If you're looking for a inexpensive place to get nice sized portions of Chinese food, this is it. The food isn't the "best" there is, but it isnt bad either. They deliver and usually in less than an hour. We've ordered from there a few times and I like the food, I've tried a few different dishes so far and I'm not complaining. My boyfriend did say the egg rolls weren't that great this last time, so if you're an egg roll fan you might be disappointed. Otherwise, I know we'll be ordering from there again.
Review Source:I truly dislike this place. Â I have had it a few times that my fiance made me go in because he has no tastebuds so doesn;t notice good from bad. Â But after my thrid visit last week, that is it! Â No more! Â I can;t stand this place. Â I thought I would play it safe and just order some fried Rice. Â Not only way the place smelly and gross inside but I waited over 15 minutes for my rice just to drive home to find out I got someone elses noodles. Â So I drove back, got my rice and wasn;t impressed with it at all. Â There was no scambled egg in it and it was flooded with soy sauce. Â YUK-O!
Review Source:We have eaten at Bo Mei many times. Â Well, I guess I should say that we have ordered for delivery several times from Bo Mei. Â The food has always been good. Â Not necessarily great, but it is good. Â Portion sizes are good as are the prices. Â We haven't had a bad meal from there yet.
Definitely worth going there or ordering from there.
Never again would I choose Bo Mei.
We have ordered delivery from this restaurant at least once before (possibly twice) with decent, if not great results. Normally I'd order from New Hong Kong (see THAT review - fantastic!), but they aren't open on Mondays. So we opted for Bo Mei, which is open 7 days a week.
ALL the fried foods (crab ragoons, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken) were very greasy. With the ragoons and chicken, I suspect they didn't have the grease hot enough, and instead of getting crispy food, it turned out greasy and, in the case of the ragoons, downright LIMP from the grease. (I've NEVER seen ragoons look like THAT!)
The won ton soup was... unique. TONS of vegetables, which is OK, but not usual in my experience. The won tons had big meatball wads of meat that made me nervous (looked undercooked) and were a little fatty. I couldn't even eat them. And the broth had very little flavor... almost like hot water.
Husband's dish was kung pao chicken... traditionally a SPICY dish (and the menu did say spicy). He claimed it was downright mild. No heat at all.
After we unpacked everything, I realized that I hadn't received the almond cookies I had ordered! Sure enough... they weren't "checked off" of the list (everything else was), but they were on the bill, and YES, we were charged for them.
Even the fortune cookies were sub-par! We couldn't open up the packs without them breaking into a million pieces.
And frankly, most Chinese places offer some sort of coupon to entice you, but our menu from the last visit had nothing. And come to think of it, they didn't even include a NEW menu with our delivery! There was ONE coupon... you have to collect TEN and then you get a free entree (that costs UNDER $6). They can keep it.
Hubby called to tell the management. Man on the phone said that he couldn't send us a new order unless we sent everything left back (hair included). Well, daughter sent hair to the wind (probably on our kitchen floor SOMEWHERE, but I wasn't going to look for it), and we didn't really WANT a new meal (blah!). We just wanted them to know we were unsatisfied. Of course, no effort was made to reimburse our money (and we didn't ask for our money back either). We told them we just wanted to make them aware.
They did offer to bring us the almond cookies... but that never happened.
So the way I show I'm grossly dissatisfied is by not recommending them and not going back. And I know you all don't know me, but it takes a lot for me to be this unhappy. :(
There are two kinds of good Chinese restaurants: fancy Chinese and Comfort Chinese. Â Bo Mei is definitely a comfort food Chinese restaurant.
Bo Mei makes great comfort food, and their soup is excellent! Â Portions are big and very reasonably priced (dine in dinner for two will run about $24 with tax, and that includes soup, egg rolls, fried rice, beef with peppers, sweet and sour chicken, and tea to drink.). Â Delivery is always a plus.
I dined in and service was fairly good at 9pm on a Saturday night. Â It seemed to me that most of their business is carry out or delivery, though.
Overall, I will recommend Bo Mei.
Our regular Chinese carry out restaurant was on vacation and I decided to try this place.  The ordered items included egg rolls (all cabbage), beef fried rice that was dry, bbq pork egg foo young that was very bland, beef chow mein that had plenty of beef but no flavor, and shrimp with lobster sauce (more watery than saucy).  The only item that wasn't  half bad was the fried shrimp.  Needless to say I thought the $35 tab was a waste of money.
Review Source:This place is great for take-out or delivery. The food is awesome, big portions, & very reasonably priced. I don't suggest eating in unless you have time to spare, that is why I took off a star. The service is always really sloooooowwww. Even if you are the only ones there they are just not very attentive. Â But def have them deliver or order ahead for pick up.
