Uninspired either too bland or way too salty dinner buffet. An insult to "Amish cooking". The only dessert on the buffet was jello because they want you to spend even more money buying pie or cookies from the gift shop area. Will never eat there again & would never dream of recommending it to anyone.
Review Source:One phrase to sum this place up: Country Kitchen Nightmare house.
This place is the epitome of your Grandma and what her dream home would look like. (Hoakie chandeliers and all) The place looks like a mansion in fact, someone in our party asked, "Is this attached to a hotel?" when we pulled up, because it was that massive.
Sadly, there are very few real "Dutch" kitchens left in Ohio. A lot of the Mennonites have migrated further west, or into Pennsylvania, and the food here is just a travesty. The buffet is filled with high starched, and carbed foods that Grandma can eat even if she forgets her teeth. I will note, the chicken did smell delicious, but I passed and opted for the cheaper lunch menu option of a fried bologna sandwich.
The sandwich was pitiful and could be compared to if someone sliced up a summer sausage, layered it with swizz cheese and threw it in the microwave for a few seconds.
The fries... sadly were the best part of my lunch.
I did buy some sugar cookies for later in hopes of something to brag about for sad excuse of an Amish mansion.
You will like Dutch Heritage IF: You have a large party, are old, have a lot of kids (since they eat cheap), enjoy buffets, enjoy high starch, enjoying eating slop, or enjoy Country Kitchen interiors.
Not for me. Sorry.
