Carruth Cellars Winery On Cedros

Shopping in the Cedros Design District....and WHOHOO a winery!!  I felt like I hit the lottery.  I love nothing better than shopping and drinking wine.  Carruth Cellars was charming.  Plus, if you are a Yelper -CHECK IN!  You received 50% off the tasting.  

The wine host was absolutely fabulous.  Their pours were generous if you wanted another taste, no problem.  The wines were great too, so unexpected.  Our party of 7 were all very impress with Carruth's.  I did purchase the Barbera which was my favorite...their reds were great!  

Dog friendly tasting room, just a great vibe and great wine host.  I will make this a must stop in the future when shopping with friends in the CDD.

I came here with some friends on a Saturday eager to see what this urban winery concept was all about. I do have to say that I came in with low expectations but boy was I amazed by our excellent experience.

Upon walking in, we were greeted immediately by our server and he showed us to a wine barrel where we could gather since the place was getting crowded and there were no spots up at the bar. However, we did not feel ignored or unloved since he made it over to our neck of woods often enough for our glasses to be full during the entire duration of our tasting. Our server was very knowledgeable about all of the wines we were tasting. My favorite was the barbera.

I believe $10 gets you 5 tastes (if you check in on yelp you get 2 tastings for the price of 1) and they are pretty good sized pours. Plus I think they may have given us a few extras since we lost track of what we were tasting :) We also ordered a brie and bread plate to share which was tasty and a really good size for 4 people.

Great experience! Will definately return!

Attended a private event here.  Nice evening with our jolly wine drinking Italian Club. Decided that it was a no brainer to sign up for the membership at least for the summer.  We'd come down once a week and wine taste and pick up our bottle once a month...for I believe $27.50 4 month minimum.  Drove home happy as a clam when it hit me...I had been to the DR on Tuesday and he has suggested that I quit wine for a couple of month for health reasons.  YIKES!  Where was my brain?
The NEXT DAY I tried to reach our sales gal Heather.  I was told to email info@carruth so I did.  Heard nothing.  2 weeks later, I called and spoke w/ Heather.  Evidently I should have emailed events@carruth.  But she did get my email and since it wasn't like I'd been a member for months and wanted to cancel, she was sure that it would happen, but now I had to email wineclub@carruth and explain the situation.  Welllllll  on JUNE 14...22 DAYS AFTER I HAD BEEN TO THE EVENT, I finally get a response from Jessica Frank, their new Wine Club Manager.  Her answer..."so sad too bad we'll cancel you after your 8/1 billing".

No mention of the fact that while I was waiting to hear from them, I of course was not using the free wine tasting offered...because you don't use something that you've been told you will be refunded for.

It is a great pity that we went from Just Lovin the place to "wish I never heard of the place"  TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE as you can see.

Had they just told me Sorry but No on May 24th when I contacted them, then at least my husband could have used it when he was down @ Fiesta del Sol the 1st weekend in June with his cousin.

Hurry up August 1 billing so I can wash the distaste away!
