Carneros Bistro & Wine Bar

We had very nice dinner here.  Would recommend!

Absolutely fantastic meal.  The dining room is spacious and relaxing.  The open kitchen has bar-like seating and wraps around into the bar for one continuous 'production area' which is neat and inviting.  My salmon had the charcoal grill marks on it from being done on the open flame grill.  Perfectly delicious.  I had the best Acacia Pinot Noir served in the big, huge Pinot glass for maximum enjoyment of the wine.  I would for sure go back there.

Inside the Renaissance Lodge & Spa is a little restaurant called Carneros. Walk in and the bar is directly ahead of you and the white table cloth dining is on your right. We were seated at a booth during happy hour. The booths here were comfortable enough, but maybe a little too open.
Our server was balancing the high top and the booths at the same time. He was able to do so the best he could. Maybe an extra server on hand would have made his job a little easier.
The American Kobe Sliders with caramelized onions was delicious. A fat serving of meat on juicy buns. The Local Mixed Greens had this wonderful taste, but next time maybe the dressing on the side. The vinaigrette dressing was good, but I've learned to like it on the side. It was a just a little too much dressing for me. The White Pizza with four different cheeses and arugula was very good. They wood fire their pizzas so the crust is light and crispy. Just enough of each cheese without being overbearing.
The service was great. I just wish I saw more use of the restaurant during happy hour. A section was closed off. The wine pairings were amazing, as expected coming from Wine Country. If you're looking for a place that is not too overcrowded in Sonoma, visit Carneros and see what they can offer you!
