Half way through the meal and the food is very good for such a small town. Driving through from nyc and very impressed. Great spot

Been there twice, and it's exactly what we were looking for ! Good bar food, fast and nice service with very friendly staff, fun ambiance in the village, always packed, but we did not wait too long for a seat as well as for the food! we'll be back!

Eh...It's not bad for what you can get in the area, but insane expensive for the Wurtsboro/Ellenville climate. It has a rustic feel to it that could be really incredible if they stepped up the quality of staff and cuisine. Our waiter was nice, but wasn't very attentive to drink issues and other simple thing (butter for bread, knives, etc).

As for the food - it was pretty overpriced, twenty-something dollars for a small piece of salmon? Really. It lacked flavor and was tiny. The veggie side seemed to be those frozen veggies you get from the store and spend three minutes to heat up - it had all the same stuff, snow peas, carrots (shaved in a particular pattern), cauliflower, etc. Really uninviting and didn't taste fresh at all. The best part of the meal was the baked potato? Me thinks not.

It has a nice feel, but lacked some key stuff, like taste. Glad I tried it, don't think I will be back.

Stopped by here as I came to this restaurant many times growing up and I was in town and was craving their mussles and pizza. Service was a tad bit slow but we were a party of 8 so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.  My food was amazing just as I remembered and I even got to have a few pints of Yuenling which is not available to me on the West Coast.  I will be back on my next visit to NY

Nothing fancy, not bad, but not great. The bar is the best part compared to the restaurant. It's a good stand-by but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

My friend ordered the Irish coffee.  It had a green mint drizzly thing on it and he drank it in like 5 seconds. It was weird because we hadn't even ordered our drinks yet. We ordered 3 White Russians. They were strong as hell. Our waitress was sweet. The couple down the bar ordered wings and seemed tense. I love this place.

The boyfriend and the friends (formerly married now dating) and I stopped into Danny's on a cold windy day after a splurge at G Mart. Wow were those drinks strong. We ordered three White Russians (aka Caucasians in certain quarters) and they were a bit on the sweet side but hey, that's better than sour! The boyfriend ordered an Irish coffee and it was green. Never saw that before those crazy potato lovers! The mussels? Those were another story. There were 145 of them in one order. I know-- I counted!!'

    Holly Moly
After an arduous drive back from that hell hole, Canada the wife and I bopped into Denny's for a meal and whoooo hooo  The chicken wings sure made me fly and the Irish coffee was beyond pleasant despite wifey's objection, "isn't it a little early for a drink?"  After looking at your ugly face all day and hearing your back seat squawking, it's never too early. God everything she does makes my flesh crawl. My dad was right. Anyway... Also try the copious muscles. Devine.

Having a good waitress makes the difference between an average diner and a good dining experience. My advice ask for Ronnie when you sit down as you will not be disappointed. We were seated right away for dinner and pleasantly greeted. The atmosphere is warm and cozy maybe a little dark for some. Our waitress Ronnie made drink recommendations right away as Shock Top Pumpkin was on special for $2.00. We ordered several appetizers which would take time so Ronnie asked if she could bring our salads first which was a great idea. The salad dressing was a Balsamic which Ronnie gave us the secret ingredients. I had the grilled Pork Chops with the ginger sauce. The pork chops were large and juicy. The vegetables were slightly undercooked which some people like but not me. Ronnie kept my table clean, my drinks full and my food came out hot. The rest is up to the kitchen staff.

Honestly, this is one of the very best cheeseburgers I've ever had. I don't know what makes it so good, but it just is. I think it's the char on the burger -- yummy smokey burny blackness. Delicious.

I've never gotten anything else here other than the burger. Why would I? I have family living nearby and I'm on the west coast, so whenever I get upstate to see them, I make it a point to get a burger from Danny's.

    See you next time.

I don't get it.  30 minute wait on a Thursday for a terrible meal.  Is it because there is nothing else to eat in Wurtsboro?  Calamari appetizer was a salt lick.  Ordered raw clams against my better judgement, I thought they tasted old, my husband thought they were fine.  I ordered mussels, they came with the spaghetti dumped over the top of them and a cup of chopped parsley "dumped" on top of the pasta.  I had to send the mussels back because they did not prep them properly and I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy eating a beach.  I hate sending back food but it was inedible.  As a replacement I ordered the "stuffed pepper" soup.  It was fine once I added salt and Tobasco sauce to it (read "it needed flavor")

To their credit, my kid had french fries and they were great, our other guest had the ribeye and he really enjoyed it.  My husband had a shrimp caesar salad and the shrimp was way over cooked.  The saving grace was our waitress, she was lovely and very accomodating - and apologetic.

This place is too inconsistent to bother with.  The food is all over the place and not worth the money.

Oh, and when we sat down at the bar to wait for our table, the bartender, took my drink order and my husband's drink order, then walked away leaving our guest who was sitting between the two of us wondering if he was going to get a drink.  She couldn't take three drink orders at once?

    Feh.

Danny's is a routine stop after a long day's hike in the Shawangunks. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, the service is attentive and friendly, and the food is top notch! During my most recent stop, I ordered chicken marsala with pasta. It was so delicious I had to stop myself from cleaning off the plate! My friends ordered chicken marsala and NY strip steak, and they both enjoyed their meals. We will be coming back on many more trips to come!

When we wandered in (we were staying up the road, at Honor's Haven) we were a bit unsure of what we would find, seeing that (from the outside) it looks like a local's hang-out.
But once we went in, we found an amazing menu (with great prices!!), huge portions and a great staff.
    I can't wait to go back :D

My husband and I were in the area visiting family and decided to eat here as there aren't many options in this town.  We weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised!  All three of the meals that we ordered were pretty tasty and good sized portions.

Pretty good food. Good place to drop by after a hike.  Good customer service.  Nice relaxing atmosphere, but nothing more than relaxing/cozy.

Pretty good food in what seems to be the only upscale place in Wurtsboro.  Large dining room, huge portions, friendly service.

We stopped by for a beer before we headed to a show in Bethel Woods and we ended up coming back 2 more times in our short stay!  Comfortable, friendly and affordable.  Thanks for having us and making us feel welcome!

I have nostalgia for Danny's, it is the landmark for turning down 209 to the summer communities. We often stop going or coming from our summer bungalow for a 'nice' dinner here. It is a low key bar restaurant, but for the casual nature of the Catskills, this is more upscale. The food is good, the service is friendly and it sits adjacent to both Custard's Last Stand and Stewart's where you can grab some ice cream to finish off a summer dinner.

Tips: Burgers are four star at least and so is the fried chicken.

Nothing amazing but pretty decent food for the area.

Without a doubt, it's my favorite place in the Catskills. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly wait staff.  The absolute best buffalo wings I've ever had. Its a shame they don't bottle the wing sauce (I asked).  Their portobello burger is a must for any vegetarians. Delicious onion rings.   Also, a great variety of non-pub fair -- all those home cooked meals you expect from your mother.

Not a bad place at all.  Its in a really old house from the 1800's with huge columns, but instead of being fancy its more of a pub with a dining area.  The food however is solid, and runs from typical pub stuff for good seafood and some Italian and cajun stuff.  I usually order off the specials menu, from which I've had mixed results.

Once I had a jambalaya off it that was made with pork, chicken, and sausage; there was mostly pork in it, the sausage wasn't the right kind, and most importantly the right flavors weren't there.  Another time, I had a broccoli rabe and sausage ravioli dish that came in a vodka cream sauce with tomatoes, proscuitto, and some other stuff.  The ravioli were homemade and great, although they could've been balanced better.  The sauce was a little overly creamy without enough flavor from the stuff that was thrown in, but the dish was still very good.

The best single thing I've had is the white zuppa di mussels,  Although we ordered it as an appetizer, it came in a huge pot like when its a main course, and had around 60 mussels in it (no joke).  Most importantly, they were fresh, properly cooked, and were delicious.  I'm proud to say I somehow finished my main course after eating half of that.  I've tried the red zuppa as well, and I prefer the white personally.  Bottom line with this place is its no frills, has some inventive stuff, and has great seafood and chops.  If you live nearby or are passing through, its definitely worth a shot.

I just ordered Pizza from here. NEVER AGAIN! The crust was horrible, the sauce was horrible, and cheese. . . we won't even go there. It may have been decent if they actually cooked it.

    AVOID THIS PLACE!
