Bob-O's Hot Dogs

It's a skinless wiener which was overcooked and mushy.  The non-poppyseed bun was fresh but soft.  On the plus side, the condiments were applied in the correct proportions and the pickles, onions and tomatoes were fresh and crisp.
The biggest highlight for me were the fresh-cut fries.  They were perfectly cooked.
All in all a serviceable hot dog but, as previously mentioned, not one I would go out of my way for.

When looking for the perfect Chicago hot dog you can be pulled in many directions. Some say less is more when it comes to toppings but i happen to like mine with everything. Bob-o's consistently delivers a fresh hot generous meal. Everything i have had there is very good, especially the fresh cut fries.  This restaurant is not small like another reviewer wrote and has seating inside and out. A couple other nice things about this neighborhood family owned business is that the staff is friendly and always keeps the place clean. I recently stopped in for a quick dog and ended up staying a little longer to read the paper and thats when my nose went crazy...... Crazy happy that is because they were cooking up something fresh in the back that was loaded with garlic, yum, probably starting another batch of Italian Beef which is also great here. Another nice twist they offer here is that you can get your dog or polish steamed or char grilled.
If you want a good fresh reasonably priced fast food meal Bob-O's is tough to beat.

This is the first time I've ever been disappointed at Bob-os.  I took a bite of my fresh-cut fry and it was lukewarm. They replaced the fries and then I bit into my hot dog which was bordering on cold.   I felt the need to console myself with an Oreo shake which I was told really was not a shake but that was ok because it was delicious.   When I told the lady at the register about my cold fries and hot dog she just shrugged her shoulders. Not even  an apology. Nothing, nada zip. I hope this was a just a fluke because it is hard to find good fresh cut fries.
