ABSOLUTELY KILLER PLACE! Wife and i went in to chat with the staff and 'check out' the place since we were actually REFERRED to TCS by a couple friends. It was a Monday afternoon and there were people hanging out, eating, drinking having a great time... Again, on a Monday... We met Bill, 'the boss', and after asking a few questions he gave us a personal tour. This is NOT your typical bar! As other posts suggest the OUTSIDE is deceiving. Two rooms for live music, another for pool, a bar dedicated to dancing on when good times strike, any kind of seating you want... Couch? Got it. Tall bar table? Done... Sit down family style table? Follow me.
We decided to eat... And im glad we did. I had the best burger ive had in a LONG time. 1lb of meat Stuffed (yes.. literally stuffed) with cheese, served with sweet potato fries. Wife had a pastrami on a pretzel bun.... Idk what that even is but our taste buds gave them two thumbs WAY UP!
As if a bar oozing with personality, great vibe, and AWESOME food wasnt enough, the 'biker style' (for lack of a better description) act like you belong there. No b.s., no attitudes, ask for it, and then CALL YOU BY your name the whole time you're there.
With a TON of bars doing things backwards, The Chop Shop will likely be a trek the wife and i make every time we go to the beach this year...
The Chop Shop is not at all what I was expecting when I spotted it down at the back corner of a parking lot in what is basically a strip mall. My preconceptions were shattered as I walked in the front door. This place is DRIPPING with character and personality. There are several different rooms, each with their own persona.
When you walk in the front door you're in the middle of a room full of pool tables. There are booths along one side perfect for lounging, an old school Galaga game (kind of like space invaders) by the front window when you need a video game break, and also a really touching tribute to lost soldiers in the front corner of the room.
Turn to your right and you'll enter what almost looks like a country bar. There is a stage up front  which had an amazing band rocking out the night I was there. There was a small bar off to one end, and a variety of tables and seating.
If you head out to the main bar area, there is a good sized stage up front and another large wrap around bar up in the opposite corners. Here you can sit belly up to the bar, lounge on comfy couches, partner up with your date at a small tall table, or hang out with your group at a large, long hightop table with a nice view of the band.
The bartenders were all super friendly, and creative making up shots to anyone's wishes. Service was always super fast for drinks of any kind, and the value for the size of the drinks was fantastic. In addition to the drinks, they had rather decent tasting bar food. I mean, this is not the place claiming to be a gastropub or anything of the sort. But for bar fare, they execute it well! The owner was wandering around and is also an incredibly friendly and a fantastically philanthropic guy- hosting an event at a biker bar to support Toys for Tots!
Late in to the night, with the place packed, I'll admit I'm a bit shaky on exactly what the closing hour at the bar entailed. But I believe the owner came around and shot toilet paper out of an air gun to signify it was closing time? And service of all service, shortly before everyone was getting ready to head out the bar started serving coffee and breakfast pizza. That's right, BREAKFAST PIZZA!
Don't let the "biker bar" persona of this place keep you away- it is an amazing eclectic mix of people and gave me one of my most memorable nights surrounded by fantastic people in my recent history!
