Stopped in for a snack and tried the fried oysters and shrimp basket. The oysters were wonderful and the shrimp were just ok. They have an interesting selection of beers on tap. The decor takes you on a time travel back into the 20th century - old fashioned booths, saloon doors and lots of anitquey paraphernalia on the walls. It was a beautiful day and we missed not sitting out over the water but that wasn't an option at Clawson's - for future reference. Cute and interesting but nothing out of this world.
Review Source:Our family has been coming to Clawson's for years. This year seems to be the best ever!. The menu has been slightly revamped and it seems the portions are larger and the options increased. We went with a family of 7 including  a small child and grandparent and all of use were very satisfied. Wide variety of items on the menu from sandwiches to entrees. Great selection of beers with specials everyday.. While in Beaufort you should definitely try Clawson's.....
Review Source:Good service and cool atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and pitched in about what was delicious to order. We got $5 bbq shrimp, which was the special that night. It was different but very good. The shackleford scallops were ok. Expected a bit more crust and the sauce was a little watery. The shrimp and grits were good..on the spicy side. The grits could have used a bit more cheese, but the bacon was great. The garlic mashed potatoes are definitely delicious. The montery grilled chicken was delicious and cooked perfectly. The salad it was on was very fresh and light. I think it could have used a bit more dressing. We passed the bar area to sit upstairs and it looked really fun. The decor was old timeish and it was neat to look at all the different items. I liked the plaque on the stairs stating how much eggs used to be back in the day. My favorite is right by the front door where they have an old teller window as a wall divider. All in all a good experience
