After staying up all night in room 22 of the neighboring Jeffery Hotel, a nice big, warm breakfast here was perfect. Generous portions for the price and friendly service. It is decorated very cute inside and was very clean. A great place to stop if you're in town or on the way to or from Yosemite.

I've eaten at the Coulter Cafe an average of 1 time a year since they opened a quarter of a century ago.   The interior has changed.  The menu and prices have changed. Improvements and additions have been made.

What stays the same is the friendly service, a varied choice of menu items, and the reasonable prices.

I've enjoyed hearty breakfasts of pancakes or omelets, filling lunches of chicken breast sandwiches or chicken taco salads, and pleasant dinners of hot turkey or baked chicken entrees.

I love eating outside when the weather is good.   Dining inside the experience is more old time diner, it's charming and welcoming.

This gem of a cafe is in one of the most historic and unique towns in the west!  Spotlessly clean, with shiny inlaid wood tables, floors, chairs and with wall decorated with 49'er "stuff", it has a ladies room as nice or nicer than most guest bathrooms in private homes!  Also has a lovely, quiet garden where you can dine when the weather is nice...all sorts of flowers and a genuine 3 stamp mill to boot!  The menu is not as varied as it might be, but everything is delicious and servings generous!  My favorite lunch item is the Tostada Chicken Salad.  When having dinner there, I usually order the giant burrito, but most folks go for the yummy looking hamburgers 'n fries.  For breakfast, its always a too up between pancakes or hash borwns with eggs 'n bacon.

This restauant is nothing fancy but did take us back in time with all of the old time mining pieces outside...we couldn't stop looking out the window. We were coming to this little town for Jeffrey Hotel but it wasn't open. We were starving so luckily we saw this little cafe. The decor is total old time with old tools on the wall, old gears, etc. We ordered at the counter from a pretty basic menu and sat ourselves. We used the restroom which was very clean, spacious and the walls were covered with sponge painting! LOL! Smelled like my grandma's (in a good way). When we got our food, it was awesome! We ordered a meal with some eggs, bacon and country potatoes. Everything tasted so good and was just the right amount for the 2 of us. Coffee was good and they even had good creamer. Jelly selection was minimal and service was good but not great. Meaning, they do not really come to you and check on how your doing. This place is more like being in a friends kitchen where you go up to the counter to get something. Don't get me wrong though..the experience wasn't a bad one. It was actually nice in this circumstance to just chill and enjoy going back in time. We will definitely go back to this place again.

Very attractive room.  Sign said beware of attack waitress but she apparently wasn't there that day.  Pleasant service.

We both ordered the fish plate.  Everything was good and, I think, reasonably priced.

Nice little cafe, where you order at the counter, then the waitress brings the food out to you.  Clean and lots of stuff to look at.  Food was very good, just what I would have expected :)
