Catwalk Bar & Grille

Catwalk used to be a very enjoyable bar downtown, however over the past couple months they have taken a "small city bar" and tried to establish it as an upscale night life destination. Two thumbs down for the new and less improved cat walk.

Visited on Sunday...Let's try the Compliment Sandwich:

The new decor looks nice. Lots of TVs (really nice clear ones too) and the paint job looks spiff

The food is average or a little below. The chicken fingers tasted ok but were the consistency of sponges. The golden onion (or whatever they call it) was blah, the steak tips were also of low quality but tasted good (lots of marinade).

Our waitress while clearly over matched (40 customers for one bartender is not fair to her, the cheapo owners should pony up for a waitress), she was nice, sweet and attentive. She provided us with excellent service. And the beer was very cold.

There are may better choices downtown. CW needs to try harder.

We only came here because everywhere else was packed due to the New Bedford Marathon and it was the only place that had a table.

I just changed from 1 star to 2 because I can imagine myself going here for a few beers if I lived in the area.... they had about 50 on top. And our waitress was really nice and trying really hard.

Other than that....

When we sat we waited a really long time for menus. Once we ordered we waited one hour for our food. My reuben came out cold (it was supposed to be hot). I asked for no dressing and I saw the waitress write "no dressing" on the ticket. It was sopping with thick russian dressing. Nothing else about the food was good anyway.

Too bad, the place seems like it has a good vibe.
