Great place. Need to get there early if you want a seat otherwise you will stand. TV's cover most angles so you can watch the game from most anywhere.
The staff is always pleasant and handle, the sometimes large volume of people, professionally.
Recommend a combo of boneless Thai chicken and have them put it on a cheese pizza.
Great bar food!! Â Excellent bone-in wings, both wet and dry rubs. Â Pizza is also great, very nice NY style thing crust which is so hard to find in Mass for some reason. Â Great service and very friendly staff. Â The food was all reasonable and ther are plenty of TV's to watch games etc. Good beer n pizza on a weekend afternoon place or for a quick bar food dinner. Â I will be back!
Review Source:Spectacular service!!!!
Everyone was sooo friendly, but never over bearing. The place serves basic bar food, nothing out of the ordinary. We had chicken wings and a salad. Â The wings were great & the salad very large. I took half of it home.
A blues band was playing while the Celtics were playing a Game 7. The band was great and there were there plenty of TV's.
I will definitely be back. And I plan on trying the pizza. I heard it's great!
We love the Black Sheep. The food is great for bar food and huge portions. The staff are all super friendly. The music is the best around and free. The pizza is the best around this area as are the buffalo wings. I lived in the buffalo area for 7 years and its really hard to find anyone that makes decent wings around MA.
Review Source:Wow! The food is great! We had a burger that needed an elevator just to get to the top!! Only kidding. The portions are very large and prices are VERY reasonable. Now, it wouldn't help if you got a lot of so-so food for a low price, however, that is not the case here. The burgers are outstanding, and the antipasto was very tasty. Didn't even need ketchup or mustard for the burgers. The pizza looked marvelous, so we will have that next time. The wings are a must try, as friends had those.
The music is really good with a warm vibe from the patrons. The servers were very efficient, no empty plate or glass sat on the table too long, and it was full house busy. The owners mingle with the crowd and really care. Lastly, the bathrooms are small, but clean.
If you are wondering if you should go there for some drinks, music, or a bite to eat- just go.
Welcoming environment, warm interior, friendly regulars/patrons, excellent pub fare, suprisingly good (for this area) pizza (Best wings and pizza in our parts, period), and the prices on food and drinks are more than reasonable. Nice tap selection to for those who want. Lots going on between trivia and karaoke nights as well as weekend evenings and Sunday afternoons of quality live music. Now, live music is approaching every Thurs though Sunday and the quality is excellent, rising way above normal barroom variety and, remarkably, never a cover charge (though I'd pay a cover to insure that quality). I'm astonished by how much good music is churning out of this small establishment.
Review Source:We found this cozy little tavern whilst looking thru an alternative weekly for live music on a Sunday afternoon. The invitational blues jam is hosted by regional favorite, A Ton Of Blues, comprised of seasoned veteran bluesmen. The deliciously-prepared food and hand-crafted drinks were very reasonably priced. The only con is they do not serve coffee at all. (I likes me hot toddies during the cold winter season, and with the occasional sandwich.) The Greek Grilled Chicken Pizza was topped with a cold Greek salad - yes, it sounds unfamiliar but the mixed crunch, flavors and texture made it unbelievably tasty! Â Come for the music and stay for the great pizza and friendly folk, you will not be sorry.
Review Source:My new favorite place! Â We ended up there to see a blues band we know about. Music is out on the deck. We're sort of turning into Sunday regulars for the blues show w/ A Ton of Blues. With the special guests it's like seeing a different (yet incredible) blues band every weekend.
The food is really good and the drinks are great too. It's sort of a haul to get there for us but even that's a real nice ride (We go on the street bike :-)
I go to Tuesday night Trivia at the Black Sheep -- best trivia around. Â John gives excellent musical clues that require you to really dig deep to create connections and find your way to the answer. Â
The pizza here is delicious, as are the onion rings, but you can never go wrong with pizza, beer, and fried foods, so who am I kidding?!
