When at a sports themed hotel bar, what would you go for: Â The fu-fu sandwich or the burger. Thank you very much. I'm glad too I did because it was delicious and the perfect accompaniment to watch Brett Farve throw four interceptions (he's not helping my fantasy league.)
However, the real piece de resistance of this bar is the drink menu, Holla! They had martini's named after local Chi-town sports teams. The Cubs drink looked good on paper, but for me would probably would be a loser. So I went with the White Sox Martini: A Godiva liqueur infused martini with chocolate ribbon and other good stuff! FABULOUS!
It was potent too. It was so memorable and in such an awesome glass, that I took a pic of it and posted on my Yelp for Android app. Yes it was that good! I won't hesitate a second to hang out here next time I'm staying near ORD.
Champions is one of two restaurants in the Chicago Marriott O'Hare Hotel. Lots of large flat panel HD TVs throughout the place. The bar itself has tons of collector cards (football, baseball, basketball, pro wrestling) embedded beneath a hard clear layer sealing the bar.
I ordered a Steak and Cheese sub - it comes with Cheez Wiz, but you get a choice of cheeses - I went with Provolone and a side of fries. plus an Ale from Goose Island, a local Chicago area brewery - although I can't recall which exact one it was.

The Ale was by far the best part of the meal. When the Steak and Cheese came out - it was steak, cheese, and a few grilled onions, Very dry. No mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, or hot peppers. I put some ketchup on the first half of the sub - still not great. I asked for Mayo and hot peppers for the second half - I got two foil mayo packets and a souffle cup of some of the thickest jalapeno slices I've ever seen. I added the mayo and peppers - it added some additional moisture and flavor - but still not a good Steak and Cheese sub. The fries were pretty good.
At a later point in time - I came back for a couple of drinks: Â a vodka martini, very dirty with extra olives, and then I tried their Bloody Mary. I opted for Grey Goose for the vodka - the cost for the drink seemed high - $12 and change. The drink was very delicious though. The Bloody Mary - not so much - the Bloody Mary mix had to much sodium - very hard to drink and not very tasty.
Pros: Good French Fries, Ale, and Martini, good service
Cons: Steak and Cheese sub was bleah, and the Bloody Mary was just plain bad
