A typical 1am experience - 10-15 people in small groups - with a few drunks at the bar using coasters as frisbies. Â I imagine the crowd varies a lot.... Â pool tables and game machines - a good old school bar, no frills.
Bar tender was good, and didn't tolerate a group who previously caused drug related trouble in the place. Â Service was simple and fine. Â (didn't do any food)
$6 black label on the rocks, and quite a generous pour. Â Need I say more?
Decent pool tables, good people and great drinks. The clubhouse may not be the fanciest or coolest, but it's hometown feel and kind bartenders (Misty) make it the spot to be in Buellton, CA. If you're on a long drive on the 101 get a hotel room the Days Inn and grab a drink at the Clubhouse. Weekly pool tournaments, smoking patio, darts, pinball.. What more could you ask for?
Ignore the above review by D.B. They are not reviewing the correct bar. Cal Poly is in a different county. There is no food service at the Clubhouse, nor bottomless mimosas.
Thank you!
I was hoping for more... I guess familiar faces?
That's my favorite part about frequenting bars in my hometown... that feeling of experiencing a high school reunion with out actually well, experiencing one.
But I can't really take off stars for the fact that I didn't have any exciting if totally uncomfortable run-ins with faces from my past last Saturday night so to be fair, here goes:
+/- Thumbs up for a jukebox, thumbs down for expensive internet tunes... they only have one or two songs from each artist which I find a little annoying... no op's to play that one random song which you love but no one ever plays...
- Pricier drinks than you'd think one would find in.. BUELLTON. $7 for a vodka soda. i can get them for $4 at my favorite dive in SF, so $7 seems a bit high...
- A little bright for a bar.. just sayin'.
- Not my fave crowd. I realize it's Buellton but after the fourth question about my tattoos it got a little... ehh.
It's hard to live up to the Mav. and unfortunately the Clubhouse just didn't make the cut, for me... Sideways fame aside.
