Staten Island called, it wants everybody to come home.

Great during the day/evening after the beach but be warned that weekends get packed. For the amount I go out I'd say I'm damn good at not waiting in lines and I somehow ALWAYS wait at D'Jais. Place tends to be pretty wild but keep in mind:

    1) its still heavy on the guy side of the guy/girl ratio
    2) there is a recurring theme of "below average" intelligence individuals so expect to be dissapointed if you want to talk to that special somebody you've been dancing with all night.
    3) it gets PACKED inside
4)They are pretty adamant about only letting girls in as the night goes on.
    5) Do not come here at night if you just want to hang out with your friends, you'll be separated in the first 20 minutes.
    6) Get here early or expect to wait in line for quite a while. It's common for them to cut off the line and turn people away around 12:30 so don't plan to bar hop and end up here.

Bar A is just up the road, the crowd tends to be younger (read: not 30 and still living at home) and is way bigger with a more varied atmosphere. D'jais is an awesome experience and is fun once in a while but it gets old if you are going more than once every few weeks.

My girlfriend's and I are a big fan of this place! Especially for Sunday Fundays! Our routine is beach all day then Djai's for happy hour... Def. worth waiting in line. Please don't come here if you don't like to dance and loud music because then you're clearly too old!!

The best beach bar in Belmar, NJ.

Feeling hungover on a Saturday at the beach... Djais is a walk away from the beach.  You can leave your belongings, go have a drink and come back.  It is perfect!  In addition, on the beach promoters walk around handing out drink tickets, so most times you do not even have to pay for the first round of drinks.  Djais is a must visit if you are in Belmar, NJ.

I prefer the happy hours at DJais and day drinking than I do the nights there.  It gets INSANELY crowded.  But it is a great and fun atmosphere, so I understand why.

The drinks are reasonably priced and you get TALL glasses.  On Thursdays, cover is free for ladies and ALL drinks (yes all) are only $3.50 for ladies.  That is usually when my gals and I will go!

Alright kids, listen up D'Jais is a rite of passage.  Once you turn 21, you NEED to go to D'Jais and continute to go into your mmm late 20s.  This ladies and gentlemen is the REAL JERSEY SHORE not f-ing Seaside Heights with a bunch of guidos ahemm wannabe guidos from Rhode Island (Pauly D) and yo Snooki ain't even italian!!  Everyone who is a REAL GUIDO (holla at my Staten Island/Brooklyn Fam!) takes over Belmar every summer so yes i THANK GODDD Jersey Shore kept out of Belmar and away from my beloved D'Jais and THANK GODD Gov. Christie stepped on up and made sure to do all in his power to make sure the boardwalks (D'Jais) was fixed/rebuilt. whew!

D'Jais is great for their themed parties (especially saturday nights and/or sunday funday, drink specials, and especially if you go with a group of your cute girlfriends.  Good looking crowd (yes guido but if that's not your style, you are obviously not the targeted clientele).  D'Jais is all about having a blast, not taking life too seriously, dancing to fantastic house music (holla DJ Kipples!) oh and GETTING ON STAGE and getting #SWAG!

so ladies, once Frankie grabs the mike, "you gotta be smiling, gotta be dancing, gotta be shakin' that ass!"  Shake that butt!

Don't wear heels- more like fab summer outfits with flats/sandals and don't bring a huge purse.  Lots of bathrooms, Lots of bars, quick service because DJAIS doesn't let just anyone bartend there (aka no amateurs...those bartenders PAY to be there and fight to show they are worthy of bartending there.  All in all, it's a great time, just roll with it.  HAVE FUN!

    BERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Say what you want, but I love it. I have also had my share of bad experiences here in the past, but with my new found love of the daytime D'Jais, it gets the 4 star treatment.

Saturday during the day and Sunday Funday. It gets NO better. Leave before the "vampires" come and you'll have a great time. $4 Red Bull/Vodkas.

Also, don't wear a WHITE v-neck or denim shorts because the bouncers will stop you immediately at the door and tell you to go home. Odd, but true.

    D'jais...
So many crazy nights in here.

I love and hate you at the same time.
I hate that I love you so much.

Really packed, but bathrooms are always clean and they are very organized.

Best days and times to go?
Saturday during happy hour and Thursday & Sunday nights!

I clearly understood what they meant by sausage fest when I went in there...other then that it's an okay place to go, with the right people of course..

I came here with one of my family members just to see the beach.

Not a lot of people when I went here. I wasn't feeling well when I went so we sat outside for the fresh air. I only ordered a bowl of their chili. It wasn't that great. I've had better.

Service was kind of slow. Took a while for a salad and a soup to come out. It took a while to flag out waiter too.

The atmosphere is obviously a beachy feel. At the time, there wasn't a lot of people here but seated outside, you can see the beach.

I don't care for bar food so I don't think I'll come back here again.

There is no reason to hate, I guess.  Last weekend called for a trip to the Jersey Shore.  Belmar was voted for 2-1.  After seeing so many pictures of D'Jais on my facebook, I decided to stop in on a Sunday afternoon at 4pm.  First, I went into the club.  I liked that it was dark in there.  You can go party at 11am if you want!  The cast was 100% Jersey Shore and surprisingly full!

After a short time taking in the cream of the crop of my awesome home state, we went to sit down and have a bite to eat.  The sit down "restaurant" portion was a little disorganized.  The tables weren't full, there were four waitresses for as many tables, and they all walked past us like we weren't there.  Eventually, we ordered and had the buffalo wings and the swamp thing.  Food was as expected.

Two guys were thrown out of the club while we were seated.  Does that happen often?  In pictures, I always see the wheel of fortune thing but didn't see it while I was inside.  Next time, I won't leave until I find it!

It was the Thursday after the 4th of July. We had never been to Belmar before, and we were very curious to try to the World Famous DJ's. We had trouble finding it originally, we knew it was on the beach but did not realize it was a French establishment. It was a warm and pleasant day and decided that to sit outside was the thing. We weren't very hungry, but could indulge in some beverages and some snacks. We started off with some cocktails, the veritable Belvedere Palmer and the unassuming Long Island Iced Tea. The drinks were tasty, and they worked up our appetite. They were served in fancy glassware and were refreshing, a little too much ice for my fancy.  As our appetite grew we moved onto the Nachos. They were fresh and a sizable portion, but the presentation was lacking. It was as if the cheese and chips were cooked and then separate globs of condiments were just carelessly added in singular piles. It made for a very interactive meal. As we moved onto a second round of drinks, we were dismayed to learn that it wasn't Christmas in July and the happy hour specials only applied to the bar inside. All in all, it was an enjoyable interlude in early July.

    Cheers,
    Beau

Get Ready to Pump Your Fist!!! Your at the Jersey Shore!

So think Jersey Shore and every stereotype that goes along with it.and bam now your at D'jais and every stereotype is there lol... However, due to the fact I am a Staten Islander at heart I am allowed to have my guido moments every once and a while, and not gonna lie this place is pretty epic! The music is going everyone getting down with thier fist in the air and just have a great time!

For all those ladies out there there be sure to go on Thursdays cause it Ladies Nights! Free entry and $4 mixed drinks!!

So if you are down for an epic Jersey Shore style Party Do It!!!! However, fair warning this place is  not for everyone, but I personally loved it.

Finally (after a year)...The Rock...has...come back to guidotown...

I don't understand how this spot can afford to have a free deelish buffet every Friday night for happy hour...whatevs, I ain't complainin, jus eatin...eatin a lot....and drinking giant glasses of (almost) pure vodka.

Yea, Bar A also has a buffet but it DOES NOT have the talent that D'Jais has...not even close.  The patronage is an amalgam of Jersey Shore/Jerseylicious/Jersey Housewives/Mobwives-looking chicks.

    Gotta luv it.

"Oh dear, about to attempt D'Jais for the first time..Wish me luck!'

That was my facebook status one Sunday afternoon when my friend finally convinced me to go to D'Jais this summer. I love the show Jersey Shore solely for entertainment purposes. I grew up in Brooklyn right near Bensonhurst and then moved to Staten Island. I am fully acquainted with fist-pumping juiceheads. They are hilarious to watch but the idea of actually partying with them made my head hurt a bit.

I completely judged this place before I ever step foot in here which I am sure most people do. If you don't take it so seriously this place can be a lot of fun. I was surprised at just how much I enjoyed myself.

Perhaps if I went on a Saturday night my opinion would be slightly different but I recommend going late Sunday. While the crowd was still a bit much it wasn't jam packed.

If nothing else, D'Jais is a great place to come with a group of friends, get drunk and people watch.

I've never been here during happy hour or to get drinks, so I can't comment on the fist pumpin' guidos everyone is complaining about. I've been here twice for lunch when I was visiting the beach.

    Pros:
-Cool! When I can't stand the heat anymore this place is a godsend.
    -Quick service
-Decent variety on the menu (at least for a boardwalk restaurant)

    Cons:
-Food is generic and not very flavorful. It bores me
-People are always running through and with the tables its kind of a maze in there, this isn't a place for ambiance
-The bathrooms are hard to find and dimly lit and on the dirty side

I like it better than the fast food options but would I come here if it was in my hometown? Probably not.

Update: I was watching an episode of Jersey Shore today and the new roommate Deena compared an Italian club to D'jais, saying it was her spot. If she's gonna be here I think I'm going to avoid it...

If you love/resemble the cast of the Jersey Shore, you will think this place is 5 stars.  If you grew up at the Jersey Shore, you might think this place is one star.  I'm a former local who can find amusement in the uber-tan, sweaty house-loving guidos, so I'm splitting the difference and giving it a three.

Make no mistake, this place is ridiculous.  Ear-splitting, fist-pumping, ass-shaking house music with few words shakes the bars.  We walked in and were greeted to three drunk people somehow making out with each other at once. On the dance floor, one drunk guy decided that not only did he not need his shirt, but his shorts were also superfluous... so before 10 pm, he was dancing around the floor in his boxer-briefs. That is a pretty good indicator of what kind of place this is.

That said, for 2 hours on a Saturday night, this place was super fun.  We danced and drank cheap drinks and had a blast taking in the sights.  If you have a sense of humor, even if you aren't a Jersey Shore clone you will have a good time.  It is packed and when we left to head to our favorit Belmar spot (507), our ears were throbbing as if we'd been at a concert.  This is no every week place, but everyone who loves the shore should go there at least once.

Nice place to get creepy, But as far as restaurant? bloowwsss a big one

The food gets the only appraisal because at least that was halfway decent... The service sucked, the place is crammed, drinks were more expensive eating at the restaurant as to the actual bar (does that make sense?) and the bill comes with 20% gratuity.... If i had known all this I would've been more than happy drinking on an empty stomach at the bar and enjoying the view with my shades on.... Absolutely you re gonna spot a douche-bag, gorilla, juice-head or five but its the Jersey Shore... Just load up on drinks and see where it takes you!

Happy Hour?  Is the shit. 3.50$ drinks? strong and tall? Count me in!!!

A  crowd of meatheads and barbie dolls that starts to bump you from back and front isn't pleasant!!

DJAIs has never appealed to me and i have given it several chances but I just won't be back after last Thursday.....music rocks but people suck.

As a restaurant, this place blows.  But as a bar, I could see how this place gets poppin'.  I went to this place in the afternoon on a Thursday, and there weren't that many people there, but I saw about 6 bar-tops throughout the place, so this place probably gets crazy at night and weekends.

I sat down with a few friends and long story short: service sucked, waiters were semi-slow, and the food was alright.  That's all I remember about the place.

    2.5-3 stars

I went during Memorial Day Weekend (Sunday). I thought I'd be able to get stamped quickly around 8:45 PM & go meet up with friends. WRONG. It took more than 2 hours to finally get in (most people had gotten stamped earlier than that & were allowed entrance first). We weren't even that far back in line. Of course there was cover, the usual beach lovers from NY, but the music was pretty good at least (if you're a house fan). 2 redbull vodkas for $15? Awesome. I usually get 1 for that price, BUT, the catch is, they're pretty darn weak.

Hopefully I can make it to a Sunday happy hour as that's what my friends rant about.

as soon as i tell people that i spent every other weekend last summer at d'jais, i get some pretty harsh judgments. but judge away, people. i don't have orange skin or dyed hair, but i do like to dance and have a good time.

if you go with the right people (aka a group of laidback friends, better if all same gender) in the right mindset (let's just have fun), you will not have a more hilariously fun drunken night by the beach. really. don't take this place too seriously, and you will have a good time.

if you aren't looking to get very drunk and/or dance, then you probably shouldn't go here. gets crowded. dancefloor turns into a sausagefest. plenty of male-to-male face grabbing, fist-pumping, and dudes hit poles/bars/etc. to the beat of house/trance/electro-whatever music. get ready for the horn.

if you're looking for a chill night, to hear what anyone is saying, or to not be bothered by anyone else at the bar, please do not go here. i made the mistake of showing up here sober once, never again. but don't be intimidated, i just prepped you for the night.

so just GO with it, laugh it off, walk away when you need to, dance, and you will probably make it out of here with some hilarious times you can share with your friends (life advice? maybe someone will take it.) and don't piss any one off, because you'll probably see them the next time you go back.

The people who hate on D'Jais are not the target audience. If you go Thursday-Sunday and dislike electronic music, sunglasses inside, overly done girls and huge dudes...this isn't the place for you, so you won't enjoy it!

This is the place to go at like 2pm on a Sunday when you've been baking in the sun since 9am. Thursday theme nights are amazing as well. Drinks are huge, strong and cheap and they move super quickly. Listen for the fog horn...because that's when the napkins go in the air!

Somehow I don't think people are coming in to see the decor. They have 4 bars, so you never have to wait too long to get a refill on your enormous goblet.

Girls: heels are 110% unnecessary. You will look like a FOOL if you wear them. Also, guids are generally short, so why be Sasquatch?

Jersey shore institution 110%, I'm a fan. I usually go here a few times a month when it's warm out. (Full time working in the city limits my nights out down the shore to Friday and Saturday usually.)

hahahahahahhaaha ok ok first you have to read everyone else's review before mine because they are just hilarious!

Ok I've been going to this fist pump congregation for years and there truly is nothing like the jersey shore. The bar opens around 12ish pm. By 2-3 pm the locals roll off the beach and hit this place up for some cocktails and eats.

The cocktails are served in this ginormous beer pillsner like glass and they are strong! The food is really good too! I usually get the Atlantic Salad with the cusabi dressing is it is YUM-MYY! They generally play some strange combination of early 90's free style and 80's throw back music until about 7 pm or so. So its a safe bet to get their during regular happy hour time if you want to beat the guido fist pump crowd.

Once the sun goes down the freaks come out and watch out you better!  Around 8pm the large pillsner's turn into dixie cups and the blowouts and fake body parts come rolling in the door. Becareful not to scrape passed one of these guys for their shaved arms surely will take a layer or two of your skin off, if not, get you punched in the teeth instead. LOL, just playing... well, sort of ;)

They play hard house music all night long from 8 pm to 2ish am when they close and its always one sick track after another. The crowd, as crazy as they might be, always bring such a powerful energy that you just can't have a bad time. People screaming, whistling, singing, smacking counters and walls, doing anything they can to just make noise and bring the energy through the roof.

Best bet if this is not your scene, to get there early, find a spot near the bar closest to the bathroom, they always have bar stools there, and plop yourself down for the night. You'll never have to wait 20 minutes to get a drink like everyone else, your right near the bathroom so the line, regardless of how ridiculous it is, is never that long because you didn't have to trek from the other side of the bar to get there and you can just obvserve the creatures in their habitat and people watch lol

Its probably one of the few places where you can get really banged up and people don't look at you funny. You can dance like an idiot as long as you don't go knocking into people and the crowd will cheer you on!

It gets a bad rap for being way too packed, lines out the door, guidos with their cut off shirts, shaved arms and sunglasses at night everywhere and the girls dressed like Snookie (and act like them too!) but its really a show and a good time if you accept it for what it is and take my advice. It will absolutely be worth the entertainment value you'll get!

Thurs and Sundays are the best days/nights...  I dont know why but Saturday seems to be the night when all the creeps come out.. Guys- it is not ok to walk around by yourself staring at girls, it is creepy.

BEST MUSIC EVER  - this place is just FUN ..  it can be enjoyable by everyone depending on when you go... if you hate crowds then go early and leave before its gets packed.  If you;re not drunk by the time it gets ridiculously crowded, people will realllly get on your nerves.  Don't wear heels you will look like a fool.

Leave your originality at the door. I was dragged out to this place and I was not a happy camper. Everyone looks, dresses, and acts the same. I will never ever go here again. It's a dump and the people are trash. The people are not that attractive here. But then again orange skin has never been attractive.

Who needs cable to watch an episode of the Jersey Shore?  Just go to D'jais!!!

The NJ shore has some great places to drink and have fun!  However, D'jais is not one of them, unless you like being surrounded by roided-up guidos in wifebeater shirts fistpumping all night!

This is not the place to go to enjoy a beer and meet interesting people.  It's honestly like Halloween in there - the people are very artificial!

If you like people watching - D'jais can be very entertaining!  If you're looking for a much better place, try Bar Anticipation on 16th Ave.

If Guidos had a "Central Command" military type place, this would be IT!  The heart and pulse of guido nation.  Guidos represent everything that is wrong with New Jersey/NYC.  They've become a true Italian American subculture.   Lighting a match anywhere near the jersey shore would probably cause all the dried hair gel to burn like kindle.  Fist pumpers everywhere.

If I had to choose between being surrounded by Guidos (who lack real jobs and do nothing but party) or be waterboarded at Guantanamo, I might actually choose waterboarding.  I think that says a lot about this place.

Unless you are 6'2, 210 and jacked, you don't stand a chance with any ladies here or anywhere down the shore.  If you find any sign of intelligence in this place, it would prove there is intelligent extra terrestrial life.

1 star?  Not quite.  0.  Definitely not.  I'd give this negative starts.  In fact, it's so gudio the other 4 stars are thanking me for not using them.

In a nutshell, everything wrong with the shore.  Hang at a real bar.

I did not and would no got back in there. too many people bumping into you. It was a disaster. Unless you like that sort of thing. What a waste of $15

At one point do you accept you have become a tad too old for this place? Leave something for the young ones now... it is time!

The music is wonderful though... it isn't all new stuff which is great and it does make you want to move your body in ways you didn't know you could...

It gets soooo packed most of the time especially opening day, coming up, which my friends have been eagerly awaiting for months.. cough... pathetic... cough.... complete with countdown clocks on all of their myspace/facebook pages and even on their desktops....

I had my summer house in Belmar this year and always went to D'Jais every friday over the summer for happy hour. Yes, its the home to the fist pumping music. It's good to get there early like around 4 or so. They had the free buffet which was awsome.  The drinks are good and can make you shit-faced early in the night. The music was awsome every time but definitly made it fun with friends. It does start to get crowded by 8 but if you are having fun than, who cares!!!

Ok, so I only went once and I went with my friends from Staten Island.  This place is like an empty warehouse with three bars, randomly scattered throughout.  I remember walking in at the beginning and just thinking "uh-oh"--definitely not my style with the fake baked, overly muscle bound boys and girls girls everywhere (mostly everyone I met was from SI, but maybe that's because I was with people from SI).

The point is, it's not that appealing at first.

Then you start drinking and drinking and drinking like tomorrow is the end of the world.  The drinks were pretty cheap & strong (I went on Sunday's happy hour).  Suddenly, it seems like a good idea to be on the dance floor bumping and grinding with all the other drunk fools.

There is something about the atmosphere that takes over you and it ends up being the most fun ever.  Maybe it's the fact that everyone is crazy drunk so no one cares--no one cares about what anyone else is doing, drinking, looking like, making out with, whatever!  It's a complete free-for-all without any sort of pretension so it's in direct contrast to the city.

Couldn't do it every day, every weekend--maybe once or twice a month?  But DEFINITELY one of the best times I've been out.

You just have to be very, very drunk.

Ok...so I went here once and since I am originally from Jersey, I figured why not give it a chance.  NEVER AGAIN!!!!  It was overpacked with sorry to stereotype, large muscle Italians from the city that grabbed and had the most horrible accents ever.  They served drinks in plastic cups, which were all over the floor and the music was horrible to dance too.

For all the Jersey people who loves the BENNIES....yes I guess I have become a Benny....Go somewhere else for summer dance club fun.  Over priced...nasty gross guys and not classy at all.

    For that Nasty Belmar move

PRE-REVIEW DISCLAIMER:  I read a story about how a girl was getting danced on by a short but large Italian guy at this bar/club, she pushed him off and he pushed her back, jersey don't play!

As of the summer '06 I had never before heard of the "Jersey Shore" and was interested in why only my blacked out drinking friends mentioned it with a smile on their face.

I eventually went to this magical place to see my dreams smashed by an overbearing greased up Italian kid on steroids.  Needless to say the atmosphere was that of high school spring break minus the underage drinking of my buddies and I with an added bonus of increased police presence.

This story brings me to D'Jais, a place I would go with my friends starting at 3pm to happen upon over-priced drinks and extreme blacked-out drunkenness.  You get in this dark hell-hole of a place and begin to see a crowd forming only to hate it immediately.  As is the case with so many other things, your opinion begins to change when you have about 15 drinks in your belt and start to hear the inevitable sounds of the Jersey Shore...the boss, bon jovi, and of course the ever-lasting classic...SWEET CAROLINE!

The place grows on you and is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.  Get your eyesliver adjusted because this place is dark and the booze is harsh (probably so you don't see that nasty thing you just made out with) and let the drinking begin.

I suggest running to the bar and slamming 10 of the large liquor drinks, then finding some buddies and getting all the napkin caddies together for when the strobe light goes on and the fog horn hits...then throw those napkins up and start dancing to the jersey shore techno remix extravaganza.

Oh and if the strobe light/fog horn surprised anyone reading this then you obviously are not Italian or from jersey and should steer clear of this place, it is not for the faint of heart.
