Country Cookin

Country Cookin' is a nice cross between buffet places and sit down restaurants.  You are seated and order off the menu and then proceed to get salad, soup and maybe even some side dishes from the buffet bar.  Everything you want may come with the entree.  After the entree has been devoured, check back with the buffet for some of the excellent desserts.
You can order just the buffet for $6.99, , although it has no "meat" entrees, but lots of other things.
I had the Country Fried Steak, which was sublime- comfort food at its best. - a half pound hamburger steak, lightly breaded and fried then covered with a smooth and tasty white gravy.  You can easily cut it with a fork.  It came with baked potato, french fries or baked sweet potato.  My companions both had steaks, one with a bourbon sauce, and both thought they were excellent.  
The sides and salad fixings on the buffet were very fresh and attractively set out. The gumbo was magnificent.The place is easy to spot on the Amherst highway and there's a private parking lot.  
The service was very attentive and efficient and the ambiance of the place was warm.  We felt very welcome and appreciated.. Prices are quite reasonable.  We'll be back.  .

Great salad bar and fresh fruit!  Prices are affordable and food is pretty good.  I had chicken tenders and baked potato for $6.99.  Tenders were tasty and hot, with a tad bit too much pepper but not annoyingly so.

Big buffet.  Great desserts.  

I love their chicken fried steak plate.  It's a large portion (too big).  Did I mention they have desserts on their buffet?  They are pretty good.  Kids eat free on some nights with adult purchase.
