Over time this place has went downhill!!! The owner Keith has run this place into the ground!!!!! He is a very moody person and can be downright rude!! He regulates what the dj plays so nobody ever wants to stay long because the owner wont allow hip hop, rap or r&b, not even dance music!!! Ridiculous is you ask me!!! The bartenders are horrible!! Â The are the worst mixologists I have ever encountered!!! They need lessons on how to mix a drink and the measurements. After the bad experience a few weeks ago and the racial comment I heard coming out of the owners mouth, I will steer clear of this place and I will also spread the word to everyone and anyone who will listen!!!
Oh and depending on his mood and bad attitude, he likes to close the club early and kick everyone out!!!! WTF?!?!? SMDH!!!!!
Thank you Ultra, your staff is awesome! Just took a taxi home and got there safe and sound. Wouldn't have known who to call if it weren't for the bouncers/security (super great guys), thank you so much! Also lady bartender's were awesome, helped me try to stop someone from drinking beyond their limit, was a little too late, but they gave us free water for this person and tried to keep an eye on us. Not often that a bar or establishment will do all that they did! Also dj Geoc, rocked that place, Â so if you love to dance, this guy will do it for you good ;)!
Just please, Drink responsible and have a designated driver! Or take a TAXI!

Great place. It was fun and the DJs were great. Every Saturday night they have events that pump up the fun, if you want good music and good drinks and you want something local this place is great for groups there are lots of tables and it never gets too busy.
Plus one star for the drinks-well made good nicely mixed.
Plus one star for the atmosphere, great music and people.
Plus one star for the staff, everyone was really nice and cool.
Plus one star for the two DJs.
Minus one star because a bathroom stall was broken leaving only one stall for us ladies.
I can't comment on the night life, because I haven't tried it yet. I dropped in here late afternoon/early evening. It has the look of an upscale bar, but the vibe from the people hanging in there was totally laid back and easy going. I noticed the owner made a point to talk to everyone in there. Had a couple drinks and we were on our way. I don't get to Brentwood that often, but I would totally come here again when I am in town and try it as a night spot. I hear this place is really cool later on with DJ's and live bands.

Fun crowd, great music and best of all, the drinks are strong and priced well. Whether you're out to shake it on the dance floor, hang out at the bar or people watch, Excess Lounge is really a great place to go. Been here for a few "Girls Night Out" and everyone in our group had a blast.
Used to be an awesome cigar bar. Not anymore, went there friday to smoke one of there cigars. They were out of 2of my usual favorites. Â Okay im easy, I found one I liked. Security opened they case took out the cigar and told me I would have to smoke it outside. Â There new policy ...can't smoke inside on Friday and Saturday nights. Guess they are just another bar now. I loved going there and did not mind the high prices because of the atmosphere and being a fun place to burn s stick. Too bad they lost my business.
Review Source:I just moved to the area and I love Hookah and cigars, so a friend and I ventured over.
The owner was a little rude at first, and looked at his watch when I asked for a hookah. He said he usually only serves hookah on weekends which made no sense to me.
He reluctantly prepared it for us, however, there was only one Shisha available and the hookah was a single hose.
The place was practically deserted, but we managed to make the best of it.
Also, when I opened the humidor to examine the cigars, I was chastised for doing so.
Won't be returning.
This place is where I go to relax any night of the week, the bartenders are always helpful.
The intimate low lighting and the satisfying aroma of cigar's and hookah is only amplified by the amazing drink selection that is provided by the full bar and the good drinks the bartenders make. and for those of you that see the words cigar in the name and think it gonna smell and be all cloudy your mistaken it's always fresh and clear.
And on Friday and Saturday nights they have the best DJ motive the best DJ around he plays what ever you request and keeps the crowd moving it's a great place to bring friends and just chill or a great place to go solo and meet people in a chill low-key environment.
The security at the place are friendly guys the treat everyone with respect and are constant professionals.
i love the place and will be going back all the time.
I have strolled by this cigar lounge a number of times, on Thursday, after an excellent dinner at Prevot's (directly across the courtyard) I decided to indulge. I am sure glad that I did.
I had an excellent Montecristo and a nice Maker's Mark Manhattan while enjoying the company of several other cigar affectionados. I talked baseball with the gentleman next to me, and life with the couple across from me and writing/books with the man on the other side of me. We had a great time and enjoyed the conversations, drink and of course the cigar!
It is a nice place to go to relax and enjoy an unhurried cigar, meet an eclectic group of people and have great conversations.
I recommend highly!
I cant find no better way to spend a Friday evening after work than to sit in a comfy leather chair, sip on a healthy serving of Macallan, and enjoy a premium cigar while catcing up on sports or engaging in a good convesation.

Ever since I first checked out this spot I have loved it. Keith knows how to treat his patrons. His dedication to customer satisfaction and quality should be a benchmark not only for other cigar lounges, but all other businesses.
You walk into a dimly lit lounge and the first thing that catches your eye is the bar. This was recently added and you cant help but step back and admire the quality of liquors that Excess has available. Liquors you say? YES ..liquors! This isnt your minor league cigar lounge with a few bottled  beers and a limited wine selection. No! We are talking major leagues baby. Excess has an extensive selection of top shelf liquors, beer on tap, and fine wines. I like to stick to my Macallan 12 or 18, but certain nights Im in the mood to try something new and Keith has never suggested a less than amazing pairing of red wine and cigars. There are usually drink specials on game days and holidays so dont miss up the opportunity to enjoy a drink and a cigar while watching your favorite sports team.

Excess spared no expense here as well. Excess carries a vast array of quality cigars such as Davidoff, Gurkha, Rocky Patel, Montecristo, and Romeo & Julietas. (**Bare in mind Excess is constantly cycling in new varieties so dont be deterred if your cigar is not there). I was very impressed to see recently that Excess had some Gurkha Vintage Shaggies. These are pretty rare and I have only found them at 1 other cigar lounge in a 60 mile radius. Want something new? Or maybe less pricey? Excess usually has a box or 2 of some new cigars as well as multiple boxes of budget friendly cigars. Point being, whether your an aficianado or a newbie, Excess has a selection to satisfy all palates and budgets.
After making a decision on my pairing for the evening I will either relax in one of the luxurious leather recliners, the leather sofa, or if I am feeling more sociable I will sit at the bar. Service is fantastic. I am never left wondering "Where the hell is the bartender?" or "What is taking so long." I believe there is 5 flat panel televisions. 1 on EACH side of the bar and 2 or 3 on the main wall so you never have to worry about variety in games or missing a play.
Every weekend on Friday and Saturday nights there is a DJ spinnin so make sure to stop by and check out the scene.
To sum it all up I love this place. Fantastic cigars from a wide array of brands and prices, delectable selection of top shelf liquors, quick service, great atmosphere, and good crowd. Whether your an aficionado whos looking for high quality cigars and a more than reputable scotch, or just a person trying to enjoy a mild cigar and beer while taking a load off....this is the place to be!
