Really fun place to go when you're in OC! I like how there is a dance floor with a DJ, but in the next room a live band. Also, the gazebo outside is fun to hang out in when you need a break.

I have been to Fager's several times for both the casual and fine dining options. I have always found the food to be excellent and my most recent visit on Monday evening was just as enjoyable as the last. My boyfriend made a 7pm fine dining reservation. We arrived early, so we sat at the bar downstairs and had a drink while waiting for a friend to join us. We ordered the hummus and homemade pita chips and a Caesar salad for our apps. The hummus and warm homemade pita chips were the best I've ever had! The hummus was very simple yet so tasty with a very unique flavor, unlike any I've ever had before. You can't beat homemade pita chips either. The Caesar salad was very fresh and of generous size. The 3 of us actually shared the salad and were very satisfied. I ordered the sea bass with giant prawn and plum sesame glaze. The portion was very generous and the sea bass was cooked to perfection. It literally melted in my mouth. The plum sesame glaze that the sea bass was served with was delicious as well. Highly recommend this dish.

My boyfriend ordered the cold water main lobster tail with veggies and baked potato. He enjoyed it, it was just ok, not awesome. Our friend ordered the blackened day boat scallops, he was pleased with them. For dessert we ordered the lemon lust cake to share. It was good, but not spectacular.

Overall we were very pleased with our dining experience. Having been here several times we definitely plan to come back again and perhaps try the casual dining. Each time we visit we always enjoy the sunset and excitement this place has to offer at sunset.

Fagers seems to be the #2 hangout after Seacrets in OCMD. I went here on a Saturday night for some drinks and dancing. There was a DJ in one area and a live band in another room. Lots of people were trying to escape the heat of the dance floor by spending the night on the deck. I had the orange crush which seems to be THE drink in OCMD. At a hefty $9.25 it was good but not worth the expense. I would like to return to Fagers to try all of the Delicious food the Yelpers are raving about as well as take in the sunset on the bay.

Oh I wish I could give this a better review. I've been going to O.C. for ages and I've always loved going to Fager's Island for "Fine Dining". First off, you can't beat the view and the 1812 overture routine is still cute after all the times they've done it. The service is also impeccable. Now for the not so's. The decor really needs updating - it is easily 20 years old and the carpet is getting that old smell to it. I wish someone would have washed the windows, too. As for the food, yes, it was prepared beautifully and my mother would love it and it tasted good to me, too. But, with all the competition now in O.C. with the more innovative menus and choices, you'd think they'd update the selection a bit more than they have and tried some more contemporary offerings. The menu was a bit boring. The simple steak and seafood formula I think will only last so long in this hot restaurant market. But, if you are taking your grandparents or parents out for a nice dinner at the beach, they'll love it.

This was by far one of the best places I've ever been. Dinner was great, especially the Maryland Crabcakes. The views are outstanding. The late night atmosphere was relaxed and the music was diverse.

If you are looking for an alternative to the craziness of Seacrets, you've met your match.

We came here on a Saturday night and we had a great time.. The only really bad thing is that it is super hot and humid with no cool areas really. So ladies put your hair up in a cool hairdo b/c it gets hot!!

They have a band, a dj, dancing, bar areas, a dock in the water... I would definitely come back here! Its a smaller, not as hyped seacrets!

I liked it. I got the "islander" sandwich and it was good. I would upgrade to the island wedges- they were good. Neat atmosphere sitting out right on the bay. The prices for the "lite fare" is reasonable. If you're looking for a bay restaurant, check it out.

Does it get any better than Fager's? Here's what you get when you go:

1. Breathtaking views of the sun setting over the bay.

2. Ample and varied seating suitable for anything from an intimate date night to a spirited outing with lots of friends. You can sit on the deck in the sun or in a shaded area with a perfectly beachified ambiance (think palm trees and fire pits). The bar is also an option, where you'll experience a live band that has never disappointed. The dance floor is always packed in the later hours.

3. The best orange crushes in town.

4. A menu that offers the choice between fine dining and lite fair. Food is tasty.

If you have a college kid's pocket, this place may not be for you. But considering it's arguably the best "night out" experience you could have in OCMD, I think the prices are fair.

Fantastic.
Did fine dining with friends and children, all of which loved the food and the view. Service is always amazing.

Did casual fare and the view and service is amazing.
Make it a point to go here to watch the sunset with a loved one.

I went with my whole family and we did fine dining so it was more pricey than the laid-back lite fare section but the food was amazing. We had fried green tomatoes topped with lump crab meat and pear remoulade and also the cream of crab, MD crab, and gazpacho soups for appetizer - all super tasty! The gazpacho was spicy so beware and the cream of crab - extremely rich (aka: filling).
For main course I got the crab cake with three scallops and they were cooked to perfection. The scallops were so tasty and tender and the crab had about 30/70 filler/meat ratio.
Dessert we shared the kahlua mousse cake. OMG, heaven! Definitely needed to be shared though cuz that thing was HUGE!
Wait staff was great, plates cleared right away, walked right in with no wait, but best part of the night - sunset. Every night they play Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture (go to about 14:30 and you'll recognize the ending: http://www.youtube.com/w…) to end perfectly with the timing of the sun setting. It's loud, but exciting!

Heard about it forever, never got around to going till a few weeks ago.
Was very impressed.

VIEW - really nice location, on the water
INSIDE - was spartan, but it is a beach restaurant.
Had seating for open air and a deck
SERVICE - was very good
FOOD - very good also. We all liked it.

They have fine dining upstairs and is a big bar scene.
Cool place.

Five stars for the atmosphere. I have never eaten here but I am sure its like most places in ocmd. I give this place a five for atmosphere because I feel this is the best bar in ocean city. yes I know secrets is there but Fagers has the same amount of fun in a classier atmosphere and friendly people. Place could be a little bigger that might be the only complaint I have. Dance floor is fun and they always have a great band playing. To make things better you can go out to the dock and enjoy some one on one time. Seeing the blue lights from the 90 bridge always makes me happy happy happy! Excellent place good times and like I said before. THE BEST BAR IN OCEAN CITY

Fager's Island is a unique place. In one location there is an upscale restaurant with spectacular views and fine dining, a casual food area, and a third bar/club location. We had our anniversary dinner in the fine dining side and it was fantastic.

We chose Fager's Island because we saw good gluten free reviews online. Our waiter (I believe his name was Ryan) was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating to my gluten free needs. My husband ordered a caesar salad to start and Ryan informed us that it was a large salad and he could put the croutons on the side so I could have some too. This attention to detail was really appreciated.

I had the surf and turf for my entree and my husband had the swordfish. Both were excellent. Having lived in Maine for 5 years, I'm fussy about my lobster but they got it right.

For beverages, my husband had an old fashion and I had the signature Orange Crush. Both were prepared perfect. The best part of Fager's Island is the amazing view of the bay.

I can also give a brief review to the "night club" side as we stopped in a for a drink a few nights earlier. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. The DJ played great music and took requests. Outside, one can walk on a boardwalk (pretty dangerous actually, no railings) out over the bay and into a gazebo. There are also outdoor fire pits. Get there early though. We got there around 8 and didn't pay a cover and got right in. When we left, there was a line around the block to dance in the club.

Fager's is great for a night out or a fancy dinner!

I was in town for the boat show and went here Friday night for some drinks. We arrived about 8:30 and it was packed. Apparently it was a bunch of the local talent each playing a handful of songs. The place seemed to be all locals who knew each other. We enjoyed the music (they should do this every Friday offseason), service was very good. Mixed drinks weren't very strong but we didn't leave until 1am and had a ton of drinks and the bill was less than a dinner for 4 at many places. A nice fun night out, will do again. I didn't visit the club side but it seemed to be doing decent given it was the middle of February.

Came here on two separate occasions; once for a night out with friends, and once for an oceanside dinner.

Both times I enjoyed myself. The Orange Crushes get me every time, and the food selection is yummy. I ordered a pound burger with fries, and finished every bite with a smile on my face. Friends ordered wings and seafood, all of which looked/seemed enjoyable. The many different seating options and outdoor bar/seating area on the beach make this place memorable and a lot of fun. Servers were also super personable and knowledgeable about the menu.

When I went out with friends, the band was great and we had a good time dancing. Fager's Island makes you forget you are in Ocean Shitty (just kidding Ocean City is fun).

Love the bacon wrapped chicken livers, lobster tempura and midnight mimosas!

Brunch is pretty good too.

Best place in OCM for sunset. They play Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture every night at sunset. The final cannon booms are timed just as the sun sets on the bay. Almost anywhere on the bay is good for sunset, but Fager's celebrates it every single night. It's a shame that Sandy took out the gazebo.

You really need to do this to complete your OCM vacation. Yes the drink prices are high. But you're on vacation, deal. Plan your day around getting to Fager's about 15 minutes before sunset on a clear day.Get a drink and find a good seat on the deck. You won't regret it.

My gosh this was an amazing experience for my boyfriend and my one year anniversary! It has such a beautiful view of the bay. The sunset really set the mood for the evening and only got better from there.

Earlier in the day we were debating on what to do for dinner. We had gone to a restaurant to get some crab cakes and decided to ask our server for advice. His suggestion was to go to Fager's Island since it has the best view of the sunset. Initially I wanted a view of the ocean on the beach, but I am glad we took his advice and settled on going here.

We placed a reservation for 7:30pm in the fine dining area. We arrived about 30 minutes to enjoy the view and to watch the sun set. We got there right as it was going down, and this offered a perfect opportunity to get photos. Check them out when you get done reading my review!

It didn't take much time for us to be seated for our reservation and to get a very nice view of the bay from our window seat. It felt nice to have sat outside, but with the light breeze that was rolling through it could have knocked off stuff on the table and that wouldn't have been good! Window seat is just as nice I suppose.

Our server was nice. She did a good job on checking in on us and we didn't really have any problems as far as that goes.

For drinks we had an orange juice based signature drink that really was just that -- over hyped and overpriced orange juice. It was okay, but not worth $8 per glass. It consisted of orange juice, orange puree, vodka, and a splash of sprite. I am not 100%, but it was pretty close to those lines. I really don't think drinking something with so much acid is a such a solid idea before having a huge meal. This was my mistake. The drink itself was a mistake to order too. Next time I will opt for a glass of wine.

For dinner we were completely spoiled. I ordered the 6oz. House Cut with Lobster Tempura that came with mixed veggies and mashed potatoes. For $38 I could have bought my groceries for a week, but to get spoiled by this meal is totally worth it. I recommend ordering the steak rare. It was very juicy and so tasty. Very nicely prepared.

My boyfriend ordered the swordfish that also came with mixed veggies and a baked potato. The fish was really nicely prepared. I usually hate fillet fish, but this was actually even good to me. They way it was prepared was very nice. The seasonings added gave it such a lovely flavor that can't be denied.

We ended up being here for a good couple of hours. We enjoyed the meal and each other. I really couldn't think of a better place to have gone to enjoy our dinner, and I am very thankful for the great suggestion from our server we had from earlier in the day.

I recently dined at Fager's Island and had a beautiful experience. The table had the most magnificient view of the bay and we arrived right in time for sunset. I ordered the Scallops and Filet Mignon which were cooked and seasoned to perfection! (I actually had the leftover filet the next day on a sandwich and was impressed all over again.).
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the wine list was nice and appropriately priced. They even have a casual dining space and bar on the 1st floor, complete with a man made beach and live entertainment ! It was just what we hoped to find on our trip to Ocean City.

First of all, I never give 5 star reviews for any restaurant in Ocean City, Maryland because there are no 5 Star restaurants down here. (They think they are, but they're not.)

With that said, we had an exceptionally good dinner at Fager's Island two weeks ago. We've been going to Fager's ever since they opened in the 80's. Years ago, and for a very long time they were 'The Tops', but then they hired some Chef from the pacific rim and they nose-dived in quality, so we stopped going.

I recently noted that people were posting mostly good reviews and so we decided to try Fager's again. We were quite pleased with everything; food quality, presentation and service. The love is back in the kitchen at Fager's and we wouldn't hesitate to go back again. Thumbs up! PS) Please bring back the Garlic Crab cakes, as they were my favorite!

Went for dinner. Sat at table for over 10 minutes, without even being addressed. The waitress walked by us at least 5 times without any acknowledgement. Finally, I asked if she was our waitress, very snottily said, "I'll be with you when I can" and walked away. I understand they were busy but at least acknowledge us. We got up, left and went to Dead Freddie's. Won't go back to Fager's Island again.

I went to Fager's for dinner on 7/21/12 for my sister's bachelorette party. There were 10 of us and we had *only* dinner there. Our server, Jen, was fantastic. We were a loud bunch, but she handled us well.

The food was really amazing. My mom and I shared a bowl of the delicious crab bisque. Love. Two of my friends shared a bowl of the tomato/basil/crab gazpacho and also loved it. I'm not a huge gazpacho fan, but I did try it and liked it. The bread was SO GOOD and I could have eaten a whole basket. I ordered the swordfish in a lemon caper sauce and it was pretty good. A little dry, but overall I enjoyed it. The star dish, however, was the Chilean Sea Bass with Plum Glaze that my mom ordered. Probably one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. This is where Jen, our server, really stepped up her game. We asked her to get the plum sauce recipe from the chef...and she DID. Overall, I think everyone enjoyed their meals.

I can't say anything about the club area because we went to Seacrets immediately after dinner. However, they had a live band and the singer didn't sound that great from the short time I heard her.

I'll definitely go to Fager's Island next time I'm in OC!

Be Warned this is a split personality establishment. The fine dining is about as good as in any major US city; excellent food and service with a good wine list. location and view are fabulous.

The flip side is the bar and "informal dinning" is really more a beach town club scene, totally different feel & clientele. Was disappointed the jazz and bluegrass was off stage before 9PM - I'm not a cranky old man yet, but was not looking for another loud top 40 pop mix.

Our first time at this restaurant and we've been coming to OC for 20+ years. We got there before 5, so our choices were apps and light fare which was fine since we had our little one with us. They still had good choices for a light fare menu, we ordered sweet potatoe fries as an app for our little one, we waited 30 minutes for the fries and when our waitress finally came we asked about them, she said "holy shit" they didn't come out yet!

Finally the fries arrived, and our dinners came out about 5 minutes after, two of us had the Cuban fish tacos which were very good, my wife had the shrimp salad which was good, but slighty bland. My dad had the "Kitchen Sink" burger which was good, but the fries were stone cold, so we mentioned this to the waitress and she literally put her THUMB on the fries then proceeded to take his entire meal away. Another waitress brought the burger back and about 5 minutes after that some hot new fries arrived. The waitress never came back until we were done to see how everything was, or if we needed anything else.

She was nice enough to take the sweet potatoe fries off the bill, which she never mentioned. I really hope she was a new waitress because she seemed to care less. We may try this place again, but not anytime soon.

Came here for the Friday night during MDW and the line was huge, but it moved a lot quicker than I thought. Worth the wait. The DJ was playing good music and it didn't feel too cramped when you found the proper nook for the group you're with. Drinks were cheap, too -- less than $5 for a beer? Yes, please. I'm used to higher prices in NYC/Hoboken and this was a nice a change. Also, you can't beat being right on the bay. Beautiful at night.

I've actually been to Fager's Island a number of times before MDW... for dinner though. I come to OC every summer with my family and I'd recommend it for dinner, too. Like I said, Fager's is right on the bay and it's really nice to be eating dinner in the sand as the sun's setting. Food's good, too. It's definitely one of our go-to restaurants when we're down there.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. We ate on the fine dining side, lovely service and fabulous food.

Mozzarella with Balsamic Vinegar:
So simple, but so delicious. This was one of the better tasting fresh mozerella's i have had, and the dressing was delicious.

Orange Duck:
My boyfriend ordered this dish and it was fabulous. The duck was moist and it was very flavorful.

Blue Cheese NY Strip Steak:
My steak was perfectly cooked to my liking and the blue cheese crust added a nice touch.

Also check out the weekly wine specials. We got a great a bottle of sparkling Rose for $15.

REVIEW FOR THE CLUB ONLY.

Walking up to the entrance there was a sign that said "NO RAP" and as I rap lover I was thrown off, because I really wasn't sure how to take that. I never take the racial route..... was it to deture black folk??? I've partied in OC before and never seen that before .

Whatever... i was with a group off 8! I couldn't say no... I will go here.

Anyway, there was a dj and band.

The dj played all the popular dance songs.. including some rap ( salt n peppa, heavy d, biz markie), so we decided to ask the the dj to play the birthday girl's fav song. Jeremiah - Birthday Sex. The DJ said " we dont play rap' WTF

You play Salt n Pepa but not Birthday Sex... where more of the song is singning.
INSTANTLY IRRITATED!!

The crowd was extremly mixed ( from 21 yo to 60 yo).

Drinks.. I asked for a shot of coconut ciroc.. nope, i asked for a birthday cake shot... he said we have strawberries" (o_0) wwhhhaaattt??

I finally just went basic and got a malibu and pineapple juice.

All in All when OC, there not many choices for places with a DJ ( not a band or juke box) and nice sized dance floor. I can think of 4 or 5.

It seems like all the bayside bars offer great views of the sunset and drinks. Fager's Island is the place to come to watch the sun set. They make it a ritual, playing the 1812 Overture as the sun makes it's descent behind the horizon. This is ritual and people come here to end the day with the sounds of cannon and percussion.

The indoor bar and restaurant areas are large and broken up into different spaces, so if one area is too loud, you can move to another area. The outdoor area has multi-tiered areas with tables and access to the long dock and gazebo extending into the bay. This is a great view of the sunset. Fager's even has a palm tree oasis to the side of the bar, where you can enjoy quieter conversation.

I really love the views and drinks here, but I don't enjoy how tiny the parking lot is. Walk here, grab a cab or take advantage of the valet parking.

I ventured out to Fager's Island by myself and had a nice chill time with strangers and great bartenders. Upon first arrival things seemed a bit hectic due to a private party. But other patrons and I discovered the beach bar off to the side where there were tables and a few places at the bar. Bartenders Joe and Mack were very personable and attentive. And their specialty drink - orange crush - was on point!

I had the crab soup and the BBQ shrimp wrapped in bacon which was pretty good but not amazing.

This was the perfect place to watch the sunset. They timed the 1812 Overture perfectly. It was perfect end to my summer.

We probably should have turned around when the racist door guy denied entry to the black couple in front of us because the guy's khaki cargo shorts (worn by most of the white male customers) were "too long".

Then you're thrown to the wolves to seat yourself in this giant campus of a restaurant. Food is totally mediocre. I'd expect more seafood options and better quality seafood for a restaurant right on the water. Wouldn't return.

I am sure this is a cool place for the local and tourists alike but it's a truly bizarre place with a very wide range of crowd, from 21 to 61. Typical Top 40s music, which I loath.

There was no cover charge for the night we got lucky! At first we thought it was the off-season scene where it was just going to be sparsely packed but it gradually filled up as the night progressed. There were ladies dressed in the most outrageous attires striking some nightmarish dance moves. The liquors used in the drinks were unheard of I was shocked so I asked for Johnny Walker Black Label instead. We had a great time celebrating our friend's birthday but other than that, it was a bizarre experience.

Frankly I dont know which was worse, "I saw the Devil" or this bar.

This is a great place to hang out for drinks, but I would not eat here again. They pack the tables together, our waitress was very slow and never got us refills. I started with the steamed shrimp, which were delicious and cooked well. The crabcake sandwich was a tiny crabcake on a huge bun. The crabcake was pretty good, but could have been twice as big for the price. I went with steamed veggies as my side. They were pathetic with 4 pieces of vegetables. Everyone else got sandwiches and seemed to enjoy them.
The drinks were much better. They make a very good Mojito and the view outside was a great start to our trip.

OK...now Ocean City is not known for being a culinary mecca, but my wife and I have usually been pleased with Fager's Island's fine dining. If you're not familiar, they have fine dining section and a casual dining, bar area.

If you are there just for drinks and a view, the casual area is great, although the food there is extremely limited. In fact, you can grab a drink while sitting in a tube which is pretty darn nice.

As for the fine dining, can't beat the view. Alright, so some people don't like the 1812 Overture at deafening decibel levels for the sunset, but it doesn't bother us. The problem was the seafood...the island sunset shrimp cocktail tasted really tough, overseasoned and overcooked. My scallops were not fresh and tasted like they had been left on the grill for about 10 minutes too long.

So the view was great...the caprese salad was good...but for these prices, which were high, you need to get the seafood right. Especially if you're in MD on the water. Take a pass...

Fagers is two different places depending on when you visit and what you are going for. Weekends and Mondays during summer it is a commercial party club. they charge a cover and make drink prices high to keep the riff raff out. Lots of bachelorette parties and cougars on the prowl (as others mentioned).

On the other hand Fagers can be a chill upscale beach bar and restaurant. Try day/evening and offnight (or basically any night in the off season. ***Note - In the off season the do a 1/2 price prime rib night on Mondays which is very popular). The fine dining side is superb with one of the most extensive wine lists on the shore. The lite fare and raw bar options are great as well but you are not seated in the formal dining room. Speaking of raw bar, you can get 12 oysters on the half shell for $12 and they are usually fresh and delicious. Drink prices are still high but they have a huge selection of beers and their bartenders seem to know what they are doing.

It's a bar/club at the shore. How much can you expect?

Hip hop room spins some good beats, live band plays some jams that gets the white people jumping up and down to, drinks are fairly priced, cheesy bachelorette "to-do" list and glow in the dark necklaces and devil horns graciously provided, drunk and sunburned "young adults" crowd majority of the rooms, but it was "A-OK" in my book.

Make the most of it.. if not walk a few blocks down to Seacrets.

After hitting up Seacrets on Friday night, we came to Fager's Saturday night looking for another happening place. It was smaller and more jam-packed than Seacrets, but had the same overall vibe. Maybe it was because I drank less and was more tired, but I just couldn't get into this place... after I waited in line about 20 min to get into this place.

Both the room with the cover band and the one with the DJ were packed... the kind of packed where you have to throw elbows to dance. I don't mind a little crowded, but drunk girl falling on me and old man stepping on me is too much.

And I thought I had died and gone to bachelorette party hell. I've never seen so many drunk bachelorettes in one place! (Well maybe on The Bachelor but I don't have to stand next to them and their friends). I guess Fager's does some sort of B party special, but there must have been at least 8 separate parties there, all of them stumbling around in light-up devil horns (I have no clue).

Line for the ladies was always ridiculously long (they need more than one main bathroom for the size of the place). Bartenders were none too friendly. Fire pits and tables out on the beach seemed cool though we weren't out there long.

Overall, just meh for me. Could be really fun, but just wasn't doing it. Oh well, there are enough bachelorettes to keep them in business for decades.

Fager's is where I got engaged, 10 years ago, so we were in OC, MD and wanted to have dinner there again. It's located on the bayside of OC, so you get a wonderful view of the sunset on the water.

Don't be alarmed, because just before sunset, they play Tchaicovsky's 1812 Overture VERY LOUDLY (you can barely talk over it), cymbals crashing and the whole thing, to accompany the sun setting. It's so funny - when we were there for our engagement, my husband asked them to turn down the music, because we didn't realize it's a tradition that they do every night. Now it just makes us laugh.

We were very pleased - they do a great job - excellent service, wonderful food and it's a beautiful, romantic setting. The place is pretty large, with several different areas - a nightclub, a long pier with smokers lurking at the end, a casual restaurant and a fine dining restaurant, with a few outside, but quite windy tables on a narrow balcony. They also have 2 hotels on the property - rather high end.

We usually do the fine dining restaurant, and kids are welcome. Our 5YO daughter was the only child upstairs, but it was noisy enough that people wouldn't have noticed if she had gotten loud herself. :)

We started with the lobster tempura - very good, but just not enough - is there ever enough lobster?!? My husband had the chilean sea bass, which was delish, and quite enormous too. I had the seafood medley - a large jumbo lump crab cake, grilled shrimp and scallops, and it was delicious too. My daughter wanted pasta with butter, but for some reason they didn't have plain pasta, at all, anywhere in the kitchen(how is that possible?), so she had cheese tortellini, which she enjoyed. We had 2 yummy desserts - a peanut butter torte which was out of this world, and a rich chocolate cake. The server accidently gave my husband the wrong glass of wine, so she brought over the correct one on the house. Very good service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Fager's, and will return there again on our next trip to OC.

Not familiar with Tchaicovsky? Check out the 1812 Overture on YouTube, make sure you turn it up! - http://www.youtube.com/w… - imagine sitting in a fine dining restaurant, on the water, with this music blaring, it's thoroughly entertaining.
