I am going with three stars and here is why...
The Good:
Happy hour on Friday... beat the clock. Great deal. 4-5, $2 beer. 5-6, $3 beers and so forth.
Friendly staff.
Great selection of Scotch and Whiskey.
The free chips are fairly good, and free (when fresh).
The Bad:
The food pretty much sucks (other than the chips).
Very expensive food for food that sucks.
Let me elaborate. My wife ordered the mini fish and chips. $5 for the happy hour special and that was actually a fair price for the serving size she ordered. She thought it was okay, but just okay. I ordered the Shepard's Pie and figured hey, Kimberly's review was a couple of years old so things are probably better now. Negative! Hardly any meat under the potatoes and the potatoes were not that good on it either. It was also very salty and just bleh. Come on... That should be one of the best items on the menu. $13 for bleh. Not again. Oh, and last week when we went in they gave us stale "fresh" chips. We asked for a new basket and all they did was drop the stale chips back in the fryer doe a minute and bring them out. Now we had greasy stale chips.
So, I think this place should get four to five stars for the beer, selection of whiskey's and staff, but 1one to two stars for food, thus bringing the overall rating to three stars. Â This place has a great atmosphere and a ton of potential... just get a new chef with a new menu... please.
