I love this bar. Â The bartender has gone to pretty great lengths to put together not just the best beer selection in Mebane, but one of the best anywhere in the area. Â And they sell them for next to nothing. Â One of my favorite beers is the Two Hearted Ale by Bells and I can buy it at the Tavern for $2. Â The bartenders are really funny and if you go on karaoke night, the guy that hosts it is absolutely hilarious. Â The bar is usually full of regulars who are all super outgoing, friendly, eager to dance and sing, and just generally fun to observe. Â You owe it to yourself to drop in, drink a really good beer, and probably end up line dancing to "Wobble".
Review Source:Cool bar with a good crowd of regulars. I started off mostly going to see a local band called Sayer*McShane and kept wandering back in. The perfect sized dance floor and good crowd mean you're usually dancing with the crowd rather than making a fool of yourself. It's hard to describe, but it's kind of like a biker bar with an overtly gay-friendly atmosphere plunked down on Main St., Small Town, USA. (I've only recently noticed how cute the downtown area is, when it's all decked out for Christmas.)
Small but good tap selection, and pints are $3 for the good stuff, or $2 for domestics. They don't have food, so eat first or bring something with you. (There's a hot dog cart every so often that's tasty, but don't count on it being there.)
