The food was good, but the service was terrible.

My husband and I ate here around 4:00 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was deserted, but the waiter was MIA throughout most of the meal. Luckily, you can pay your bill at the table with the little tablet-like gadget. I hate to think how long we would have waited otherwise.

Also, the restaurant wasn't very clean. I noticed a layer of dust on almost every surface. Disgusting.

As a former employee I'm warning everyone not to eat here. The following reasons may shock you.

First and foremost the entire place is disgusting. Absolutely filthy in the back and the front isn't much better. Every thursday they have what's called "Bug night" where a third party comes in and fumugates the building. Once a week seems a little much but they keep finding cockroaches everywhere in the building, an infestation would be an understatement. During the preperation for "Bug night" the managers loosly hang plastic garbage bags that do little to no protection from the chemicals. If you ever hear employees talking about "baloons" thats code for cockroaches. There a more "baloons" in this building than a birthday party.

Now on to the cooks. Brace yourselfs as this will be shocking. The cooks are some of the most foul, repugnent, rude and filthy people I've ever met in my life. NOBODY WEARS GLOVES! If you go to a 7-Eleven and order a hot dog, the cashier has the decency to put gloves on before handling your food. Not the cooks at Chilis. Nobody wears gloves and it's disgusting. I've seen them sneeze on food, cough on food, drop food on the floor and still serve it and bring outside food and drink inside that they eat while preparing your food. There are several health code violations here. I know what you're thinking: no manager would let this happen. Well the truth is the managers do let this happen. These problems have been identified and ignored by management. The General Manager seems intimated by confronation and lets the cooks walk all over him, it's incredible sad to see a grown man be such a whimp. But that's a personal issue. I'm sure they have self confidence 800 numbers or maybe one of those personal health cassette tapes he can fall asleep to.

It doesn't matter what time of day you come in the staff will still be equally as filthy. For example, the prep cook in the morning is also the dishwasher. Take a minute for that to sink in. THE PREP COOK IS ALSO THE DISHWASHER. This is becasue the manager is cheap and refuses to hire two people when he can just work one person twice as hard, in complete disregarde for sanitation. The prep cook/dishwasher was recently cited for not washing his hands after using the restroom (a customer noticed this). I've seen cooks come into work VERY sick where they can't even speak and they still stand on the line coughing away all over the food and their bare hands, which in return make contact with your food.

I have no reason to write this besides my moral service to general population. I have to expose things that I don't agree with. This is one of the most disgusting establishments I've ever seen and I warn you from the bottom of my heart to never eat here. You could get sick or catch a disease and that's not what people expect when they go out to eat. The General Manager's business card can be found at the host stand if you wish to contact him.

Came in for the lunch special seems pretty good as my wife told me to get the potato soup and sandwich .They didn't have the potato soup instead they had a chicken and sausage. I ordered a cheese steak and soup and a sweet ice tea.
The soup was very spicy so much I might have had half I was afraid I would get sick, I didn't though.  The awful ice tea was probably the worst tasting I ever had. The sandwich was ok but too small.
    In a word NO.

A favorite rainy day hang out!

My daughter takes gymnastics nearby, and on most evenings, my son and I hang out in Sterling (we live in Leesburg) during her 2 hr practice.  I try to make this "quality time" with just him... so we play basketball, mini golf, go for a walk, to a playground...something.  Most things are outdoors.  But, what will we do on a rainy day?

We have a new favorite past time.  We pack up our chess game and go sit at a table at the bar (it's not bar hours while we are there), and have appetizers and sodas and play chess.  You know what?  Hanging out at a bar is quite fun, even without drinking.

We love it.  AND, we order dinner to go for the whole family, pick up my daughter and head home - dinner in hand.  Yummy every time.

The food here is ok.  I mean it's a Chili's you know what to expect.  The service here was horrible though.  I do not blame the staff as much as the management.  I went in here for lunch and the place was about 25% full.  For about five minutes though, there was not one single employee in the dining area or even the bar.  They were all in the back talking.  They really need some better management here.

It's not bad for a chain. Service was a little slow. And it wasn't busy. But the food was cooked right and came out ok.

I'm going to say that I'm glad that all I did was look at the Yelp reviews because if I would have listened I would have missed out on some pretty good food.

I can't say enough about our server Jeremiah.  It seemed like he was working an infinite amount of tables and yet he still had the speed and knowledge to continue to check on my wife and I to make sure we were okay and if we needed anything.

My wife and I ended up doing the 2 for $20 meal special which allows you to get one appetizer and two entrees.  We were cool with that because we had a $25 Chilli's gift card.

For the appetizer we ordered the Onion straws that comes with a stack of jalapenos.  The jalapenos stack, we asked to get that on the side because my wife isn't a big fan of spicy foods.

Let me say that to me the onion straws were very well cooked and were edible without any sort of dressing (e.g. Ketchup, Ranch, Salsa).  However I did eat some of the onion straws with ranch and that made it taste that much better.

For the entrees my wife ordered the half rack of baby back rib with the shiner spread which comes with fries.  I ordered the Bacon Chicken Quesadilla which comes with sour cream and pico de gallo.

According to my wife the baby back ribs were cooked very well because she enjoyed the taste and tenderness of the ribs.  She kept telling me how easy it was to peel the meat off of the bone with just one hand.  Now YC (Yelp Comminity) if you've been through your fare share of places that sells badly cooked ribs then you will be able understand that meat that doesn't take much effort to come off a bone is a good thing.  So she was very pleased when she was able to remove the meat from the ribs with one hand.

Now the bacon chicken quesadilla which was cooked to perfection.  The quesadilla is cooked to where it is a bit crispier than what I was normally used to but I actually enjoyed it that way.  I feel like that made the quesadilla that much better.  By spreading the pico de gallo over the crispy quesadilla gave it even more flavor which I also enjoyed.

All I can say is that I was very impressed with my meal and service at this Chilli's restaurant I just hope that the next time I go back it's the same and I don't have to take stars away.

I haven't been to a Chili's in a long time and they have definitely changed their menu.  I was disappointed when I saw that they don't have chicken fried steak anymore.  I got the California Club instead.  Nothing screams good more than avocado and bacon together.  It was a very good sandwich.

The restaurant was clean and our waiter was very good.  My boys enjoyed their Big Bite Burgers, but the onion straws were rather greasy, so they moved those to the side and just ate the fries.  My wife also enjoyed her chicken sandwich.

It was a decent experience, but I'm missing that chicken fried steak.  ;)

Ate here about 2 weeks ago, say at the bar and being a bartender myself I had to laugh at how she introduced herself... She was like "Its my first day as a bartender and I'm training so don't judge me, can I get you something to drink?"  She said it all with a smile and it just started a fun chat. I ordered the quesadilla to go and it was just great, wish I came with a side of rice or beans. Week later I have the jalapeño burger, the thing was huge and cooked perfect and had lots of bacon! Very fresh and the fries were perfect. I will defiantly BE going back.

My wife and I have been to this Chilli's multiple times and this year it appears they are cutting costs and it shows.  It wasn't really apparent until my wife noticed Chilli's no longer has coasters.  I didn't think much of it until we received our food and then ate at another chain restaurant similar to Chilis (only better).

    Pros & Cons:
    - Wings were dry.
    - Burger meat is definitely sub-par.  I'm not a foodie, but I do know what dry, dated, low quality meat is when I taste it.  They are now using it.
    - We ordered the nacho appetizer.  Instead of receiving the normal basket of nachos you would expect from a nacho appetizer with associated, common toppings, we received a plate with 6-8 chips placed in a circle topped sparingly with re-fried beans and melted cheese.  This cost $7.  I guess they believe they can charge a $1 a chip because it's that good (or bad).
    - Wait Service was awkward, but not horrible.

    Bottomline:
    -  Chilis use to be our go to chain restaurant, but we just ate at "Not your average Joes" in Leesburg/Landsdowne and I would rather go there every time I think of Chilis.

I have gone to a Chili's here and a Chili's there for about as long as I can remember.  And you know what, I almost ALWAYS leave with a big old smile on my face.  It seems like one of those things where you either love it or hate it, but as far as a chain restaurant goes, its one of my favorites.

    Their wings are good.
    Their burgers are good.
    Their fries are good.
    Their honey mustard is good.
Their honey lime dressing is so good.
    Their chicken sandwiches are good.
Their chips and salsa are good.
    Their guacamole is good.
    Their sliders are good.
    Their beer is good.
Their carribean chicken salad is really good.
Their ribs are REALLY GOOD (favorite of any CHAIN I can think of)
    Their fajitas are good.

I even like the way Chili's smells.  It always smells about the same in Chili's and you know what... it smells good.  Figure a way to bottle that smell up Chili's and I'll buy some on the way out the door.  I will smell so fresh to def.

The only thing that makes me frown when I think of Chilis is that they took away their AMAZING happy hour and replaced it with a good happy hour.  Oh how I long for the days of 25 cent wings and dolla' sliders and beers... but alas, those days are gone.  In the words of Uncle Rico, "ya ever wish you could go back??"

I guess it's a good thing that I didn't look at the Yelp reviews before going to this Chili's!  If I had, no doubt, it would have dissuaded me from dining here.

We hadn't been to a Chili's in years.  When our daughter was a kid, we would sometimes go to Chili's on the weekend.  They had a decent kids menu and when she got older, there was always something on the menu that she liked.  Locally, dining options started to improve somewhat and with more choices,  we just never wanted to go to Chili's.

Well...we decided to give this Chili's a try to see what the menu is like these days.  We arrived around 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday.   The place was busy but several tables were available.  It took a couple of minutes before someone came to the host stand to seat us.

After we were seated, our waiter showed up prompty to take our drink orders.  My husband had a beer while I decided to go for the Presidente Margarita with mango flavoring.  The bar was a bit slow and we appreciated our server telling us this and apologizing for it.  However, it wasn't so slow as to be annoying.  I began to wonder if getting the Presidente Margarita was a good idea when I saw it.  Part of it was poured into a glass rimmed in sugar, as it was on the rocks.  I was also given a container with more Margarita in it.  My first thought was Yikes!  What did I get myself into?  On closer inspection, the container was filled with a lot of ice, as was the glass so it was a lot less than I had feared (phew!).  It was a decent drink and I could clearly taste the mango flavoring---that doesn't always happen with mango-flavored drinks.

For my main course, I had something that has been on their menu for years, Monterey Chicken.  This dish consists of (straight from the menu) "Topped with BBQ sauce, tomato, cheese and applewood smoked bacon.  Served with mashed potatoes with black pepper gravy and steamed broccoli".   From what I recall from having this dish in the past, it now seemed lacking.  There was barely any BBQ sauce on it and the tomato and bacon portions were skimpy.  The amount of cheese was decent.  That said, the chicken was cooked properly and wasn't dried out.  I actually liked the gravy on the mashed potatoes.  At first taste, it didn't taste spicy, then the flavor sneaked up on me.

My husband had the Oldtimer Burger which is a burger served with mustard and red onions.   He wasn't asked how he wanted the burger cooked and didn't  think to tell the waiter.  However, when it came, it was almost well done but still juicy.  The fries were served hot and while good, nothing to write home about.

All in all, not a bad dining experience.  We would consider going again but aren't in a rush to do so.

I ordered the "Cajun Chicken Alfredo" from here today and lets just say it was anything but that. It was very taste less, and no spice or kickness at all considering it was "Cajun". My sister ordered the same thing, but couple hours later got very sick after eating there. The food isn't even worth going there for, avoid this place at all cost.

I'd like to write a follow up review to the one I did back in 2009. I've visited this restaurant several times in the ensuing years and feel the place has improved. The food is still fine, especially for a large chain restaurant. And the overall experiences have been improving.

To begin, I usually enjoy Chili's. I typically get the Fajitas.
This time, I got the 6oz sirloin covered with mozzarella, steamed broccoli, and southwestern mac & cheese. Good meal except that they over-cooked my steak. I asked for it medium, it came well-done. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't charred or anything, but there was certainly no pink. I understand that it can be a little difficult to cook a smaller steak to specifications, but if the cooks can't do it, don't give me the option. I would have ordered something else.
I probably would have sent it back, but the only time our server came to check on us was 40 seconds after our food was dropped off, when I hadn't even had a chance to cut into my steak yet. I even said "I don't know yet", then he didn't come back until my girlfriend was done with her meal to take her plate. We were trying to catch a movie, so unfortunately by that point I didn't have time to wait for my food to be re-cooked.

ALWAYS a great experience! I have been coming here for the last 6 years, sat at the bar, outside, inside. Everyone has always been friendly and you can't beat the special. 2 eat for $20! You HAVE to try the Texas cheese fries they are perfectly cooked with plenty of cheese melted over them, bacon and jalapenos with a zesty rance SOOO GOOD!

they are great about refilling your cup when your drink is low. Although some of their drinks are too sour sometimes I find that if you stick to the basics (beer, classic margarita, mojitos) you CAN'T go wrong. I also recommend the Margarita Chicken, being hispanic I love my beans! lol and theirs are NOT bad, it's a chicken breast with a zesty kick to eat and the rice and beans are covered by little tortilla flakes SOOOO GOOD! add a hint of the lime they give you and PERFECTION,

everything is good! Their burges are GREAT not the BEST but still great. and to top of try their CHOCOLATE MOLTEN LAVA CAKE... It is amazing, nice and warm cake like with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, chocolate covered and melted brownie like on the inside, I HATE chocolate ( I KNOW i'm weird) but this treat does not over do it and it mixes perfectly with the vanilla ice cream to give you just the right amount of sweet without going into a chocolaty diabetic coma (chocolate tastes like milk chocolate YUM). GO THERE! NOW!

I love Chili's! This one in particular is fairly easy to find.  Parking lot was big.  The place was busy when we arrived and we were seated very quickly.  The service was okay.  And food was amazing as usual.  Overall this place was good!  Definitely would recommend!

Food was good , service non-existent

I was very disappointed with their online / takeout ordering system.  I ordered a salad online and was told it would be ready at 12:15.  I only had 15 minutes to leave my office and get my lunch.  I had a conference call at noon and one at 1 PM.  By ordering my salad at 11 Am and giving them one hour and a half to make it, I was sure my plan would work.  I arrived 10 minutes early and sat patiently waiting until 12:15.  Five minutes later, I called the restaurant and they were confused as to why I was calling. Finally 15 minutes later someone came out to deliver my salad.  I complained and said I had been waiting since 12:05 and they said why didn't you call. I said I did call.  Then they told me they had a full bar.  I just shrugged and said you need to know that this salad is late and he just looked at me.
My point is that if you are going to offer online ordering, it should work.  A business should under promise and over deliver.  This business is over promising and under delivering.

Yikes!  Here's how it went down...it started by the waiter informing me that my favorite soup (broccoli cheese) was discontinued.  Bad move, Chili's!  Then my Coke arrived in a glass that had food particles all over the exterior, who knows what remnants were on the inside of the glass?  One appetizer came out quickly while the other seemed to take too long for an app,  I couldn't find e waiter when I wanted a Coke refill so I went to the bar area and asked the manager for one.   As if all that wasn't enough, my eagle eye son noticed a bug crawling from under our booth to a dark corner across the aisle way.  That sealed the deal for my appetite and I asked for to go containers.   We're there more swift crawling bugs in that joint?  I'm not interested in finding out.  The waiter brought the containers and let me know they picked up the check.  I don't need to be Nostradamus to predict I won't be going back there.

Worst Chili's anywhere! Amazing how bad this one is and in an area where there should be at least 3 or 4.  Where I'm from and my travels all over and even in Mexico and in airports the Chilis was so much better. This being the only one is giving people a bad taste of what Chilis is and can be.  So sad...

Recently ate there.  I hadn't been there for a couple of years and I don't plan to go back.  Food was awful.  Very bland.  We told the manager and he attempted to correct it by bringing over some salsa, onions, sour cream etc.  Didn't help much.  The waiter and manager were OK but the food tasted like cardboard.  Really disappointing.

This particular location is good for happy hour and happy hour only.  I've eaten meals there and had horrible experiences from poor service to bad food.  However, the happy hour deal is a really good deal and the service at the bar isn't too bad.  You can get a decent beer, chips & salsa, 6 wings, and 2 sliders all for about $7.

Fail.  I use to stop by for lunch every now and then when I hit the Best Buy in the same area.  Usually good food and fast.  But nothing to write home about.  This time, they really failed.  I sat at the bar, ordered a chicken sandwich and fries.  Other people came in after me and ordered.  After a while the other people got their food.  Bartender said he was going to check on my sandwich.  20 minutes roll by and he said they will pick up the tab but still no sandwich.  It showed up burnt and the bun was falling apart.  I didn't eat it and said I have to go.  The manager came over and offered something else.  I said I have to go to work.  They gave me a $10 gift card.  Obviously I'm not the only one that has a problem here.  Fail.  Don't eat here maybe Corp will understand why.

My family and I have been seeing Chili's recent promotion on the television where 2 can eat for $20.  We decided to give it a try and visited this location in Sterling twice during August 2009.

The first visit was just OK.  The food wasn't "bad" but it wasn't anything fabulous, either.  We found the service to be subpar, however.  The three of us were seated at a booth, and while the waitress didn't necessarily ignore us, she made absolutely no effort at all to clear away our dirty dishes or empty glasses.  She did keep my iced tea full, but at one point there were a total of 8 empty glasses on our table, and they just sat there the entire meal ignored by the waitress.  In fact, when the dessert portion came we were running out of room and rather than use that as an opportunity to clear away some of the emptys she just moved them to a different portion of the table to make room for the dessert.  Never seen anything like that before.

We left thinking that maybe she was the exception and not the rule and didn't necessarily rule out another visit since the $20 promotion is so affordable, especially in today's economy.

We came back to this restaurant on a Friday evening to give the place, as well as the $20 promotion, another try.  The restaurant wasn't really all that busy or crowded for a Friday night.  We were seated near the front and there was never more than one party waiting to get in and there were several empty seats in the restaurant.

Our waiter took quite a while to get to us but he eventually showed up to take our drink order.  We had been seated already for about 10 minutes so we placed our food order at the same time.

We then waited, and waited and finally our order showed up about 40 minutes later with no explanation or apology from the waiter.  Again, the place didn't seem overly crowded to me and we never really saw too much of our waiter.  I have no idea where he was or what he was doing while we were waiting.  Customer service didn't appear to be too high on his list of priorities.

We ate our food and we sat around for a while with dirty plates and empty glasses in front of us after having finished and had to get the attention of our waiter to clear the table and take our dessert order since it was part of the $20 promotion.  We ordered and then we waited.  And waited.  And waited.  We waited for over 30 minutes.  When it was clear that we were forgotten about I tracked down our waiter and asked him about the dessert.  It was quite evident that we had been forgotten about and he said the dessert would be out "right away."  After another 5 minutes the dessert was no where to be found so I tracked the waiter down again and asked for the check as we had now been at the restaurant for 2 hours and my son's bedtime was quickly approaching.  We never did get our dessert.  I mentioned to the waiter that the wait seemed a bit excessive and he didn't deny it, but he also didn't offer an explanation or an apology.  I left a tip commensurate with his poor service.

On the way out, I stopped by the hostess stand and asked to speak with the manager.  The hostess told me she would find him.  After 5 minutes, she came back and stated that "Mike," the manager on duty, would be there to speak with us soon.  We waited a few more minutes and "Mike" never showed up to speak with us.  It was now approaching the 2 hour and 15 minute mark for me at this place and I was steaming.  We walked out because I couldn't take it any longer.

We've never been regulars at Chili's and I can firmly attest that these experiences have now soured me on the entire chain.  Poor service at this location seems to be the norm.  I have no desire to ever visit again.  Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

I don't understand such a horrible rating on this restaurant.

Ok, it's a chain, and it's got the 5000 calories entree... but what's wrong with that?  Just share it and stop complaining.

Contrary to most (all) other reviewers, we had an excellent experience.  I would give 5 star for the service and the deliciousness of the food, but have to knock 2 stars off for the unhealthness of the food.

This is the first time ever we've gone in a Chili's - all thanks to a $25 gift card I have.  We got the $20 deal - 1 apetizer, 2 entrees, and a dessert.

All were pretty good, and the highlight is the dessert - molten chocolate cake a-la-mode with chocolate syrup on top.  That's yummy!

I have to admit by the end of the meal each of us probably engulfed 2500 calories, but after the giftcard it was practically free.  I'm a happy man in this tight economy

Chilis was a fave of mine before I moved here.
The food was sub par  at this location.Maybe I ordered wrong.I like their appetizers, salads, soups, chicken, drinks.
Have to try it again.Maybe was offday.Losing its strength with higher prices, lower portions, rushed stressed out servers and an overall decline in my customer satisfaction and value chains are just sliding down lately in general and people want bang for their buck.

Can I give this any negative stars? No? Well, one will have to do...
Oh my god this place sucks! I can not even begin to tell you how disappointed I was when I went here. I gave it three tries, three times I wasted money here. Three times I punished the toilet because of their food, I should have learned from the first time but I like to give chances.

The third and final time my girlfriend and I  went here was on a Wednesday afternoon. We both got off work early and decided to catch some lunch. For some fucking reason, we ended up at Chili's. Upon entering the smoke clad entrance, we were "welcomed" (after waiting for two minutes) by the loveliest wench I had ever met. Asked  for a booth by the bar in which the wickid witch of the west simply snarled "it's free seating" and  walked away mid sentence.

OK, no big deal since being a host is such hard work I thought nothing of it. The menu looked great, I was very excited to try some of Chili's famous baby back ribs. Enter Malibu Stacy, the ditsiest waitress I have ever met. Now I have worked as a server, host and line cook so before any of you bash me for being harsh, relax.
this waitress couldn't name the dressing they carried without checking with the bartender 3 times! 3 is a lucky number at this place. After she took our order, she came back with our free wings (it's apparently free wings from open to sometime, i didn't really pay attention) and we asked for some ranch. About 3/4th's through th wings, no fucking ranch. I figure she must be busy but was I delighted to see she was flirting her way through next semester with one of the managers. I politely asked for her across the room and no answer. Finally, i had to get up and go up to her and ask, in which she blinked 4 to 6 times, it hits her and she scurries off. By the time she comes back with it, our food comes out.

Holy fucking shit, my ribs looked like my grandmothers skeleton boiled and served with some ketchup and my girlfriends Fajitas looked like last nights garbage re fried with a hint of loose stool.
    The only good thing we had were our drinks and the wings because they were free. Chili's, i hate you and in the tune of your famous jingle;
"I want my money back money back money back, Chiiiillliiiiissss, you really suuuccckk. " Your food is just fug ugly. Yes, Fug ugly.
