Caffe Sanora feels kind of like sneaking into a family reunion that's not yours and being welcomed with open arms anyways. Everyone seems to know everyone and the vibe is all smiles.

I especially love the huge, cozy dining room style chairs near the back. (There's a photo somewhere of them). This is the money table! Great view of everything going on inside and outside but also with the space needed for some serious productivity.

The patio is the best I've seen at a cafe. It is huge, has tons of seating, and overlooks the always interesting Colfax Avenue. People watching is in full effect even at the early hours of the morning and the steady stream of people wandering in will keep you on your toes.

The menu is perfectly priced and the breakfast options are decent. Fresh quiches, breakfast burritos, homemade oatmeal, scones, and even some gluten-free fare. I love that the have "cambric tea" on the menu. I got a delicious brew with Vanilla Almond Rooibos and the creaminess was the perfect way to start my day.

With this level of friendly, I'm boldly guaranteeing you will walk away from this place feeling a little happier.

A pleasant departure from pub food and the regular bar happy hour! This is version 2.0 for Caffe Sanora, my old favorite coffee hang spot, more seating and a growing menu of Italian cuisine. The meat and cheese plate with these artesian Salumi meats (locally made), make me smile, great wine choices for happy hour and Avery Brews... The Welcome Back is bigger and better and I am sure I won't be able to get a seat soon!

Well we have walked by this numerous times. So this Tuesday (2/12/2012) we stopped in at 3PM. With regret now I realize what a gem we had missed. Do not be put off by its small size. The patio is very good people watching location on Colfax.

First must say they offer fresh pastries and coffee in morning. NO hot food although have a weekend Brunch which will be tried soon. Yet maybe not.

The reason to go there is their superb Italian pasta and dishes. The meat lasagna was outstanding. When we arrived they were just making the lasagna. The The eggplant rolotini was also outstanding. Both were served with a really peppy red sauce, just a little spicy. It was not like many places a red juice poured on top.

The pasta was thick, and a little chucky. It was fabulous. Not the mushy noodles so common. They had a very fresh taste to them. The servings were perfect, actually could have enjoyed more pasta.

The wine and beer selection was more than adequate. All the beers were from microbreweries. While they have Happy Hour at 4PM, we were early. The wine selection also was very interesting.

While did not try did see 2 of their salads. The looked fresh and were medium size. I am very sure if you do try this restaurant you will leave full and pleased. Our service was excellent .They have live music on Friday evenings.

Way more than your standard coffeehouse. From the outside signage, it gave me the impression it was a local, small boutique coffee business. I was 50% right on the small business part. They go beyond by offering wine, real food (Italian-themed), and all kinds of coffee drinks to boot.

A couple of super nice folks run the operation (owners?), so its probably not a teen hangout. Instead, attracting a 20+ crowd. During the day, it's a great place with a moderate amount of business. Great for writing, thinking, small chats, or working on that big proposal (sales, or marriage planning -- one in the same?). At night, well...it probably heats up a bit...so I'll try to check that out sometime for a glass of wine.

This is a mile or so away from ultra cool downtown. Instead, this is is a bit hipster, casual, while still being modern. Wood floors, high ceilings with exposed pipe (but not old, newer and painted black), floor to ceiling windows, a bar-like setup with a handful of high-chairs, 8 tables inside, and a ton of tables outside on a big streetside patio.

I didn't try any of the food, and not a ton of selections...but gosh, so reasonably priced. For example, Pastas ($8-$10), Entrees (Parm, eggplant, lasagne...$9-11), Sandwiches ($7-$9), and Salads ($6-$8). Coffees are really reasonable, I had a large drip for $2.10! The kitchen part has shorter hours (starts later, closes earlier), but snacks/goodies are available always in the more-than-welcomed muffin/cookie category (yahoo!). The desserts offered could be upgraded, as well as the display of what they do have. While each may be fresh, they are individually plastic-wrapped...not my favorite.

This place is really unassuming and quaint. you could totally walk by and never see it, but I'm so glad I did. The food is phenomenally good Italian cafe fair. The espresso drinks are hand tamped and pulled by lever. The pastries are done in house and the bacon cheese scone is one of the best pastries I've ever eaten. The caprese sammich is my fave. I was told by the hunky chef that they are going to start family style Sunday dinners, by reservation only. I'm getting in on that!

I began my second day in Denver looking for a café to start my day. After seeing a high rating of this café from my device, indeed I have found a really good one to start my day, which is also walking distance from my hotel.

The café is also a wine bar with a good selection of local wines and a few local draught beers on tap. There is also a kitchen for the professional chefs preparing salads, sandwiches and other pastries.

Yes, I started my day with a latte made from the Rainforest Alliance Certified Coffee Company. The $4.00 cup of Latte was strong and the foam made with organic milk is very rich and creamy. I also got a $2.50 Blueberry Muffin to top off my treat. My breakfast: http://www.yelp.com/biz_…

I was sitting at these comfortable chairs with free WiFi. As comfortable as the chair was with the cool surrounding, I can actually stay here all day. "But why would I want to do that when I'm on vacation?" My seat: http://www.yelp.com/biz_…

This is a café just like home. And I love this café. The staffs were very chatty with me. I feel very welcome here.

For some reason, not a lot of good cafes around this area for breakfast/coffee.

Very happy with Sanora - good breakfast burritos, great pastries (I snagged a fresh blueberry muffin hot out of the oven that was incredible), and good coffee. Combine that with a fun location along Colfax for people watching and reading the paper - perfect!

I'm on Colfax.
I'm early for dinner.
I would like an espresso.
"Look, a coffee shop that isn't Starb***s."
I walk inside, order a double espresso.
It is served in a real espresso cup.
I sit, enjoy my beverage and read the paper.
I smile.
This is a real coffee.

The Prices here seem a little more affordable than you might expect. That was a pleasant surprise. My double espresso was pretty tasty. The seating, indoors and out, is rather good. The staff were nice and friendly. They also serve beer, wine, and some food.

Great atmosphere, great coffee, and great service. This place is my absolute favorite local coffee shop. I have never been disappointed when I have stepped through the door there. Perfect place to bring a book and have a delicious cup of coffee. Highly recommended.

I was on a recent trip to Denver to hang out with friends and attend a local rodeo. I got in late Thursday evening so when I got up to wander around the Colfax area Friday morning my first goal was to find a local coffee shop. I figure if I'm on a trip out of state I should check out the local businesses, not the corporate conglomerates. The kind folks at the front desk of the Ramada quickly pointed me to the coffee house across the street. Off to Caffe Sanora I wandered.

Being from Seattle I'm used to my coffee being cranked out quickly so, as I stood in the line watching the barista hand crank everything I was wondering when I was ever going to get to put in my order. I reminded myself I was on vacation and to relax. As I was looking around I took notice of all fresh pastries so I nabbed a scone with fresh strawberries. When I got up to the counter put in my order watched the gentleman make my latte, paid for that and the scone I sat outside on the patio to enjoy the recent purchases. Damn - that was a good latte, and the scone was a crumbly delight. So, the wait was well worth it.

Thanks to Caffe Sanora I've discovered a great local place for good coffee and wonderful tasty morning treats. On my next trip I'll be sure to pay them a visit or two again!

Great food, and friendly service. Brand new clean & shiny location.

I especially love the Italian cold cut sandwich (although it's hot, so misnamed?). I'm not a fan of coffee anywhere, but they sell Bhakti chai, many awesome hot teas, and a good iced green tea. Baked (on-site) goods change daily and are always tasty.

Bigger and better, with a bar to sit at no less. Caffe Sanora has reopened two doors down on the corner of Colfax and Marion. Love the new space and expanded menu. Stopped by for happy hour recently to grab some beers and try the food. I had the mushroom bruschetta and my husband had the Italian sandwich (which comes with a side salad). Really delicious. So happy they are back. Yay!

Hands down one of my favorite coffee shops in Denver and trust me, as a graduate student, I love me some coffee shops! The coffee is organic and delish (and from Honduras!), the pastries are fabulous, but more than anything I come here for the people.
I moved to Denver 3 years ago and this coffee shop was right around the corner from my house. I have continued to go here because of the "community" that has been created around this shop. Everyone knows everyone and if they don't know you, you'll be included immediately.

I love the staff here and the owner, David, is incredibly genuine... oh, and handsome ! :)

(Also, 2 hr parking behind the shop- - but they don't tow so you can certainly stay there longer than 2 hours or park on Lafayette for free too!)

Great place for coffee and homemade morning eats. They actually know about coffee here. Also, the patio is nice on a weekend morning. Bring your laptop and jump on their wifi.

Tip: Buy your coffee here.

Love this coffee shop! Fresh pastries, and delicious coffee at reasonable prices. It also has a patio on Colfax for your people watching pleasure. I also like that I'm not blasted with corporate upselling. They are always fast and pleasant.

Unless you're one of the barista's friends, you'll be completely ignored. It's frustrating trying to give your order while the barista is constantly talking (and even yelling) to her friends coming/going or already in the cafe. I've given them many chances and it's always the same... they make me stand at the register, awkwardly holding out my money, waiting for them to finish a conversation with their friends before they'll take my money.

Oh, and what's with the Target (the store) brand coffee sleeves? Is this coffee house really so desperate that they have to start jacking sleeves from Target to use on their cups?

I'll forgo the organic coffee and go somewhere that acknowledges me and thanks me. This is why little mom and pop coffee houses go under-- lack of customer service. Starbucks dominates in the customer service area.

I have been going to Sanora since Dave opened the shop. It is without a doubt one of the best coffeehouses in Denver. Their coffee taste is incredible, the service is great, and there is a real sense of community there which just makes it a cool place to hang out. Dave also has a knack for hiring folks. The staff are all extremely friendly. The baked goods (made in house) are also the best I have found anywhere. They serve breakfast burritos from Bocaza (another fav of mine. I just get their drip coffee, but have heard people rave about the espresso based drinks (mochas, lattes, etc). Don't miss this place!

This place is my favorite patio on Colfax, I love people watching, playing chess, sharing cigs, laughs and awkward conversations with bums.

The coffee is...well coffee, it doesn't suck and it isn't mind blowing, but I keep coming back. I don't know the guy who owns/works the counter but he's about as cool as they come and has great customer service.

But, what I totally love is the baked goods they got. Sometimes its hard to get quiche for some reason. And technically even here, but when they have it, I am in heaven. They also have these croissant egg bacon breakfast bliss things...that are just the cats pajamas.

The happy hour rules too, can't remember the time, but its cheap ass Budweiser if I recall, and I am so pumped on a happy hour that doesn't involve PBR. Aka the most annoying beer in the world.

The best neighborhood coffee place ever. Free wi-fi, and owner David Boyan is great. So are his baristas. Addition of wine and beer for later hours has created a more social vibe for all hours.

This place feels more like a lobby than a coffee shop. What little seating they have is uncomfortable. No tea selection. I live less than a block from this place, and I walk over to Gypsy house (which is several blocks away) anyway.

Being as it is that I am able to count the number of times I have purchased and drank coffee on one hand, I am really in no way a reliable judge on the tastiness of said drink. Now, having got that out of the way, I freakin LOVE the coffee here. I am actually thinking of taking up this habit of which I have so avoided throughout my short life just so I may indulge in the deliciously organic blends of coffee that Sanora has to offer. Perhaps it was the company of my beautiful coffee aficionado companion, or the sheer excitement of my first cup in years that made the drink so good? I shall not know until I return there alone someday to find out.

The tea is great as well.

This is a great coffee shop. Dave the owner really is a good guy. All of the coffee is organic and a cup of joe is still under 2 bucks. They recently got there liquor license. So now you can have your morning coffee then your afternoon beer. They also serve breakfast burritos, quiche and normal coffee shop pastries. The patio is where to be. You can grab a paper or just people watch everyone on Colfax. I can not even muster a bad thing to say about this place.

I stumbled upon Caffe Sanora by accident one afternoon while apartment hunting. I needed a cup of joe and this was the first I spotted. I was pleasantly surprised, given that this is Colfax. The guy behind the counter (who had a dark hair and a goatee) had to either be the owner or manager. He was genuinely friendly and happy to help. I ordered just a cup of house coffee to go but it was a GREAT brew, and as an added bonus it's organic and only about $1.60 (it's $1.80 if you stay but it's a free refill).

I haven't moved to the neighborhood yet (one more week to go) but made a trip out of my way yesterday to go again. Again I got a cup of house coffee and also pulled a generous piece of spice bread from the day-old-for-a-dollar bin - which for being a day old was super yummy and who can beat it for a dollar?? Again the same guy was at the counter having a funny conversation with another guy about football. Everyone in there seemed to be "sane" locals that enjoy the spot, which gave the place a great neighborhood feel.

This is definitely another diamond in the rough that is Colfax Ave!

Pros: Cheap but great organic coffee, yummy day-old goodies, friendly service

Cons: Patio seating is right on Colfax

Caffe Sanora was nearly my second home when I was unemployed (it's a tie between here and Pablo's). I would go and job search with their free wifi while drinking a most likely comped coffee and eating a breakfast burrito (for dinner).

I like this place because the coffee is great and the people that work here are down-to-earth, awesome, and real. The baristas here have always been more akin to my favorite bartenders than anyone I'd meet at Starbucks. Example: when I mentioned I was apartment hunting (totally in passing), the owner gave me a number for a local landlord at my next visit.

I love that kind of thing.

The anti-oxidants in the coffee may make me feel better inside somehow, through some chemical reaction. But the wonderful people who work here probably have a little more to do with how happy this place makes me.

One thing I loved about this place right off the bat was that its patio was bigger than its inside. When I found out the free wi-fi worked out there I did a happy dance. Well, I did one secretly inside my head anyway. It's strange how often places with outside areas have free wi-fi that doesn't work out there.

They are pet friendly here so if you like to bring your dog you can. And I believe one of their tabletops is a chess board so if you like to play games of the mind you can do that, too.

I had an Americano made by our own Robert A. and I'm not being biased in any way when I say it was damned good. And as I sat outside, typing away at my laptop I was able to do lots and lots of interesting people watching courtesy of our most interesting street - Colfax.

A relaxing, pet-friendly environment with great drinks- I'm a coffee drinker, but I was in the mood for an Italian Soda, which was delicious. This is a spot to go when you have a few minutes to sip a beverage and have a seat. I'm not generally a people watcher, but the atmosphere here glued my butt to my chair long enough to relax and drink while sitting, a rarity for me.

Apparently all independent coffee shops MUST offer a breakfast burrito and pastries now. It is a federal regulation. At least that's my interpretation of the strange breakfast burrito takeover happening in our nation's coffee shops. I don't mind though- they are generally good, if a little bland.

this place has the best coffee this side of Sumatra. Its "unique roasting process" keeps the bean's natural antioxidants that, otherwise, get burnt out during the roasting process.

What does that mean to me?
A smooth cup of tasty coffee that keeps me on my toes, keeps me looking young, and whatever else the antioxidants anti-ize.

The staff is definitely a stong perk and they got some skills when it comes to making a latte or any variation therein.

With a prime location on e. colfax, there's a lot of interesting to be seen and the patio is perfect for people watching.

The inside of the shop is small, but deftly decorated with a sort of intimacy to it (check: "Cheers" theme or the "people in your neighborhood" song from sesame street)...

I don't drink coffee and I know the owner, so right off the bat I seem biased.

However, I will objectively say that this place is definitely a place to check out. I drink and enjoy the chai (hot and iced) and also they make really tasty smoothies, as well as Italian sodas. They do have good breakfast burritos as well.

Let's face it, there aren't many places to get coffee that don't have the name Starbucks on them, so when you find a local place you should consider supporting them. Caffe Sanora makes you feel glad for going in their shop and they cater to your needs. They have a neat little patio, on Colfax, allowing you to get prime people watching while enjoying your beverage.

My only complaint is that the owner is a Yankees fan, despite being a Jets fan. I guess no one is perfect! :)
