I've been to their Taproom at least a dozen times and each time it's always been super chill. They have a nice selection of guest beers to help accompany their own beers that are brewed in the back room. You can order food from this side of the building and it's brought to you from across the street, the foods usually always been really good and I've yet to order anything that I didn't like. The beers are decently priced and so is their food, if you're ever in downtown Pittsburgh it's def. worth a stop.
I have noticed however that their Concord brewery is always more lively than this one, but I think that's just because of the location of each of them.
I wrote a review of this place awhile back, after a Roy Rogers concert, and my opinion of EJ Phair is even greater than it was back then. What a great place and SO nice to be able to stay on my own side of the hill to hear great music. Last night it was Tom Rigney and his band, Flambeaux, Wow!! The crowd was small ( boo to you guys for not being here) but Tom's performance was fantastic. There venue is great and you all are missing a bet by not coming out.
