish more places would do that. They also have great pickles gives it that extra kick.

The only negatives of this place is that it gets super crowded and it's cash only, or at least it used to be.

If I'm ever up at St. Mary's for any reason and need some food Bianca's will be the first place I stop. It brings back a lot of great memories.

I'm a Gael, so forgive my bias. I spent four years walking past the chapel, taking seminar, drinking in tiny dorm rooms and Lafayette bars, "entering to learn and leaving to serve" and eating hundreds of Bianca's Grilled Chicken and Jacks.

I still consider this one of the best sandwiches in the region, and, for me, the hemisphere. I'll drive out to Moraga just to taste the simplicity: thinly sliced lettuce, morning-baked rolls, fresh-cut chicken hunks and microwave-melted jack cheese.

I probably spent the equivalent of a semester's tuition on the Jack (and a few Big and Bouncys and a Home Team or two).

If God is a Gael, God pounds Bianca's.

I've heard of Bianca's ever since high school. A lot of the local residents would go to Bianca's after school, hangout, and just start meaningful conversations about their sandwiches. I know, I've even had a lot of conversations about Bianca's during school (ha, ya i know.. that's weird), but after really visiting the place one day, I find myself agreeing with the majority of the people. The place is a mom and pop's shop..Seats aren't extravagant, place is semi-old, everything you buy is charged separately (chips, drink, dessert, sandwich, etc.), but I think that's why most of the locals like this place.
You go in the shop and order the sandwich you've been ordering since you were young, and eat it. If you're lucky, the owner's will know you and instantly prepare "YOUR" sandwich for you while you chat and wait... I'm not a frequent customer, but I do crave it sometimes.

Some of the sandwiches I would suggest, are:

+Roast beef sandwich on rye with everything minus the pickles.
+BBQ pulled pork sandwich on a dinner roll with everything minus the pickles
+Turkey sandwich on white with everything minus the pickles

(different cheeses are available for your pairing)

A sandwich will cost anywhere from $4.74-6.50.. if you want a drink and a bag of chips then it will go up to about $9-10.50

If you reallly want dessert afterwards, they have a little ice cream freezer near the cashier that consists of drumsticks, its its, fudge bars, and crunch bars (sometimes)

I used to frequent Bianca's while I was attending Saint Mary's College.  Years later I still think about their amazing homemade sourdough rolls.  Whenever I am in town I always stop by.

Let's be honest people, Bianca's is amazing.  It's been around FOREVER.  If I come home to Moraga to visit the 'rents and I don't take a trip to this town staple, I feel empty inside.  I wish I could ship cases of Bianca's sandwiches to Sacramento because I've YET to find a sandwich shop that compares.

Yes, they only take cash which is a pain if you're like me and only carry plastic.  And yes, sometimes the folks behind the counter come off pretty dang rude (just don't let it get to you - as a regular I barely even notice it anymore).  BUT, this place is delicious.  You cannot go wrong no matter what you order.  My personal favorite is fresh roast turkey on sourdough with avocado and cheese.  They also happen to have a damn good Reuben.

No lies, I DREAM of Bianca's sandwiches.  If you have yet to frequent this fine establishment, you are sorely missing out.  In the words of Nike, just do it!

One of my favorite Deli's... Been going here since college

I love hot sandwiches, and this place has some of my favorite - Chicken and Jack, Chicken/Veal Parmigiana, Tri Tip, Kilbasa, Meatball are all great.

I recommend the Chicken and Jack and adding Barbecue sauce.

The house made roll is awesome, probably what makes their sandwich great

I know people think Marcy at the cash register is mean, but the best way to do it is to not take it personally like John S. said - just laugh at how serious she is that she needs to see the Snapple bottle on the counter in order to properly charge for it

Bill, her husband, is such a great guy, he makes up for it haha.

Still my favorite place in Moraga to get a deli sandwich, ever since I first came here in middle school in the early 2000's.  It can get really busy during lunchtime peak hours, but it's worth the wait!  Besides, the wait gives you time to figure out what you're going to order.  The owner is always working, and writes down your order on a slip of receipt paper, hands it off to the assembly line, and then by the time you pay for your sandwich, it's nearly always ready, wrapped in paper or on a plate.  Great selection of sandwiches, drinks, chips, and deli items.  The sourdough roll is baked in house and superfresh.  I always get the classic turkey sandwich, and I am always happy as a clam after.  I have yet to get a wrong sandwich.  The assembly line is very efficient!

The only complaint I have is that I have NEVER seen the staff crack a smile.  C'mon, guys... it wouldn't hurt your business!

I don't know why but I grew up avoiding this place like the plague. I think my mother instilled in me the idea that it was unclean.

One day, it occurred to me that everyone I knew, literally, EVERYONE I knew had been going to, and enjoying Bianca's for years and years. I gave it a shot at the suggestion of my friends and I had to admit, I had been missing out. Not only is Bianca's clean, (what the hell, Mom) it is in fact delicious.

Yes, you need to try it. The bread is fresh, chicken is juicy and cheese is...cheesy. But the cold options are just as good. Roast beef and chicken salad are both great.

Easiest 5 stars I've ever given.

I will make this short and sweet. CHICKEN AND JACK. Do it, you won't regret it.

I have been going to Bianca's as long as I can remember, The people working, especially my man Bill (dawgpounds when I walk in), are all extremely friendly. It's a mom and pop place, which makes it that much better! I love the "local" feel to the restaurant, they have all kinds of sandwich, drink, chip options. But don't mess around, just order the chicken and jack on the sourdough (warm delicious soft roll!).

Yes, it gets crowded, if you have a big order, call it in! Otherwise wait, it is worth it!

HEADS UP: doesn't accept credit cards! But has an ATM in the deli now!

I've been to Bianca's more times than I can count, though I haven't been there for a little while now. It's a terrific little deli adjacent to Terzetto Cuisine in Moraga, and it's probably the best deli in town.

The sandwiches here are really good. The bread is far above average, the ingredients are tasty, and the sandwiches are also easy to eat! They put just around the right amount of ingredients in, so it's not unwieldy or dominated by bread. They also have never gotten my order wrong, even when I get a custom sandwich.

The people are pretty nice here, although I suppose they could be more conversationally animated. At any rate, I usually go with other people or just get the sandwich to go, so I'm not particularly concerned about workers that aren't glowing like a christmas tree. I do remember when I went to Bianca's more often, they knew who I was, and even knew what kind of sandwich I generally ordered =)

If you're in Moraga and want a sandwich, go to Bianca's. You will not be disappointed. And with the departure of the deli in the Rheem Plaza, I can't think of another deli in Moraga that can compete.

The sandwiches are pretty good..this is probably one of the most popular local establishments. Most of the complaints on this page are undue, I must say.

Complaining about the service at a deli? Come on. You aren't at a 50 dollar/person French restaurant. What do you expect? Clearly a snob.

Anyway, on the sandwiches, they're pretty damn good. I've had better, but not around these parts. Good value for your money, especially considering it's location!

The closest a sandwich can get to Heaven!

I had the Tuna Salad Sandwich and my cousin had the Prosciutto Sandwich, both on the French Sweet Roll.  All the ingredients were so fresh, the pickles were tart and cripsy, the roll was soft and slightly chewy, and the tuna was "fluffy" i would say...not the bottom of the barrel sopping in water type tuna from a can :-)

There was a huge line when I went into the restaurant, and a huge line formed right behind me once I got there.

There's a wide selection of gourmet chips to be found in the restaurant.

Service is OK, it's quick, but I found the cashier a bit short with all the customers.  Not a reason to stop me from coming here though, the sandwiches are worth it!

Umm..yumm? One of the best Deli's out there, honestly. I've been coming here since High School and I still make frequent visits.

There's plenty of seating and plenty of parking. There's also plenty of ingredients to choose from if you opt to build your own sandwich instead of choose from their delicious specials. Also, they have home-made EVERYTHING, it seems. Banana bread, madelines, potato salad, corn dogs, you name it. They also have ice cream, a lot of sodas and drinks to choose from, and chips galore.

The best thing I've had at Bianca's is their Louisiana Hot Link Sandwich. It's so addictive. However, you could honestly get anything there and be extremely satisfied.

I went here with my boyfriend.
Since we gave up meat, we both got tunaon white.
    I can make better.

    Pros:
    Plenty of parking.
    Plenty of seatings.
    Safeway is right there!
    They are semi-friendly.

    Cons:
    $20 for 1 drink and 2 sandwiches.
    Not so good sandwiches.
    Tables weren't clean.
    So country looking. Ehhh.

Maybe I will go here again to try something else since the reviews are so good?

I grew up about a mile away from Bianca's, and every time I'm back home, I eat there at least once a day. It is my favorite deli sandwich in my history of long, intimate relationship with deli sandwiches.

The grilled chicken and jack sandwich (on a sour roll), though it has increased in price about .75 over the past few years, is one of the first sandwiches that I can honestly say changed my life. The turkey apple sausage sandwich is excellent as well. Please let one of these fantastic sandwiches into your life so it can be changed for the better, as well.

Simply put, there aren't many down home delis like this anymore, where they offer fresh, quality ingredients as well as friendly, recognizable faces. Even in Moraga, a small town with wildlife and wilderness, family owned video stores are starting to go the way of Blockbusters. Bianca's lets us keep it in the community.

Social motivations aside, there is another BIG BONUS - Bianca's has an It's It freezer. Not just stocked with every It's It flavor...but an actual branded It's It freezer. I've thought about breaking into Bianca's and stealing it so I can take it to my home, but I recognize the tremendous disservice this would do to other loyal customers. So I've never done it. I credit the grilled chicken and jack sandwich for providing the love and support that has prevented me from spiraling out of control into a sordid life of crime.

Bianca's is this cute family run sandwich shop in the Moraga Shopping Center.  It really does make some good sandwich's, but so does the Safeway in Moraga as well.

I grew up minutes from Bianca's and used to eat there all the time growing up.  Every time I would come home from college I would go back and eat there as well.  Yet, in the past five years they have seem to have taken a turn for the worst and extremely overrated.

I am currently boycotting Bianca's.  Over the past couple of years, I started calling ahead and ordering my sandwich because there is always a line that takes about 20 minutes and I feel like spend more time in line than I do eating my food.  When I went to pick it up, no one even remembered taking my order and then they told me that if I wanted it that I would have to wait in line to place it.

If you want a suggestion from me, my personal favorite is the grilled chicken & jack on a sour roll.

First things first, this is the BEST sandwich place in Moraga.  Secondly, other than Safeway and Subway, this is the only place to get a sandwich in Moraga, so basically there is zero competition.

That being said Bianca's really does have fantastic sandwiches, sandwiches that rival some of the best delis around.   I have tried a great many sandwiches here, all of which are delicious, but I most enjoy the grilled chicken and jack, and on occasion, the turkey cranberry with jack cheese added.

You really can't go wrong here, that is unless you get the wrong type of bread and then of course your sandwich is f*%$ (I am being dramatic).  This is the most important thing to remember when ordering at Bianca's: ALWAYS, always, always get the sour roll, anything else and your sandwich will still be good, but not amazing.

I remember in high school my sister and I would always come here after finals.  We would get our chicken and jack sandwiches to go and then come home and watch Sixteen Candles (one of the best movies ever).  We would watch the same scene over and over, you know at the dance when Jake Ryan goes to get his girlfriends jacket and Molly Ringwald wants to talk to him but is too shy, and he bites his lip...so sexy...best part ever, if you don't know it go watch the movie now and you will fall in love.

So basically if you are looking for a good time, get your self some delicious Bianca's on a SOUR ROLL and take it back with you to watch the Jake Ryan lip biting scene of Sixteen Candles.   You won't regret it.

This place never gets old! Years ago when I was in high school my friends and I came here at least once a week. When I left for college I looked for a deli that compared and came close, but never exceeded Bianca's. On my visits home my parents wanted to take me somewhere nice when out in the afternoon, but all I'd crave is a tasty deli sandwich from Bianca's.

Luckily, I now live 25 miles from Bianca's and when driving through Moraga to see the parents, I make a pit stop when ever I feel the urge.

Yes, my boyfriend (guy below this review) beat me to reviewing Bianca's regardless of the fact that I have been going there for much much longer than him. Must be a good place if he was that excited to write the review ;)

Turkey Avocado w/no onions, no mayo.everything else:yes (cuz otherwise if I say all that I want, it might just confuse the order taker. This is what I was told last time:P Yummy. Honestly, I could venture out of my box of obsession with this yummy sandwich, but I care not to cuz it's just so darn good!!

Business can get busy, especially on saturdays (post-LMYA and sports games) and Sundays (post church grub status) but its worth the 10 minute line. really. and once you order your sandwich its done really quickly. So...I stick to Biancas. It's good.

Great Sandwiches! This place has a mean lunch time crowed, so beat the rush. I had a pulled pork sandwich, which was amazing. My girlfriend, who introduced me to this place, had a turkey and avocado which was very delectable.
The people behind the counter were friendly and fast with the making of our sandwiches.
I would like to go back and try the Turkey and Cranberry, that sounds uber tasty!
