My husband and I love Conleys and are there often because we live close by (we are regulars for sure).  The  atmosphere is laid back and fun, food is good, prices are reasonable, and waitstaff and bartenders are friendly and efficient. Â
That being said, we have been going less lately, or just getting takeout, because we don't like the hostess/greeter older lady. She is incredibly abrasive and rude, makes us wonder why we spend our hard earned $ to be chased down, snapped at, and aggravated over seating ourselves in the bar area when there is no sign to wait to be seated and when we ask people if they're waiting before sitting down (hey, I'm not looking to cut in front of anyone, and the wait staff have told us in the past it is generally fine to seat yourself).
Â
I'd think she would at least be polite to regular customers, even if its to tell us to wait for a table NICELY rather than coping an attitude-we aren't unreasonable, we just don't like being snapped at. Our neighbors told us they got the same treatment from her on a different occasion, so at least it's not just us.
It's annoying when you're a loyal customer who spends a decent amount almost weekly, and tips well, to have someone make you feel unwelcome and aggravated. Â After she was rude tonight, it will probably be a while before I'll go back.
Unfortunately this local area pub seems to have gone down hill with the quality of their food. Â And I have had a mixed bag when it comes to service. Â At night it is usually crowded and the service is ok but at lunch time it is slow and the food is not up to snuff.
This used to be one of our favorite places but service and quality have gone down hill.
