The Brass Tap

Great place.  Beer selection is out of this world.  They had a variety of craft brews you cannot find anywhere else.  The only thing that keeps me from a 5 star is the service.  Too slow, but they do let you taste..

Brass Tap easily has the best tap selection in Round Rock.  In addition to rotating specials and limited releases, they have a great bottle selection.  And a decent happy hour.  Unfortunately, for a place of this sort, the waiters (who are invariably sweet, by the way) have a surprisingly scant knowledge of beer.  One brought me three different beers before finding the one I actually ordered.  Not a big deal.  I'm sure this situation will improve with time.  What I did take exception to was one of the managers (some bearded dude) rolling his eyes and looking annoyed when I asked a simple question about one of the beers.  Let me tell you son, as someone who visits beer bars and breweries across the country, the best beertenders are helpful and engaging.  They welcome questions and offer suggestions.  Take a trip down to Craft Pride and see how they do it, for instance.  While your servers are still working to learn about beer, I have a suspicion that your arrogance masks a lack of knowledge as profound as theirs.

This place looked really nice but was waayy to expensive. The cheapest beer was Purple Haze and that was like 6 dollars...really?? We will for sure not be going back...
