Great atmosphere! Michael the owner roasts beans right in the sitting area! The best collection of vinyl record jackets ever! Friendly and fun place. Support small business and get a great cup of joe.

I love this place.  Great People.  Great Coffee.

Caffe Amouri is a cute, local coffee shop that has a huge menu of drink options, more original drinks than Starbucks and super friendly baristas.

I usually come on weekends and the shop is bustling but not packed and am always able to find an empty table to hang out with my friends for a bit and a sip.

The pumpkin pie latte is still one of my favorite drinks here.  It's just sweet enough with a light cinnamon spice undertone.  I also really like the mochas which are very chocolately but also not overly sweet, allowing the nutty undertones of the espresso and cocoa beans shine through.  Delish.

The sizing is also generous given the amount of caffeine kick associated with even the small 8oz option, so while the pricing isn't cheaper than your typical chain coffee place the quality of ingredients and jolt is better IMO.

We came here for the coffee.  I had the Cubano and J had an Indonesian medium roast.  Taste is such an individual preference but neither coffee appealed to us. Loved the place, staff and the place was very busy on such a rainy day.  The rating is based on a max rating for everything but the coffee and lowered to 3* for the coffee since that is the reason we came here.

the only thing keeping this from a 5-star rating is the price. the coffee is very good, no doubt, but you'll have to pay 10 bucks for two pour-overs; nearly 15 bucks for two french presses. still, the people are lovely, and you won't find better coffee in vienna.

The Pumpkin Pie Latte was just "OK". Something about the flavor was a little off...keep in mind I have been drinking Pumpkin Spiced latttes from Starbucks for the past few years religiously and I just don't think this place compares.

The service was awful. We came on a Saturday at 2pm and it wasn't too crowded - I think there were only about 4 other customers waiting on drinks. Despite this, the staff seemed on edge. They literally yelled at my boyfriend for taking the wrong drink and caused an unnecessary scene after her apologized profusely. The woman who called out the drinks as they were ready refused to repeat herself - I wanted to make sure I didn't grab the wrong drink too. The blonde woman who was helping her gave me a dirty look and was annoyed that my boyfriend had returned his 'wrong drink' instead of throwing it away. I overheard her talking to her colleague saying "Ugh can you get that drink and throw it away". Her colleague didn't hear her so I grabbed the drink for her and she didn't say thank you or anything. She didn't even acknowledge my gesture.

I would be more understanding of the service it was during the morning rush, however this was at 2pm!! The place was almost empty. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

Their Pumpkin Pie Latte is pretty delicious and deserving of 4 stars. Even though my experience here wasn't the best, I'm not gonna lie - it was one of the better flavored lattes I've had. So despite the rant that is to follow, I recommend this place based on their coffee alone.

Now the reason for the 2 stars - I'm going to warn you, this will all sound very petty and childish. My illustration will water down my experience and seem like something I should brush off. But I'm a sensitive person! So my cousin picked up another customer's drink by accident, ONLY because when he checked with the barista, she told him that it was indeed an iced mocha (what he had ordered). Fast forward a couple minutes, the staff is yelling for my cousin's attention, "Hey! Hey! Dude! You took the wrong coffee!" in a loud and angry fashion...and in unison with hands up in a WTF pose. My cousin apologizes of course, to the baristas and to the customer whose coffee went missing. We get glared at. And that customer was even a bit snarky, like "yeah, how does mine taste?" My other cousin and I hesitate to pick up our own drinks. We double check and ask what drink is on the counter. The barista clearly is still bothered - she looks at the cup quickly, "It's probably a skim latte... we're working on drinks for the people BEFORE you." Okay. She was wrong. It WAS our Pumpkin Pie Latte.

Accidents happen. No need to yell and glare at the person who took the wrong drink by mistake. I know it was inconvenient for them, but they could've informed my cousin without the attitude and a new coffee could've easily been made. We left feeling uneasy and embarrassed. Needless to say, I'm hesitant to come back here again.

Coffe maybe good but they need better Tea when they handed me  the Tea menu they were out or no longer carried what was on there?

The coffee is quite good, and I often come here to study or work during the weekdays or even weekends...it's a nice, cozy atmosphere, and everyone's really friendly. Also, if you're particularly versed in your trivia, you can get 10 cents off your drink and feel really good about yourself by answering their daily trivia question correctly :)

It's a great coffee shop in the Vienna area. They have a good collection of teas. Ask for the tea menu. The drink named 'cafe amouri' is one of the best.
A little crowded in the weekends. But if you wait, you'll get a seat. I usually go there during weekends. You can easily find parking, either in their lot or in the street.
They have a nice selection of music. The first thing you'll notice is the records arranged on the wall. I think it's cool.

Love, love, love the coffee!  Fresh roasted beans and well done coffee.

I see some of the reviewers aren't as impressed but those seem to be for things other than coffee.  If you are looking for a good cup of coffee or espresso drinks that are made well from this is the place.

I live a bit away but we will find an excuse to go to this area just to get a latte or coffee.

I do have to say that I almost gave them 4 stars but only because I think a coffee shop should have some really good baked treats to go along with the coffee and I don't care for what they have to offer in that area, but hopefully they will improve that one day.

I can't get enough of mom-and-pops. They're a dying breed in this area. It always makes me sad when I hear about independent businesses closing. It stinks that more intimate, personal spaces can't hold their own against a chain establishment. That's why it fills me with such joy to have a place like Caffe Amouri in a quaint part of Vienna, only 20 minutes from my house (instead of 30-40).

The service is good, fast. The drinks taste fresher and more flavorful than any Starbucks concoction. My chai soy latte, compared to the coffeehouse chain's version, was spicier, more fragrant, and seemingly more natural. I'm not sure what the major difference is, but it's like getting a taste of fresh fruit in your smoothie after downing tons and tons of artificial powders.

I also feel right at home in this cute coffee shop thanks to the eclectic decor-mismatched tables, records lining the walls, and a coffee grinder right in the middle of the floor. I came on a Friday evening my first time and saw people had put out board games while others did the usual studying/web surfing on their portable devices. On that particular day, the customers were mostly high school and college students. However, Caffe Amouri seems friendly to people of all ages. The crowd on a Tuesday evening was more the 50s to 60s age range, and they seemed very relaxed and happy, too.

For all the things mentioned above (and anything I may have left out), Caffe Amouri is a winner in my book.

Ewww Ewww Ewww Ewww! I got a Georgia Peach tea here last night, and I'm regretting it badly. Honestly I've never tasted a tea this horrible. I spent $3.08 on it only to end up throwing it out after a couple of sips. I tried to bear it without success. Worse part was I got it to-go and didn't really start sipping on it until after I left to go home from Vienna. Otherwise I would have taken it back to switch it out.

Eek! Methinks not is very correct. First impression made a lasting one. I'm sorry I'm not on the bandwagon with the other 5 star people. For what it is worth, the people who work there are extremely pleasant.

I was turned on to Cafe Amouri by Maple Ave Restaurant, as they serve french press which uses Cafe Amouri's fresh roasted beans.

There are few reviews I've given in which I can definitively use the word "best," but I'm going to use it in this one.

    BEST COFFEE I'VE EVER HAD

Between the french press and the iced white mocha, this place destroys Starbucks -- And that's NOT a slam on Starbucks. I love Starbucks and will continue to go there (due to convenience) for the rest of eternity.

There is just something so very fresh about Cafe Amouri's coffee. Something that I've never experienced before with other coffee. From the first sip, the deep coffee flavor -- even in something as dessert-y as a white mocha -- takes over and changes your religion.

Yeah, it's a small place and it can get crowded, but it's worth it. We drive from Bristow for the sweet nectar of the coffee gods.

Do yourself a favor and try the french press first.

Aside from the coffee the breakfast sandwiches and muffins are pretty good. Not the "best" I've ever had, but who cares. The coffee is and that's all that matters.

Oh and the price seems to be cheaper than most Starbucks..I think. Felt cheaper, but that might be because I was intoxicated by the coffee.

Came here on a Saturday around noon time and boy, was it crowded!

I tried the Pumpkin Pie Latte ~$4 which was so-so. I actually prefer Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte. It was a little too strong/sweet... I also tried the Chocolate Croissant which I believed was just a little old/stale. I guess that's because it was later in the morning and because it was the last one. A little more chocolate inside would be nice too!

Overall, the beans are fresh (you can actually see them in the center of the store!) but I'd try something else next time.

A friend of mine had discovered this place  on a whim and recommended I try it. So we ended up at caffe amouri. When we first walked in you could smell the coffee beans...that might have also been because we walked by bags of whole beans lol. But right when we walked in you could see it was a comfy spot to enjoy your coffee. The bright colors from the décor made it feel very comforting. The chalk written menu  was fun to look at. I decided to get a vanilla latté something simple but familiar. I was pleasantly surprised. The latté wasn't over milky tasting which was good usually when I get coffee it taste more like milk then coffee. The vanilla enhanced the coffee by giving it a bit of  a caramel toffee taste. It was interesting considering I usually order a plain latté. I'm really glad a friend recommended this place to me because nothing is better then supporting a local coffee shop rather then  then mainstream for mediocre coffee.

Overall a fun place that I will return too if I want a good cup of coffee. Or if I just need a place to unwind.

The cappucino is really just warm milk. No coffee flavor at all. Plus it's hot and crowded and messy in there.

No matter how far I move away from here, I'd always come back for this coffee shop :).

Very cozy, warm environment w/ heart-warming people! Love them so much.

I used to be a *add maximum amount of sugar and milk in my coffee* or *Super sweet n' chocolate-ey latte* person until I came here.

I enjoy their regular coffee black. I've had several delicious coffee hours away from my house, but I'm so glad I found one around my area!

If I do get a latte, I just get a regular whole milk latte. Very smooth and creamy!!! Never need sugar again.

They have Open Mic every Saturday night.
It's very nice just sitting and listening to people sing, tell poetry, stories, etc. :)

I'm less of a coffee drinker than I am a sweets eater, so while I'm not qualified to comment on what constitutes a good brew, I'm probably overqualified to offer my opinion on pastries, cakes, cookies, and the like.

The sweets at Caffe Amouri never fail to deliver! Sure, if you show up at 10pm on a Friday, what you're looking for might be conspicuously absent from behind the refrigerated glass enclosure, but hey, if that's the case, give any of the other assorted delicacies a try! I don't know who's responsible for preparing the desserts, but I'd like to commend them for showing restraint with the sugar!

The employees have always been polite and helpful, and this place is one of the few establishments where I enjoy leaving a tip in the tip jar. (Yeah, the crew at the Dunkin' Donuts down the street, they know what I'm talking about!)

Go to see the Housewives of Vienna on a weekday morning, or and up-and-coming guitar and singer duo from GMU on a weekend night, whatever you're preference, if you like coffee and/or sweets, you'll probably like Caffe Amouri.

We stopped in on Friday night because we had heard what wonderful espresso they serve.  We were not disappointed.  Not only was the espresso very good, my Dark Hot Chocolate with Skim Milk was delightful.  They make it with actual chocolate bars and milk rather than syrup, and I can certainly taste the difference.

I even burned my tongue because I was trying to rush the delicious goodness!

Terrific.  Just got the cortado, finally a shop in VA that serves great coffee.  The atmosphere is very comfortable and the espresso is clearly roasted fresh.  The cortado aftertaste is very smooth.  Thank you for bringing terrific coffee to Virginia.

Walked into this place on a cold evening after having sushi right across the street. It didint seem "commercial" nor did it seem like some granola lovers hobby shop. Seemed just about right. The ambiance wasnt artificial, it seemed like a cozy, kinda hip but not hipster type of place. Had some live music (saturday night) and the guy playing was cool.

Now for the espresso drinks...they know what their doing. I even asked about another drink and the barista explained it perfectly. My cappuccino was perfect. Unlike starbucks, they know the difference, even the subtle ones between similar drinks.

Awesome place. Support support, I will. Yum.

I'm not going to bash but I wasn't blown away by this place either. Its really really small and very limited parking so parking could be difficult. The inside looks cute but couldn't find a place to sit inside. Fortunately there was one table not taken outside but it was cold! I had a Masala Chai which was served hot enough to melt your insides off let alone grasp the sides of the mug so I guess that evens it out. 20 minutes later I was able to take a sip. Its better than Starbucks though and I'll keep this place in mind to try out again.

Amouri is definitely above average - supposedly they roast their own beans on site but I didn't ask too much about this.  This is a plus, but I didn't like how the beans were stored - exposed to too much light and air.  There were a couple of single origins that were available - the one I ordered from Costa Rica was solid - not acrid or bitter and had a nice smooth finish.

I'd like to see some more information on when the beans are roasted but maybe this is a bit snobbish of me.  If I was in the area again, I'd definitely stop by - notches above the chain places.

Fabulous little coffee shop! I'd give the 5 stars but they messed up part of my order so had to wait twice as long :(

They have about 20+ varieties of coffee and lots of loose tea options too. Very friendly staff & they pay attention to detail. It's worth the wait; don't expect to come here & get your coffee in a flash.

Love this place.  Good service and coffee.  It's just good to see a coffee shop that is privately owned.

The place is cozy without being too small, and you can see them roasting their coffee in the store sometimes (they have the roaster right in the middle of the cafe).  One thing I really like about this place is that you can get coffee in a french press.  I drink a lot of coffee, specially when I'm in front of my computer, and their french press yields about 2~3 cups.... great deal for great coffee.  I also tried some of their loose leaf teas and they are very good as well.  They also sell pastries (I believe they get them from a local bakery in Vienna) and the scone is really delicious.

Definitely one of my favorite places in Vienna =)

This place makes delicious smoothies and what I believe to be the best vegan "au lait" in the area. The soy milk is scalded slowly and frothy and it is just delicious. I like going in with a good book in the early mornings and grabbing a big cosy mug.
They have a loyalty card too where you can rack up a free drink after so many. Not terribly inexpensive, but they serve high quality, well-made delicious beans. To me, it is worth it.

My boyfriend lived in Vienna and we used to go to Caffe Amouri regularly. I loved that the staff was friendly and approachable and you were guaranteed to get a good cup of coffee with a great, casual ambiance. They have 14 or so tables inside and free wireless. I've tried a few of their muffins and pastries and liked them much better than the poor selection you usually find at Starbucks. I agree with the other reviewers; skip Starbucks and go to Caffe Amouri.

There is a small parking lot behind the building which I've always found a spot in.

I would highly recommend a trip to Caffe Amouri!

The staff here drives me insane. They have no formal process for filling orders. They just repeat the order 5 different times to 3 different people hoping someone will fill it. They've never had me repeat my order, and they have yet to get my order wrong, but I still get gray hairs just listening to these kids try to fill orders.

Example (drink has been substituted, because my memory isn't that good):
Employee #1: Can you make some chocolate milk?
Employee # 2: (While making an order) Can you write that down?
#1: What are you making now?
    #2: Chocolate milk.
    #1: That's the order.

    Really, kids? Really?

I ordered a large pineapple smoothie (which was amazing by the way, it was bursting with so much flavor I would think it was made with an entire pineapple) and Kid #2 handed me my cup with the lid and straw on the side, because the smoothie was overflowing. Um, I appreciate you trying to ensure I get everything I paid for, but I'd rather the excess smoothie be in the sink instead of on my clothes. The smoothie did start to spill out as Kid #2 handed it over to me, and another employee just laughed. These kids are crazy.

I also ordered a grilled cheese with cabot cheddar cheese. It came with a side of lays potato chips (blah). The grilled cheese was okay. It was visually unappealing in that the cheese didn't look to be fully melted, but I didn't taste any chunks of cheese as I bit through the sandwich, so that was a relief. I probably wouldn't order the grilled cheese again, but I will definitely come back for the pineapple smoothie.

I will also come back to read Hannah Montana books as I charge my phone. The give a book take a book bookshelf is amazing, and whoever put the Hannah Montana book there gets 5 stars.

Tucked away in the corner of a little square on Church Street is Caffe Amouri. This is what you think of when you think "local coffee shop". The interior is laid with wood throughout, and they've got a large chalkboard for their menu of drinks and other items. However, the thin you'll notice when you walk in is their large coffee grinder that sits right next to the counter. It's a unit imported from Italy and gives the place a cafe-nerd charm.

Service is friendly, and I think a bit on the slower side. That's not a strike against it because that's exactly what you're looking for when you come here - a more personable and laid-back kind of way to relax and sip your latte.

Best coffee shop in the area.  No competition.
On the downside, its just a coffee shop.  Not much seating area, but if you find a seat the ambiance is pretty nice.  A few seats outside to enjoy the weather with a great view of the small parking lot.
Small bike rack out front, never had a problem finding parking on it.
    Great service, knowledgeable staff.
Come here to get your beans, your coffee, meet your friends, meet new friends.

I was antique shopping (don't judge) nearby and the inexplicable and sudden urge for a hot chocolate hit me. Rather than heading to Starbucks, I consulted yelp, who wisely highlighted this place for drinks.

Their hot chocolate is nothing less than out of this world. They use actual chocolate discs and you can order milk, semi-sweet and dark chocolate which is perfect for those of us (read: ME) who love dark chocolate and less sweet cocoa.

Service was super fast and friendly and in case you missed the first two paragraphs of my review, THE COCOA WAS DIVINE!

If you're in the area, this is definitely worth a special trip. Ahem, it's not too far from Tysons Corner/Galleria. Just sayin...

This is a coffee shop with flavor.  The interior decorations are cozy, somewhat cluttered, but overall warm.  It's a little crowded but it just kind of adds to the atmosphere.  I have done work here before, but if you need a quieter place and/or a lot of table space, I would check out somewhere else.  Great place to catch up with a friend though or read a book.

It definitely has its own spunk.  I love that they have a trivia question each day and if you answer it right you get 10 cents off your order.  I've never answered one correctly yet, but I am glad that this small business is doing its part in promoting intellectualism for the commoner (more on this at another time...).  Their blackboard menu is...overwhelming to me though.  I always think I know what I want when I go up to order but I get there and then it's like a blank void fills my brain.

I have tried their regular coffee, hazelnut latte, and the caffe amouri.  Their regular coffee is good and I am interested in trying their other blends.  Their espresso is pretty decent in general, the latte was alright.  Their signature drink, the Caffe Amouri, was deliciously smooth, slightly sweet, and rich but in a dangerous way.  Like, I wouldn't want to actually watch it being made since I think it has a good amount of half & half.  But we'll pretend for now that it is low-fat.  They also have some options for munchies including some tempting baked goods.  I have tried their chocolate croissant and was not disappointed.

They also have a lot of events that happen in the evening.  I unknowingly walked in on a cooking class tasting, for example.  So, while I was working furiously at my computer, I was interrupted every few minutes to sample a bite of their delicious-ness.  Hey, no complaining on my end on this!

Parking lot is small and crowded...but so is the inside.  Also, watch out for trying to park or leave when the dance studio is switching classes.  I got stuck in the back parking lot for a good 15 minutes as every mom in Vienna dropped off or picked up their child from the next-door studio.

Terrific to have a solid alternative to your daily Starbucks boredom.

Caffee Amouri has usually two fantastic brews on tap ready to be served and get you out the door.  Their medium and dark roasts rotate enough to keep you guessing when you go in, which is always a pleasure.  I don't live super close, so I get bags to-go and the #7 is terrific.  You want to knock your socks off and get the morning going, pick yourself up #7 and you'll understand the meaning of 'get-up-and-go'.  Awesome brew!!  The owner is usually milling around and will probably grind your beans and give you some insight into his newest concoction.  The atmosphere is quintessential coffee house with their roaster right up front.  Go here enough and you'll be remembered by name, it's that kinda place.

Don't forget to peek at the question of the day... you get 10 cents off your order and it's fun to play along.  I wish this place was out front on a main street; although, it's popular enough as it is.  Usually a line of 2 - 5 people getting their morning geek on.  The parking is not adequate for this cafe's high volume (even though it's a hidden gem) and the other business that utilize the same lot.  Get here before or after the typical morning rush and you'll be treated to one of the best coffee's of your choice in NOVA by far.  Hell, the Tri-State area!

Wonderful little coffee shop!  I was searching for the Great Harvest Bread company. which I never wound up going to after I spotted this little gem.  Friendly and knowledgeable staff and honestly I think one of the best cappuccino's I've had in the area.  The #7 Roast was absolutely smooth and the soy foam was perfect.  Love their selection of pastries, but most impressed that they roast their beans in house.

I left at first with a sample of the #7 roast to try it as drip coffee at home, but then since they were so nice to give me a free sampling of beans I just bought a bag since I don't live nearby.

Can't wait to try the coffee at home.  I'll definitely be back if I'm in the Vienna area.
