My wife and I have lunch together each and every Thursday. She works in the Fossil Creek area so we have lots of different restaurants to choose from. We hadn't been back to Boston's since February so it was time for a return visit. On this visit my wife had a wonderful pasta dish and I tried Boston's lasagna. I was hesitant trying lasagna at a "sport's bar/themed establish" but I was pleasantly surprised. The lasagna was quite good and I would definitely order it again on a return visit. Our server took excellent care of us during our visit providing "brisk" service.

Last night me and my husband decided to stop by Boston's after work for some late night meals and drinks after I got off of work. We were approached by a server which seem to not want to be working the night of round 7 of the Miami heat and Spurs game... It was around after midnight so the place wasn't that busy. We ordered two waters, pink lemonade vodka and a shiner bock. Then we proceeded to look over the menu which seemed forever to take. My husband ordered the pepperoni pizza and I order the shrimp tortellini. My husband pizza came out first and for them being known for their pizza it was not that great seemed like frozen and microwaved. Next came my plate the shrimp tortellini and I notice that no steam was coming off the plate... All the shrimp was cut in half so I'm guessing it makes it look like you have more shrimp... And I took my first bite and it was cold... Sent it back to the waiter and he said they would make me a new one. Too my surprise he brought me back the same one (I knew because I threw crushed red pepper on my first plate) so they probably got lazy and threw it in the microwave and I notice they threw in some extra salt I guess out of giving it back... After getting it back didn't really want to eat it. Wasn't really worth a 15$ plate... Could of had more and delicious pasta at Olive Garden. Also last thing I ordered was a shot of patron and they ran out of pineapple which took the waiter a long time to let me know. Didn't really enjoy this place and I rather go to my local bars like overtime bar and grill. Gave it two stars for atmosphere and cleanliness... Food was over priced for what you get... Customer Service was poor and unfriendly... Drinks took too long... So we probably won't be going back to the Boston's near Western Center.

Husband and I got a $10 gift card in mail and thought we'd give them a try. After reading other reviews I discouraged my husband from getting anything but pizza. He was going to get ribs. (Don't ask me why...) anyway, we both got house salads. they were fresh and cold- the lemon vin. was a great option and lemony goodness. I got a Margarita flatbread and added marinated mushrooms and onion. Him- thin crust supreme. They were both really good! Served piping hot, crust super crunchy, nice balance of toppings. And they have a big patio that we will try next time. Only complaint- the  servers (5-8) were hanging out at the hostess stand.

Man*age*ment (noun):  the act or art of managing: the conducting or supervising of something (as a business).

Back when I was fresh out of college, and thrown into my first post business degree job as a Manager at Abercrombie & Fitch (don't laugh), it was at this point when I began to learn the importance of the word "brand." How do you "brand" your business. This was instilled into our noggins, repeatedly. A & F were masters at branding. Why is this relevant to this review? Simple, I say: As a Manager of a chain (especially a restaurant), the Manager must be privy to all of the businesses latest promos and specials. Unfortunately, in my view, Management fails miserably with knowing what their current specials (i.e. coupons) are during any given week.

My latest visit on Friday, was similar to the previous two visits. I call in an order, and tell them prior that I have a coupon, and what the coupons is for. During each of these call in orders, the girl taking the order seemed befuddled, and not *clear* of what I was referring to. (This, in my opinion, is the fault of Management for not properly instructing their employees as to what their current specials are.)

Now, to be clear- I don't go to Bostons because their pizza is delicious, because it is not. I go here to escape the wife and child for a beer or two while I wait for my pizza. Oh, and because I'm frugal, and have a coupon too:)

But, on this last visit, it will be the final visit. I can understand, and be patient when there are honest mistakes, and misunderstandings; but, I can't tolerate laziness, and incompetence. And, most importantly, I don't deserve a disgruntled Manager acting as though he's doing me a favor, while he's being burdoned by correcting an amount on my check, to compensate for my coupon. If you as "Manager" trained your employees properly, this wouldn't be such an inconvenience for *you.*

Two stars for the bar, as this is a safe heaven from the stupidity you get at the to-go counter.

This was my first time at Boston's. To start off we had the appetizer that was the steak wrapped in bacon. It was pretty good. I wasn't a fan of the dipping sauce, but it really did not need the sauce.  I ordered the Cajan Chicken and broccoli with Florentine rice. The chicken was ok. It was not bad, but nothing special. The broccoli was steamed to perfection and i did not care for the Florentine rice as it had sun dried tomatoes and spinach which i dont care for. But my friend who likes those ingredients thought the rice was really good. My friend ordered the flatiron flat bread under the recommendation of our server. It was really really good! Our server was AMAZING! she was very knowledgeable and attentive. The menu is pretty large and varied. this place reminds me of Bj's brewhouse. Overall we had a good experiace and have plans to go back eventually.

I'm writing an update because I have decided to bump Boston's up to 4 stars.  After my last review, Boston's commented on my review suggesting that I really should try their pizza.  After all, it's their claim to fame.

To be honest, my biggest motivation to go back was to order the steak skewers again.  But I figured since I was there I'd go ahead and try the pizza.  Being that I am reviewing them, the least I could do is try what they suggest to me.

Again, I started with a beer.  Just as last time, it was very cold.  Definitely a good place to have a few beers now and again regardless of your appetite (and they are open pretty late too).  Oh, and of course I ordered some steak skewers.

So I thumbed through the pizza section of the menu.  There were quite a lot of options.  As mentioned previously, I'm usually not a fan of a lot of options, but most of it sounded good and creative.

Now I'm a sucker for bbq chicken pizza, so that's what I honed in on. I've got to say, I was pleasantly surprised.  The pizza was good.  Don't get me wrong, it wasn't on par with Cavalli's (nobody in Dallas really is), but it's a different kind of pizza too.  Cavalli's is very traditional neopolitan style pizza that's cooked in a wood fired stone oven.

The bbq chicken pizza was piping hot with fresh red onions, thick cut pieces of juicy grilled chicken, some cheddar/jack cheese combo, and a splash of bbq sauce under the toppings all layered nicely on a thin and crispy crust that held its shape.

But it was leaps and bounds beyond CiCi's, Pizza Hut, Dominos (you're probably thinking well I hope so those places suck). And you're right.  But it was also better than Double Dave's, Pie Five, BJ's Brewery and most of the other non traditional pizza places I've been in the area.

In closing, Boston's isn't so bad after all.  Not that they were bad to begin with, I just didn't see it as one of my regular stops for dinner throughout the metroplex.  Now that I've really given them a shot, that has changed.  You should give them a shot too.

Well, since I don't know how to respond to the Boston's comment left on my review I thought I would just do another one. So this is in response to your comment Boston's:

"Comment from Bostons R. of Boston's Restaurant & Sports Bar 2/7/2013    " Hide
Hi Kathleen, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience! We're not sure and would love if you could clarify whether you visited our Arlington, Fort Worth or McKinney location! We apologize for not providing you with a memorable experience, which is something we strive to do for every Guest upon every visit. If you wouldn't mind clarifying which location you visited, this will help us narrow our focus and identify where there is room for improvement. Thanks again."

Thank you for your comments, I noticed and I am impressed you would take the time to comment on all the reviews. Each restaurant on Yelp has it's own page so one only needs to go to the top of the page where the review is to find the location, which in my case was the Ft. Worth location. By the way your hostess was so kind to help us find the place since my GPS had us in some what of a "Bermuda triangle" on the other side of Ft. Worth heading for Weatherford. Thank God I called before we ended up in Odessa or Abilene! So I entered the restaurant with a very positive attitude to begin with.

It's not your fault that my visit was not memorable, I am a traditionalist when it comes to pizza and like I said in my review I do prefer the long established local Italian pizzerias. Designer pizza is just not my thing. Like I said not your fault. The pizza I had was not bad, I was not displeased with it, it just wasn't the pizza of my dreams which can be found in Lemon Grove, Ca where I grew up. They have been in business since 1957 and I have, until moving to Texas, frequented their restaurant since I was in my teens back in the 60's. The wait staff was very good and because it was Halloween, the place was almost empty so we felt like we had private dinning.

Now, having said that, I will say that I am pleased and impressed that you have gluten free pizza crusts as I have recently for health issues had to restrict my intake of gluten. I am therefore, looking at places differently and mentally compiling lists of restaurants with gluten free menu items which I will most certainly be willing to try if I am ever near a Boston's. My problem is the people I am usually with are the ones who chose the restaurants and I usually just go along. But now that I have this gluten issue I have a little more say in where we go.

Thanks again for your comment and the opportunity to clarify any questions  you have.

Went for first time and pretty decent alternative haunt for the family. Pizza, wings and other stuff. Service was good though waiter got my order wrong and I didn't realize until later. Not as noisy even though had a few TVs for us to watch sports.

Waiter did turn down music a bit when we asked.

I enjoyed Bostons. I ate their flatbread (which you can pretty much create your own) and their burgers. Both were really good. It's an enjoyable place and I would like to go back.

Love Boston's Pizza. The flatbread pizza has a very good flavor and is not that greasy. The homemade chips is very good but unfortunately the salsa was not very good. I think the salsa was by Pace or Old El Paso. The service and atmosphere was superb and will come back again with some home made salsa.

I had the fish and chips...I know ...why did I get fish and not pizza...it was bland and lifeless. I would not go back unless it was to get drunk.

I've only tried their Flat Bread but so far I'm addicted to it.  It's open till 2am so it's great to have an alternative to fast food when I've been working late.  I recommend the 4-cheese flat bread with sausage (my custom).

    Enjoy!

Their pizza is some of the best that I have had.  The Wife and I decided to try their lunch specials and try their food the other day.  This was a huge mistake since my burger was absolutely disgusting and her chicken was nasty.

    STICK TO THE PIZZA!

I live right around the corner and used to enjoy going to Bostons for drinks and maybe a pizza a few times a month. Now I pass by this place 3 times a day and wave. My biggest problem is the prices have jumped at least 20% recently and the pizza isn't all that great for the money they want. I'm a good judge for pizza being that I'm originally from Chicago and I know for a fact the pizza should be at least $2 cheaper for the quality of these pizzas. Another thing that boggles me is that I always seem to have problem getting major or local sports events on the TVs. Amazes me that they have so many TVs and rarely are they ever on the right channels.  I mean, the Mavericks or Rangers could be playing and they won't even have the game any TV.  has happened to me at least 3 times I've been in there. You would think they would hire someone to be on top of Sports Programming. Even when I ask them to change the channel they give me a puzzle look and it takes a good 15 minutes to get the game on the right channel. Booo Bostons!!  Sorry Bostons, it kills me to slam ya like this. Really wish you would go back to $2 pints and cheaper pizza. Would love to give you business again.

So, it's really hard to deny the fact that Boston's genuinely care about how things are going - enough of them pop by to check on you (and I mean that in a helpful way) - that you never feel like you're on an island. As for the fare, they mine familiar territory - the dinner staples of middle America (burgers, ribs, salads, pizza), eager and engaging service, and next thing you know you're full. It's pretty familiar, what with the laminated menus and the middle of the middle of the road menus, but spend a little time here, and they're not mailing it in. That really counts for something in my book.

All I know is I was flat famished when I dropped in recently and I led my way to a stacked burger with little interruption. That extinguished the hunger to be sure, but you give up a little knowing that the menu's not going to wax particularly clever, that the items may trend familiar, that you may not discover something altogether new. And that doesn't mean that they're not doing exactly what they said they were gonna do, or that they should be undersold for being consistent, which in my brief experience they are. There are other interesting additions, like trivia night which happens here on Tuesdays. You can eat there too, and you may win, you may not. Depends on the room. But still, you may well leave feeling a hair smarter. Or at least pleasant and full.

This chain is not too bad. The salad was deplorable, and they got my flatbread pizza order wrong. Thank God the steak and mushroom version they brought out was delicious. lol
This was a simple lunch and I suppose this place serves that purpose just fine.

This restaurant has nothing at all to the city, surprisingly they do serve Boston's own Sam Adams, but it's not the coldest beer in town. I got the pulled pork, nothing spectacular, not what I expected in Texas, my wife got the pizza, that wasn't bad, a bit chewy though. My baby had the children's spaghetti and meatball, awful!!!  The only edible part was the spaghetti. The sauce tasted worse than chef boyardee, the meatball was dry and tasted like a machine seasoned it. She wouldn't eat anything so we ordered some ice cream, which had a weird chemical taste to it.

The staff was very friendly and the service was very quick. I thought the restaurant and restroom were very clean. Thy give you an excellent first impression but that quickly goes away once you taste the food.

And yes the location is not right, it's about 10 miles off.

First trip was one star. Ordered a Taco Salad, and yes, I keep asking myself why I would order that at a pizza place. It was one of the nastiest things ever and probably the first time I didn't finish a taco salad.

Second time was much, much better, probably four or five stars. Got the pizza and it's very, very good, but don't remember which one I got exactly.

Third time, I ordered some healthy tomato/spinach pizza on thin crust, and it wasn't particularly good.

Fourth time, got an appetizer of potato chips and dip, which was unhealthy, but tasty. Also got a regular pizza again, which was just as good as the second trip.

So overall, not the most consistent experiences, but great regular pizzas and overall place to eat. Just don't... and I mean DON'T... think about ordering the taco salad.

LOVE the fried cheese ravioli.  Mac & cheese delish! Good service.  They never have Stoly's vodka for cosmos, that's why they only get 4 stars from me.  We also really enjoy the outdoor seating!
