Since it seems that we all must pay homage to The Cubbyhole, I believe it's my turn... Â This place will always have a special place in my heart. Introduced to me as THE after-work bar for the restaurant crowd, it seems that this place has come a VERY long way from it's less than favorable reputation in its early years. (i.e. WAY before I was ever there!) Partially renovated and expanded in 2005 (?), this place still retains much of its charm. The bartenders are the best around - You take care of them, and they will MORE than take care of you! (Love them all - esp. Kristen, Wayne, Rob, & Jen!) With the more recent additions of draft beer and daily specials (in addition to happy hour), this place should definitely be on your list of regular hangouts. Don't forget to stop by for your seasonal dose of Buckeyes and Bengals - Just show up and you'll be part of the family before you know it! These people know how to party!
I've been known to say (on more than one occasion) that I'll move back to Dayton if they ever get a patio. It's all they need for the ultimate perfection. ;o)
If you live in Centerville, you go to the Cubby Hole. Â Thus, conversely, if you DON'T go to the Cubby Hole, you don't really live in Centerville. Â (That's right - screw the Pour Haus and Bargo's.) Â This place is a total gem, albeit in a hole in the wall. Â It is less of a hole, though, since they expanded.
Awesome bottled beer selection. Â Inventive bartenders! Â (Ask Kristen for an Applesauce!) Â There's pool, decent music, a wrap-around bar, another bar, plenty of tables... Â But more than anything there are just some of the best people in south Dayton. Â This is one place I miss dearly.
