Great little restaurant.  Good food, good drinks, cool atmosphere.  On the small side.  I sat by the bar at a table and could hear all the wait staff babble behind me, but not a big deal.  We will definitely go back, you have to be in the mood for the ambiance though.

Not your typical restaurant experience.  Small plates and wine flights.  Perfect for catching up with your friends or a first date.  I liked being able to try different wines before I settled on one.

I'm so late posting this and I apologize. My husband brought me here to wine, dine and no doubt impress me for Valentine's Day. He succeeded in every category. We live near Domaine Hudson and I had already read the reviews but I can't say enough about the ambiance and decor. It just doesn't get more intimate. As others have said, if you are looking for a place to impress your date, this is a good one.
Moving on, our server was endearing. We got the complete white glove service. The wine list is extensive. We ordered a bottle and a few cocktails. They had a prix fixe menu for the holiday that we ordered from. I had the pan fried sea bass with risotto. It was delicious. Hubby went for the surf and turf (yes he went all out) and while he loved his lobster tail he was a bit underwhelmed with his steak portion. But we've done fine dining before so I wasn't shocked but I guess he was really very hungry.
I had a very good time at Domaine Hudson and next time my hubby is ready to drop 200.00 on a meal, I'll be there.

It's been about five years since the last time I've eaten at Domaine Hudson.  They have new management and have remodeled since the last time I visited, but some things remain the same.

The service and food are still good.  Our water glasses stayed filled and our server was very attentive.  The owner walked around introducing himself to every table, asked if everything was okay, and engaged in small conversation.

We started our night with home made charcuterie.  There were several meats.  The waiter did mislabel one of the meats as Spanish Prosciutto..huh?  I thought that would be called Serrano ham and besides the meat looked and tasted like salami.

Besides that, the dishes I ordered looked and tasted great.  I loved the scallops.  They tasted buttery on the outside (I guess from being basted in butter) and creamy on the inside.  They were cooked to perfection.  The lobster risotto is a great dish also! It has taken me a while to write this review so I forget the special that we ordered but that was good.

They have a nice selection of wines by the glass.  They sell full or half plates.  The half plates have a reduced price and allows one to try many dishes.

If you are celebrating a special occasion and looking for somewhere to go in Wilmington for fine dinning, this place is worth checking out.

Food was ok, wine list was not bad for the area. Probably the best in upscale bar/dining in the area.

Great wine selection. Love their ipad app wine menu! Had their salad with pecan/ carmalized nuts. For the entree went for their special - rack of lamb with mint sauce. Was well made, the chef took enough time to make it a good meal. Over all enjoyed the experience, will go agian.

We had lunch there.  The restaurant is pricy and the food is not that great!  Yelp stars misguided me.  I don't think it's going to last long in Wilmington area.

Absolutely thought this was one of the best dinners I ever had.  It was so romantic and wonderful.  The high-tech iPad wine menus were a really cool start to the night.

The waiter was so polite and so knowledgeable about eat dish and the wine that goes with it.  The wine was phenomenal.

We did the five-course chef tasting, and it was decadent.  I don't even remember everything that we ate, but there was shrimp and veal, and gnocchi, beautifully presented.  A lot of the food we ate is stuff my boyfriend would NEVER order or eat so I was shocked he was willing to do the surprise chef tasting, but even he loved it.

Fine dining at it's best, and I enjoyed the whole three hours.  I can't wait for my next special occasion to go back!

Disappointment comes to mind when I think about the dining experience I had last week at Domaine Hudson.
-Disappointment in the Kitchen Staff and Disappointment in myself for waiting so long to post my review. My Thursday night started off on a great note. My mom and I arrived just at the tail end of happy hour and our server Diego obliged my request of having the happy hour wine flight at our table. The menu changes seasonally and they have an amazing wine list and a very knowlegable staff.

We started with a cheese plate featuring cheddar and a firm goat cheese. Strike one was the moldy piece of cheese that arrived on our board.  A swift replacement piece was brought to the table and we enjoyed the cheeses very much. When it was time to order we both decided on the "Graze" Plates of Scallops. Mom is not a fan of food that comes from pigs so she inquired about the ingredients in the "hash" and she was informed that it contained just veggies and spices. When the plates arrived on our table there were three beautifully cooked scallops atop a "hash" that contained BACON. I think my mom's reaction was a little over the top (spitting venom not really just the bacon back out on her plate) When our server approached we explained to him the issue and the food was sent back. Apparently the kitchen staff was not too pleased so it became a giant ordeal and we were advised we would have to wait to have our meals re-cooked. What came back out 15 minutes later was BLASTFAMIY in the form of food.
The kitchen totally overcooked the scallops and short changed us on one. The scallops were presented completely different than the first time and I was beyond annoyed.  I have never been treated so disrepectely by a kitchen staff. The last time I checked my sitting down to eat at this establishment created revenue that pays these uncouth ill mannered, pompous clowns. I will go on the record and say that the customer service we received was stellar from the acting manager Javier to our server Diego. They really did put in so much effort to try and rectify the situation but it left such a bitter taste in my mouth. I have recommended this place several times to friends and family and I am so disappointed in the way I was treated I would never dine here again.
Our server Diego was the highlight of our meal; he gave great service and tried his best to make up for the kitchens lack of class ( he should be promoted).
I've dined at Domaine Hudson quote a few times in the last 5 or so years. I can only hope the kitchen staff here gets their shit together and learns that customers should ALL be treated the same and the quality of the product you serve can and will be reviewed.

I loved this spot! Was really impressed by the wine options and that their wine cellar is available for review via iPad using a really cool app! Great for a date or special occasion.

Domaine Hudson is hands down one of my favorite places to eat in the city. With an intimate, pretty interior and a wonderfully, friendly staff you will be exported from the hustle and bustle of downtown Wilmington to a European getaway.

The food will transform your senses. This chef is amazing! Food is fresh, cheese platters are amazing and oh the wine! Love it! I could go on tasting all day.

If you want to try it out I suggest you go for happy hour and ask for the 3-3-3 special. It is 3 glasses of wine, 3 ounces each, for $3. Try this with a cheese platter or light appetizer and you will get a great sense of the place.

I just can't say enough great things about this place.

Although it is a little pricey it has NEVER been a disappointment!

    Great times.

Intimate, quiet.  Awesome, awesome wine list.  (did I say awesome).  Very good food with a relatively limited menu for wine pairing purposes.  Can order smaller plates for a greater variety of dinner.
Superior wine & cheese knowledge and very adventurous when pairing.  I have yet to be disappointed!  Love the casual couch/bar area, but wear your dinner jacket at the table.
We will be back, again and again!

I have had a couple of occasions to share a meal at Domaine Hudson, and have enjoyed the experiences very much.

First, a note to the gentlemen: This is a great place to take a lady on a date. The ambiance is very appealing, with dark wood and heavily-colored wallpaper throughout, and the atmosphere is quiet and intimate, without overwhelming in that regard. It's also a bit hidden and out of the way, and not as well known as, say, the Hotel DuPont or Chelsea's. Lastly, it's not cheap (girls don't like cheap), but it tries to make your money count, with exciting dishes and artistic preparations.

Now, to the review: As mentioned, the restaurant looks and feels very nice. The service is above average. The menu is creative. The food is always plated very well. While I am pretty ignorant in the realm of alcoholic beverages, I had a pour on one occasion, and it was quite good.

That said, the restaurant is lacking in some regards: I get the impression that the restaurant gives itself a bit of a pass for looking so good and offering so much that is fun and interesting, as the taste of the food is not quite up to its price. As mentioned, preparations look phenomenal and feature complex ingredients, but I've noticed some small mistakes - fish is too salty, salad a bit over-dressed - that I would not expect at this type of establishment. Also, with entrees approaching $30, I would like my meal to at least nip at the heels of memorable, and I have yet to enjoy anything here that I felt needed sharing afterwards.

Fix the small misses, and focus a little energy on really making things taste delicious, even if at the sake of complexity, and Domaine Hudson will have earned that fifth star. As is, it is a fine establishment, with attractive decor, good service, and exciting food, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for an upscale, enjoyable evening out.

The food was great! everything we had was delicious. unfortunately the service was horrendous. I think we saw out waiter 3 times the entire night. after we were sat - an HOUR after our reservation time - we didn't see him for the first time until 20 mins later. Thereafter we saw him when he asked about desserts and handed us our check. I had to grab the hostess for bread, questions about the menu and to hand the check off. Such a shame bc the food is really outstanding. we will be back - but I'll call ahead to make sure that this particular server isnt the one on duty!

I am a native new yorker, current DC resident, who was in Wilmington for a summer internship. So, my big city snobbishness in place, I have to say I loved Domaine Hudson.
They had an excellent selection of wines - it's not everywhere I can ask for an inexpensive Langedoc Pinot and actually find it on the list. The food was also quite good.
This was last summer so i can't remember what exactly I had, but I was really pleased. It's a charming place with helpful staff.

This is the BEST restaurant in Wilmington.  We have dined at this place every 6 months or so since it opened and returned tonight after a several-month absence, and it continued to impress.  They have re-decorated again, and it's lovely.  The service was great, the food was AMAZING.  It's pricey, but worth every cent.  The special appetizer - pork cheek - with mushroom polenta and balsamic reduction, was simply divine.  The smaller portion of gnocchi was nicely balanced with kale.  The monkfish entree was also incredible, with leek ribbons and a sauce that had an amazing sweet compliment.  Cheese to finish and great drinks/wine.. come ON, you gotta go.

SO and me stopped in on our way home from a cross country road trip. We arrived around 4:30 pm on Sunday. We used Yelp and Tripadvisor to make our selection. Expectations were high. We started with the cheese plate, which was fantastic, and the highlight of the meal, the rest was down hill. The proprietor was charming, and provided wonderful descriptions and wine recommendations. Wine list was extensive, many good selections by the glass, and you can select from 0.2 oz to 0.5 oz. Beet salad was "ok", too "beety" for me. Tuna was way overcooked and tough, not to mention bland. I love osobucco, and the owner highly recommended it. Unfortunately, it was a pathetically small portion (for $28), and while the broth was good, the meat was no better than boiled pieces of pork, lacking flavor and texture. Net, underwhelming and overpriced.

Who knew? Who knew something this snazzy existed in Wilmington? We went here this past weekend to celebrate a francophile's birthday with some wine, cheese, and a charcuterie plate.

The location is a bit strange. You're puttering through the hospital area of Wilmington and all of a sudden enter a quite dimly lit romantic-type restaurant. The decor is a little old fashioned, but it fits nicely.

We decided to get a few 1.5 oz pours so we could try a bunch of different wines. My boyfriend went for beer instead, they have a pretty solid selection of beer as well.

The staff was more than willing to make suggestions and pairings which was super helpful. There were I believe 8 cheese selections (which rotate). We split a 5 cheese plate and were really pleased with the variety and taste of each of the cheeses.

I'm a bit anti-pork products, but my friends really loved the charcuterie plate. It came with duck pate that night which was really yummy paired with the spicy mustard.

They seem to have a really awesome happy hour: $3 3oz pours from 5-7pm as well.

Labor Day weekend and the new ownership has been in place for two weeks.  Warm setting.  Amazing wine selection but with a full bar too.  Friendly, knowledgable server.  Cheese plate and beet salad/fennel appetizers were stellar.  Excellent crispy skin salmon with English peas and mushrooms.  Fellow diners say the place remains one of Wilmington's best.

Have been here multiple times and every time it impresses me. Will be going back again tonight!

    Atmosphere:
Its small size and dim lighting makes it a nice romantic spot or just a casual chat with some friends/co-workers. There also a private room in the back for larger groups. Their 3 glasses of 3oz. wines for $3 each for happy hour (5-7pm daily) is a must.

    Food:
Starters - Everytime I drop in I order their Foie Gras. Its a 3oz piece of perfectly seared goose liver paired with roasted berries and peach syrup over French toast (pain perdu). It melts in your mouth like butter.

Main Dish- I've had their Duck Confit Salad, Double Cut Pork Chop, and Pan Roasted Barrel Cut Rib Eye in the past and all of them are amazing dishes. The Duck is lightest dish and then the Rib Eye followed by the Pork Chop.

Dessert - I've had their Molten Chocolate Cake, Champagne Sorbet, Triple Chocolate Gelato and one time I had their special pear Sorbet. All of their desserts are specially crafted and delicious. You can taste all of the flavors of ingredients used and how fresh everythign is made.

    Service:
The service is top notch and the staff does a great job of describing their menu. If you are unsure feel free to ask and they will take their time to explain all the details. The food does tend to take a bit longer than other restuarants because theres only one chef and his assistant, but that give me more time to enjoy their wine.

    Side Note:
The other night we decided to order a cheese platter and let me tell you they have a small but amazing selection of cheeses that pleases your palate. I was pleasantly surprised since I'm not a cheese person and I found it to be very enjoyable.

Conclusion: If you are in Wilmington, you should definitely stop by without hesitation.

Had take out here and I always get the same thing - Duck Confit Salad.

First, call to make sure they are open. Once, I tried to do take out and they were closed for a private reception.

Second, order the Duck Confit Salad. All my coworkers who have tried it have gotten hooked on it. The salad is a marriage of arugula, picked cherries, spiced almonds, and the Duck Confit. The Duck Confit is usually  a whole leg that just breaks by the touch of your knife. They give you more Duck than salad. Note: this is a rather light dish so I suggest you order something else. I have ordered the Roasted Beet Salad but it wasn't that great and it was such a small portion.

Third, for all the take outs I have had, they give you bread and butter. If you didn't get any, don't be robbed! Remember to ask and they will generously give you a piece of bread.

I have not tried and probably will not try anything else besides the Duck Confit Salad - call me old fashion but I know what I like.

I dined at Domaine Hudson with a large group of colleagues. The food was great, but the service needed some pointers.

If you market yourself as an upscale restaurant (which Domaine Hudson does), I'm not looking for loud, boisterous, entertaining interactions with the waiter. I go out to dine because I want to enjoy the company of my dining companions and, in this case, engage in business conversation.

The waiter seemed to think he was part of a show - a la Brian the Chotchkie's waiter from Office Space. Each time a dish arrived, he felt compelled to interrupt conversation and make loud, useless announcements. He cleared the dishes away before everyone was finished eating (a major pet peeve of mine) and continued to find ways to interrupt the dinner conversation through clearing things away. Overall, his behavior was very disruptive.

At one point, he was removing the napkin rings from the table (totally pointless) and bumping into people's chairs. I had to ask him to do it after the meal.

I'd go back to Domaine Hudson, but I hope that they've given their staff some coaching on how to wait tables at a place that's higher end than Applebee's or Chili's.

I visited Domaine on a Saturday night recently.  We were.looking for a place we hadn't been before.  The reviews were good so we drover over and arrived around 7:30.
We were cordially met by the host and immediately seated.
The ambiance o fD-H is sounded, yet sophisticated.  Art abounds in a variety if forms but it's the design is tasteful neither cluttered or sterile, so I didn't feel I was eating at a flea market or in a museum.
The waiter made useful suggestions about wine to accompany our meals which were delightful.
My salmon was cooked exactly as I requested and seasoned.to perfection.
This is definitely a place we plan to revisit.

My family loves this place, and when I'm home we usually make our way over for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is on the small side, so the ambiance would be great for a date or a nice dinner out with your family. I've never seen the restaurant completely full, either.

Food: the food is always delicious and the menu changes regularly. Last week, I had a delicious endive/apple salad ($11) and basil & mint risotto. My mother had a mixed greens salad ($10) and a grilled flat iron ($14 half/$27 full). The iron came out a bit rare, but they took it back, cooked it for a few minutes, and it came back perfect. My father ordered the steamed mussels with roquefort and bacon. Everything was tasty. The entrees come in full or half portions, which is great. Also, I don't eat cheese, and the kitchen accommodated me in every way- took off the salad on my cheese, didn't put any cream in the risotto, etc. (the waiter actually told me that the chef doesn't use much cream, even in his bisque soups). For dessert, we all shared an amazing apple tart with caramel sauce. Since I'm not eating cheese, we didn't order the cheese plate- but I've had it before and it is definitely a stand-out and should be ordered.

Wine: the wine list is huge. The waiters know their stuff and are happy to discuss your preferences in detail when choosing a wine. The bottles range from low-moderate in price to very expensive. Last time we went, they were actually out of our first 3-4 wine choices. The waiter seemed embarrassed, but together we found a great bottle regardless (their wine list is THAT big- their website says they have over 425 bottles).

Beer: apparently they recently started selling a long list of craft beers! I didn't get a chance to have one, but they all looked good. Definitely worth a try if you come here and don't like wine!

Other: last week, we really wanted some bread with our meal (especially for my dad's sauce!). We asked a waiter for some bread, and he brought out a teeny tiny chunk on a small plate and gave it to my dad. He ate it in about 3 seconds. Then a waitress came by, and asked him if he wanted some bread for his sauce- he said yes, and again they brought out a tiny chunk. Were they having a bread shortage?

Overall, Domaine Hudson is definitely a great place. It's cute, the wine is amazing and unique, and the food is delicious. It's never too crowded. There are occasionally blips here and there (bread MIA, wine bottles not being in stock, meat coming out a tiny bit too rare), but the staff is always quick to make things right. If you're planning a date or a nice family dinner out, give Domaine Hudson a try!

Domaine Hudson is a great spot for a first date.  Its romantic & cozy & the menu is just enough & always interesting.  I love to get the wine tasting & of course the cheese & olives are a must.  And that's just for starters.
Meg & Tom do a wonderful job of remembering our names & it always makes us feel like family!
There's even a private room for special occasions.  Can't wait to visit again.

Tried Domaine Hudson with two friends last night and did not want to leave! If it wasn't for my drive home to Philly, I would have tried many more glasses of wine. Our server Joe, let us try two wines when we first sat down and we all agreed we loved the Carl Roy 2008 Cabernet Savignon the best, so we bought a 60 dollar bottle. Ha ha! And this was before we had anything to drink - it was JUST that good! We split a delicious cheese plate, all had salads and I had a half portion of the butternut squash risotto. I appreciate a place where you can have half portions, especially at steeper prices. I think the prices are a little steep for Wilmingtonians, but Domaine Hudson can demand these prices because of what it offers: thoughtful food, a cozy atmosphere and awesome wines. I love it!

It was a singles dinner at Domaine Hudson for myself and some friends on Valentine's Day, or Cupid's version of the Island of Misfit Toys.  I am still not quite sure if I am the Polka Dot Elephant or the someone else in that group.  If you don't understand you are too young and need to look at Wikipedia or Google it.

Anyway onto the actual review.  I did not partake of the wine parings or the 3-3oz pours.  Therefore I know that my review of DH is a bit limited since it is a wine bar.  I will return for a wine tasting and evaluate the wines.

For the food I was very impressed by this little eatery in Wilmington in an unassuming store front.  A cheese plate was excellent with several cheeses.  The italian gorgonzola and bleu cheese were creamy and rich.  The ewephoria, a sheep milk cheese from holland, was good, but not the star. Boucheron goat based from France was soft and silky with a rich feel but lacked the power of the gorgonzola and the bleu.

One of the nice things is that for several dishes you can order a small plate or a half-order.  This is meant to allow you to order two small plates as a meal to expand your culinary adventure.  What also helps is sitting next to young ladies who are unlikely to finish their meal and will let you share.

We ordered the risotto of the day for the table for all the misfit toys to share.  That day it was a butternut squash risotto with pine nuts.  The pine nuts were slightly roasted with a rich sweet taste with the crunch being a nice counterpoint to the risotto.  The rice grains were full and plump with a velvety mouth feel.  The butternut squash was mild but sweet and rich with a generous cheese portion.

I had a small plate of the grilled swordfish.  It was perhaps cooked a little further then I would prefer, I do like it medium rare.  But the fish was not overcooked, it was still moist in the middle.  The grill lines were well executed.  it was served over a bed of grains (I forget the type) with some mango and a little heat.  The fish was a good cut.  But the side was not quite right, the heat with the mango had a bit of a clash.  Almost like it was trying too hard to be fancy and different.

The qual with kumquats was excellent.  The star was absolutely the kumquats which were sweet and rich with just a bit of resistance from the preparation.  The quail was juicy and firm without any gamey notes.

I got to partake of some of the fennel crusted pork chop.  The fennel was not overpowering but lent the right amount of fragrance and herb to the chop. The chop was cooked perfectly with a juicy med-rare core.  I was pleased that it was a chop on bone to keep it juicy and tasty.  If I were to return I think this would be my go to dish besides the risotto of the day.

For desert there were several options and we all ended up sharing a banana semifreddo with chocolate gelato, a caramel gelato with sea salt, and vanilla creme brulee.   The creme brulee was creamy, rich, and uniform.  I hate when the creme brulee has either soft or hard spots from uneven cooking, no problem here.  It was cooked evenly and perfectly with a good thick sugar crust layer.

The banana semifreddo was soft, light, and velvety.  This was the first time I had a semifreddo and was suitably impressed.

The highlight desert was the caramel gelato with sea salt.  The gelato was sweet and rich with  a quick melt in the mouth.  It was rich and creamy with a nice counterpoint of the sea salt to highlight the sweetness of the gelato.

i would return to Domaine Hudson again without any hesitation, the food was great and the restaurant itself was impressive.  The atmosphere was close, cozy, and comfortable without being crowded or feeling small.  Staff was attentive and quick.

I ate at Domaine Hudson for the first time earlier this week.  I was in town visiting my family and we went out for a special meal (although it quickly became clear that this would be a great place for a more informal glass of wine and small plate at the bar).  The wines were outstanding, but probably more impressive was the staff's knowledge of them.  We sat at the bar while waiting for our third and asked the bartender to recommend a light summer wine (it was a billion degrees outside).  Out came a Portuguese vinho verde and a dry Italian rose.  They were the perfect way to set us up for what was to come.
We ordered the tasting menu and were not disappointed.  From the amuse to the dessert, we were delighted by how delicious and well-prepared everything was.  The wine pairings brought the already fantastic food to another level.  Hearing about the wines and why they had been chosen was informative and friendly.  Our waiter's enthusiasm was infectious.  The food was classically (and near flawlessly) prepared with a few modern touches and flavors to make it stand apart.
Go have dinner there.  Or sit at the bar and enjoy.  Listen to your server or bartender - they are pros.  And trust the kitchen.  You won't be disappointed.

If you love wine, beer, cheese and pate this is the place for you. The option of small and large plates is nice as well especially if you like to try many things in one seating without becoming too full on one dish. What truly is special to this restaurant compared to similar styles in PA and NJ is the owners and staff; from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave you will always feel like a guest and not a customer; even the decor is designed to make you feel like you are in someones home opposed to just a restaurant. I suggest heading in for happy hour (which actually starts at 11:30 when they open for lunch) which consists of 3 pours of 3oz's of wine for $3 each; sometimes you can catch a $60-80 bottle of wine for the cheap price of $3 a glass. All in all; this is a great restaurant for good ol' Wilmington! =)

I cannot believe that it took me so long to find this place!  I was in a wine mood and I decided to check it out on a whim after finding several closed establishments in Wilmington on a Monday night.  (I did only go to the bar, so I cannot comment on the food.)  The wine (and bottled beer selection) is incredible and very reasonably priced.  I was amazed by how helpful and knowledgeable our bartender? (could have been a sommelier) was.  I was in wine heaven.  They make it easy to sample too because you can order 1.5, 3, or 5 ounce glasses.  I will definitely be going back!

Just an additional note:  DH does not have very late hours.  I did not realize this until I was leaving and felt somewhat embarassed because I had hung around a bit after the closing time.  They did not kick me out though, which was nice.

Domaine, with its "many leather-bound books and smelling of rich mahogany", a wine selection certain to lead to analysis paralysis, and a bathroom lined with pages from yesteryear's fashion magazines, quickly jumped to the number one spot for me in Wilmington, DE.

Although the entrees lacked depth of flavor, I found myself reaching a new level of understanding of both cheeses (does not pair well with truffles) and wines (a grenache/shyrah blend is very smooth, but too sweet) after a wide sample of both, and will certainly be back soon for more. Of everything.

Had a really great meal here the night before Valentine's Day.  It was packed and we sat at a Bistro Table (by the car) and it was nice and quieter.  We got the 4 course chef's menu with paired wine tastings and everything was fantastic.  Expensive, but nice every once in a while.

Favorite "Special Night" restaurant.  The wine comes in small sizes so you can sample a variety of wines from their extensive menu.  You can pair wines nicely with each course without getting too drunk.  The food is excellent, a bit heavy, but that's expected from Continental food.  The foie gras was excellent - wife and I share this every time.

Atmosphere is nice -- dim, relaxed, warm, romantic.  Sometimes can get a bit crowded.

This was my second time at Domaine Hudson, the first attempt I had to leave unexpectedly.

THE WINE HERE IS EXCELLENT! I liked it so much I killed two bottles straight to my head within the first hour. The food was decent, I had the meat dish paired with a dry cab. I even ate the garnish, and I barely ever do that. I was feeling quite jolly and in the holiday spirit, so while my neighbor was in the bathroom I took the liberty of tasting his salmon. I hate seafood so I immediately spat it into my napkin. Apparently that's where I went wrong, because when he got back and half of his salmon was gone (with each bite I imagined I might enjoy the next - I was wrong) and he saw my napkin on the table full of chewed up salmon, he asked me why I would do that and what kind of person am I, etc. I blocked the rest out because I was staring at his guest's (his wife?) boobas. That was the straw that broke the camel's back, as they say.

Yadda yadda yadda, later that night while I slept on the floor of my holding cell, I only wished I had shown some restraint and not finished my meat - my tummy was feeling kind of sick (not food poisoning, just over eating). I called my mom and asked her to update my Facebook status to "in jail" and hope someone would come bail me out, but they ended up letting me out in the morning anyway.

Had a fabulous dinner (again) at Domaine Hudson with a great bottle of wine (07 Roar-Gary's Vineyard pinot noir) recommended by owner Tom Hudson. It went well with both our entrees. I had a delicious seared salmon filet with mushroom risotto and my better half had the dry-rubbed flat iron steak with red onion and black bean relish. Nothing disappointed, and we managed to save room to split a [chocolate lovers alert!!] chocolate terrine with sun-dried cherries for dessert - oh, and a glass of yummy 10-yr Portuguese tawny port, too.

Had a wonderful time here!  I was suprised by my sister when she asked me to join her for dinner for my birthday.  I had never even heard of this place either!  Our server was great, gave us great tips on what to get and gave his honest opinion on what went well with what!  They had a very good wine list.. I was just more suprised that they had Willamette Valley!! I was so excited!  It made the dining experience that much better!  Cheese selection ruled!  I would tell anyone if they are looking for a place to be wined and dined this is it!

My boyfriend planned out a Friday night and brought me here. The area isn't the nicest, so when we turned onto Washingon Street and our GPS said that we'd be there in less than half a mile I was kind of nervous. I was happy once I saw the sign that read "wine bar."

It was a really nice establishment. Our waiter had tons to say about the menu and was able to recommend several things that my boyfriend and I loved, based on the kinds of wines we told him we liked. I would absolutely recommend doing the cheese tasting there. I've only been there once, but our waiter told us that they change the cheeses they offer daily. I really don't know cheese that well, but he recommended several that were great.

I took one star off because I didn't enjoy the entrees there that much. My boyfriend and I ordered the osso bucco and the curry seared tuna. The osso bucco wasn't very good -- it was a lot tougher than other osso buccos I've had. The tuna was cold. It may have been seared and then left to sit for a little bit so the whole thing was room temperature when we got it. Kind of gross.

I would definitely go there again, but just go to have a salad and some of their cheese... and of course the wine!
