My wife and I were going to a concert at the Casino Ballroom, so we decided to get something to eat. It was a nice night so we sat in the outside deck. My wife's food came and had a dead fly on it. We called the waiter over and showed him. His response was " It's because your outside". No if it was from out here it wouldn't be dead!! He then says " If I take it back they will yell at me". Asked to talk to a manager who was absolutely NO help!! We left and my wife contacted the General manager the next day. She was more than apologetic and said she was sending us a gift card. You guessed it, a gift card NEVER came!! We will not be going there again and have urged our friends that frequent the establishment throughout the Concert season to boycott them!!!

I will say right off the bat that the owner at Boardwalk is very nice but the kids working there are not very professional. Unfortunately, we had a disgustingly long hair in our crab cakes and had to send them back. We were offered drinks on the house and when the waitress recommend a blue martini, I went for it. I then heard the bartender sharing with a customer that he doesn't know why anyone would order one these-they are not good. Hmmm...well that didn't make me want to really drink it, but it wasn't terrible.

The food portions are huge and I absolutely LOVED the lobster salad.

A great location for an inn right across the street from Hampton beach but the restaurant left much to be desired.  We stopped here for lunch in early March as it was the only restaurant open.  Disappointing experience.  The tables were not very clean and the food was averaqge at best.  The mac n' cheese ordered from the kid's menu was dry and not very good even for Kraft mac n' cheese that it was labeled as on the menu.  The breading on the fried seafood was bland, the baked haddock was a very small portion and not very fresh and the fries were of the frozen variety.  Probably a good location in the summer for people watching but not a destination location for the food.

The food was pretty awful... the service was okay.  My wife had the twin lobsters and liked them.

I wanted a fried buffalo chicken sandwich but they only listed a grilled buffalo chicken sandwich on the menu. So I asked the waitress for a fried buffalo chicken sandwich and she declined to put in the custom order saying "the kitchen doesn't like that". How hard is it to make a fried chicken sandwich and then put some buffalo sauce on it ? So I order the grilled sandwich and it was extremely tough.

So this was the first place we eat at while staying in Hampton beach during seafood fest. I was attracted here because of their outside seating and I totally wanted to sit outside because it was a beautiful day out. We were seated right away and ordered our beverages, I order a bud light while my wife and mother in law ordered sodas. I was looking at the special board and they had all the "chip special" listed. Ya know fish and chips, shrimp and chips, clams and chips, whole belly clams and chips, and scallops and chips. We opted for the fish and chips special in which my wife and mother in law order and I order clams and chips. I was thinking what the hell, usually I am not all about fried food but I was on vacation. I really wanted fish and chips but my wife order it so I figured I would taste hers. While we were waiting on our meal I was looking in there menu which has pictures of their motel, I wish I booked a room here because they looked so clean and nice from the pictures, so jealous from our nasty ass motel we were staying at, oh well live and learn. The meals came out and they were the perfect portions for lunch. Great ratio of seafood to french fries. I was looking at mine and realized that they gave me the whole belly clams, I didn't care, I just wish that the clams were less sandy, nothing is worst than biting into a punch of sand. Yuck! I didn't eat all of them because the breading was coming off of them and it didn't taste or looking appealing. I did eat some of my wife's fish and it was delicious, so fresh and flaky. I knew I should have ordered the fish instead. No big deal my stomach was full and I enjoyed eating outside while looking at the ocean.

Worst lobster roll I've ever had.  There was plenty of meat (of course for $20 there should be) but it had absolutely no taste.  I mean nothing.  It was exactly like chewing on spongy tofu.   Probably had been frozen or something. The other stuff we had (clam chowder, fish sandwich) and the service, was OK, not great but about what you would expect for this kind of joint.  But they should be truly ashamed of themselves for serving such a poor excuse for a lobster roll, and at a premium price to boot.

I first went to this place a few years ago and was put off by a waitress who added extra tip on my credit card after I left. Called to complain and was told there was nothing they could do.

Second time I went recently was because it had been a long time and maybe it could redeem it's self. The service was awful, food cheap and seemed like it came out of frozen boxes.

I will never be eating there again.

I stumbled in this place and got some steamed clams and lobster bisque. (or lobster stew as stated on the menu.)  The clams were a little gritty, you really had to give them a good washing. The bisque was delicious! Very fresh tasting but also very rich. My friend got the clam chowder that looked good, but was apparently just so-so. Located right along the beach in Hampton, I would definitely go back. If you're in the mood they have live acoustic music at night as well. Nice rooftop patio and friendly service.

We arrived at the beach late for lunch and hungry, so we asked the guy at the parking lot where we could pick up some lunch.  He directed us a couple of blocks to the Boardwalk Cafe and Inn.  It was perfect.  We were given a choice of seating at their patio outside or within.  As it was hot out, we chose to sit inside, and the air conditioning was welcoming.  When the hostess sat us at a corner table with views of the outside, I felt like we escaped into an island of tranquility.  The lobster salad I had was a very good portion for $14.  Lots of fresh greens and lots of good solid chunks of fresh lobster meat, nice and subtle on the dressing.  The others at the table had a nice basket of fish and chips, a well made hamburger and a hot dog.  They've got everyone covered.

Good for lunch.   Two oysters on the half at 1.25 ea and a calamari  (nice tentacles!) basket with fries 7.99.  No, it is not fancy.  It is a beach joint.  The seafood is fresh.  The beer is cold.  The waitress was nice.  It was a Monday afternoon in August.  Life is good!

    it was okay
got fresh oysters...1.25 each on half shell and the famous "lobster ravioli" with fresh maine lobsters..they needa stuff it more with lobster!! $ 17. the wait was longggg. probably 45 minutes? service was okay. food came in adequate time. i would prob go back...the drunk people behind us were hilarious...the batthrooms be careful! they are so wet..! other than that, our waitress was nice enough to get us separate checks, saved the hassle of doing the math with graduality added for parties of 6+.

Lacking in atmosphere even with eating outside.  Sticky boring plastic chairs and tables.  Inside was rather dull as well.  Service was slow- then again this was in the fall when most of the fun about summer would have been over and the college kids were just around to make a couple of bucks instead of enjoying the season.

Get the seafood otherwise it really isn't anything to go for.  Deep fried scallops and clams were great piled on top of fries and onion rings for $20 (enough for two).

BLT sandwich was the usual to expect at $7.

Buffalo chicken, maybe about 5 pieces were rather tasty at $7.

This place is a favorite of mine on Hampton Beach.  I rated it four stars because for the type of food (pub grub, sandwiches, some entrees, drinks), it's good.  I really like their daiquiris.  Last year, I had a chicken stirfry in a half-pineapple, which to me, was one of the coolest dishes ever.
