I've been here twice since my initial review a week ago. Â There just aren't any other brewpubs near me, and this place is continuing to impress. Â Happy hour prices are quite nice, as is their happy hour menu. Â My normally health conscious brother is a sucker for their fried pickles which are nicely breaded but by no means greasy, and have a nice salty crunch. Â For 7 bucks the fries, rings, and chips platter is a HUGE amount of finger food, and we enjoy the garden sauce that comes with it. Â The regular (rustic) burger is also quite good and comes with the same excellent fries. Â We got a basic pizza (marinara, regular cheese, basil) and it was passable, but at least it was large enough for 2 people and relatively cheap. Â One odd thing was that the burger of the week last week was the veggie burger, but at 11.50 (priced higher than many meat burgers) we didn't feel like trying it... if anyone reading this HAS tried it, please message me ASAP so we can go back for it!
Somewhat unusually for a brewpub, I am having difficulty finding the 'optimal' beer. Â So far I like the Midas Touch, Raison D'etre, Indian Brown Ale, and Chicory Stout. Â I am attempting to try all the beers on the menu before I pick a favorite.
Also a very special thank you to the hostess and manager for finding my lost credit card and hanging onto it until I could pick it up (I swear I only had two beers!)
Man, this place is always packed when I go for dinner service. I try to avoid going on the weekends, but when I'm feeling beer and good old American food, it's either Dogfish or Gordon Biersche. My favorite is probably the seafood pizza? It has crab meat on it. Super delicious. Liked the servers. Don't really like how noisy the restaurant is. Recommend the Indian pale ale!
I guess the only other thing.. I know it's an alehouse, but i wish they had more hard liquor...
