We were welcomed by Chef Ron and his staff like old friends. Â Very charming atmosphere and attentive staff. Â The menu offered some great Italian classics with a contemporary twist. Â This is definitely the case with the Italian egg roll, wow could of made a meal just of those. Â The mussels were perfectly cooked and offered a sauce that was quickly sopped up by all of us with the endless bread available. It was tough to choose a main course but I went with veal chop which covered the plate and I couldn't stop, eating it till only the bone was left. Â My wife had the halibut with the cucumber salad atop. Â Very fresh and and blended well with each other. Â Our friends order the scallops which were perfectly cooked and seasoned very well. Â Also the steak which was equally delicious. Â My wife had the lemon cake for desert and couldn't stop wooing over it. Â Christie's has become our new go to place dine due to its great service, charming appeal, great fresh food, and reasonable prices. Don't miss out on a great place to dine and relax. Â Thank you Marino family.
Review Source:Christines is a fantastic addition to the "restaurant row" of Atlantic Highlands!
Christine's Owner has put together a creative and unique menu blending some old Italian favorites, such as chicken milanese, with some creative ones, such as the Broccoli Rabe Egg Rolls (one of my favorites). Â
The portions are quite large, so try not to fill up on appetizers. Â The staff always drops off complimentary brushetta as well as a nice bread plate with roasted red peppers. Â Each time I've gone here I've brought home a doggy bag for lunch for the following day!
The venue is somewhat small, so be sure to make a reservation in advance. Â While smaller in size, I have been there 3 times and never felt cramped or crowded. Â In addition, I never feel rushed either. Â The owner stops over to greet our table, discuss the specials, and answer any questions we may have.
Christines is a BYOB. Â The staff is very attentive to this fact and always offer to bring a standing ice bucket, or chill a bottle for us in the refridgerator if we are not opening it right away. Â I appreciate this extra bit of service. Â
Overall, I highly recommend hitting us Christines in the near future.
My boyfriend and I live in town and have been walking past Christines for almost a year now. Â We finally had dinner there last night and I have to say that I am a HUGE fan. Â I love small intimate dining areas with lots of character. Â Christines has beautiful original pressed tin ceilings and lots of exposed brick. Â The lighting is just right and sets a really nice atmosphere. Â Our server, Sharon, was warm, welcoming, and just great. Â Chef Ronnie came out and introduced himself to us and talked a little about the restaurant and the dishes available in the restaurant as well as for catering (I inquired about catering). Â Absolutely lovely people. Â AND NOW, the food. Â I am a little hard to please in terms of food- especially Italian food. Â I've spent a good portion of the past 8 years in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan so I've become very spoiled. Â I don't believe good food should have to come with a pretentious atmosphere or a $40 per entree price tag. Â Chef Ronnie has it nailed down. Â My boyfriend and I shared the Arugula Salad for 2 ($16) and it was fantastic. Â I am picky about salads and find that most salads at restaurants are gross. Â Not this one. Â YUM. Â Arugula with tomato and red onion, tossed in a lemon vinaigrette and topped with shaved Parmesan. Â Simple and delicious. Â My boyfriend got the Rigatoni all Sharon ($20) and I got the Cavatelli di Pompodoro ($18). Â We were both very pleased with our choices and finished the dinner off with a Bomba. Â Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience at Christines. Â We will certianly be back. Â Oh and it is BYO, so don't show up empty handed :)

Review Source:This is a wonderful addition to the Bay Shore area. Cozy NY atmosphere. Chef Ron makes you feel like family. The food is excellent, fresh ingredients and nice twists on favorite dishes. The Italian Eggroll is a must have. I also love the Veal Milanese & Egg Plant Rollatini All the fish dishes are fantastic and fresh. I've been there several times and no one I've gone with has ever been disappointed. It's not a large place, so make a reservation.
Review Source:I cook and love when I find a  restaurant that provides delicious food with depth and a fresh taste.  It all starts with the basic sauce which has a great depth, not over garlicy or salty, perfectly balanced and you can taste each ingredient.  The mussels were suberb, perfectly cooked, and again not too garlicy! My husband ate two pastas-the one with cognac for an appetizer and the pasta arrabiata.  He is picky too but devoured them both.  Also enjoyed the arugula salad with shaved parmesean which was perfectly dressed, fresh and tasty.  Can't wait to try the bolognese sauce.  The ambiance is warm and wonderful and Ron does make everyone feel like a rock star!
