I liked this place for many reasons
1 - adorable staff who loved to chat with
2 - chill ambiance complete with exposed brick and opposite of pretentious
3 - delicious VEGAN food
4 - 100% VEGAN
5 - made our drive through Spokane on a holiday fantastic and filled us up with goodness minus the cruelty
and now for the food...
we each got a trio because honestly we wanted to eat each of the 13 dishes but settled for 6 tasty samples. Â between us we tried the hash (yum), mac and cheese (yum), beet and carrot salad (super yum), potato nicoise (yum), and spicy slaw (spicy yum). Â The flavors and colors were delightful. Â I love the no frills goodness of this place. Â most dishes could be eaten cold and enjoyed. However for the dishes which are better eaten warmed (mac and cheese and hash, for example) are nooked in a microwave which is a turn off. Â It's a small but important detail for me personally. Â
I have to say though I am thrilled and proud that there is a thriving joint like this in the area.
I'm not vegan and I never will be, but I try to eat healthy food that I like, with that in mind the food at boots is great, my favorites are the buckeye bar and the corn chowder. The cupcakes have a nice amount of frosting and there is always a big variety to choose from. My wife really likes the power greens and the tofu scramble. There's plenty of items I have not tried yet. The staff at boots is great very friendly and always ready to answer any questions I have. Boots has become one of my favorite places to eat out or just have a cup of organic coffee in spokane. If you haven't tried vegan food do so at boots and you'll be pleasantly surprised  :-)
