Nothing like being able to grab a good breakfast at the airport when heading out on a trip. Â Beats trying to rush something at home before leaving or some greasy fast food or sugary danish from some other airport place. Â It's great to see the Indianapolis Airport have local restaurants represented.
Review Source:Oh my. I wish I could eat this well in airports everywhere.
I love this place.
Here's what I've gotten the past two times I've been there...
Big crusty bread sandwich with lox and a fried egg all nice and runny. Crikey.
Also, a pint glass with soda water and rum (10 Cane (I often have breakfast for dinner)).
I ate at this Cafe Patachou before my flight back home out of Indianapolis. Best airport meal I've ever had by far. In fact it was good for a non-airport meal :) This whole company/group of restaurants is on point, and it's food offerings are very tasty. The quality really speaks volumes, and I like that they seem to actually care what they put in their food.
Hip Hip Hooray, for Patachou!
Just had an awesome breakfast this morning at Cafe Patachou. I had some time before my flight, so I decided to order an omelet. There were several choices on the menu so I asked the waitress, Janet, what her favorite was. She recommended the Bon Vivant Omelet, which consisted of ham Swiss onions and grainy mustard, which I ordered along with fresh fruit and cinnamon toast as sides. It was delicious! The grainy mustard gave the omelet a wonderful flavor. Hands-down the best omelet I've ever had - now I'll be trying to replicate it at home. Definitely worth a stop if you are at the airport and looking for a good meal, what a great surprise!
Review Source:A gem amongst the usual airport food. While my meal didn't blow my mind and certainly wasn't cheap (not bad for an airport it) was way above what I usually expect when traveling. I had the club with chips and it was solid. From reading other reviews the breakfast sounds great I just wasn't in the mood. Definitely worth a look.
Review Source:One of things I love about the Indianapolis airport is the number of true local businesses, and Cafe Patachou is one of Indianapolis' favorites. If I'm flying in the morning or afternoon, I wait to eat until I get to the airport. There is no other airport I can say that about, and I travel a lot. Â It is located before security, which is convenient if waiting with a friend or loved one who is not traveling.
A number of the delicious omelette specials are served with toast (wheat, white or cinnamon on either) and a cup of fruit. The fruit isn't the gross kind drenched in syrup; it is typically strawberries, pineapple, blueberries and apples.
For lunch, if I'm still not wanting a breakfast meal, I usually get the vegetable sandwich. As another Yelper mentioned, the advocado is always fresh and not black and soggy.
Also, the prices are reasonable for an airport and the quality of ingredients.
If you are unable to try Patachou when traveling through the airport, I would definitely recommend visiting one of their other locations throughout the city, especially for breakfast.
This is the Cafe Patachou located inside the Indy airport. It makes me so happy when I fly in on Monday AM instead of Sunday night, partly because it's open!
Patachou is a local Indy establishment and their food is delicious. I usually order an omelet, love the Hippie with a Benz or the Ham one with whole grain mustard, can't remember the name. Sometimes I have it with the fruit, other times I ask them to give me no toast, no fruit and sauteed veggies on the side, they accomodate.
Try the Ginger Twist hot tea, the brand of hot tea they use is fantastic, their coffee is excellent as well.
Hi out-of-townies, you might not know this brand. This Patachou brand is Indy's finest dining brand, and certainly the most successful. With a handful of cafe locations across town, and now, an artisinal Pizza joint, Napolese, this airport location gives you a pretty solid idea of what we experience outside of the airport. Although it's industrial carpet... many of the traits of pop art and colorful tile make up the place. The menu is downsized but not by much. You can still experience the Broken Yolk sandies and the solid omelette selections. This go round I went with the chicken salad sandwich. Fresh sourdough and fresh chicken, too. Sure there's mayo... but it's light and rests behind the chicken-forward flavor of it all. The bar options are a nice twist. From mimosas to bloody marys, bottom line is travelers drink so smart call by Patachou; yet again.
Review Source:This is the Patachou in the airport food court. It's outside security and has plenty of seating, so it's a good place to get a coffee or slice of cake while you wait for arriving passengers. Â You can also get anything on the menu made to go, so you aren't limited to the pre-made salads and sandwiches you see in the refrigerated case.
When my flight arrives early enough, I always grab dinner here since the downtown location isn't open past lunch.
Nothing beats a make your own omelette from this establishment! Â I frequently have an avocado, bacon & goat cheese creation and it never disappoints. Â The bacon is thick cut and flavorful-- you truly appreciate the pig's commitment to breakfast here! Â The avocado is fresh and firm as opposed to overly ripe and black and the goat cheese packs just the right amount of flavor. Â Don't forget to get the cinnamon toast served on their warm sourdough bread. Â The serve your own coffee bar is great if you like to mainline your coffee addiction. Â This airport location is the perfect place to eat comfort food that will mop up the residual sin from the red eye flight back from Las Vegas. Â Make time to eat here since it's location is prior to passing security.
