Famous Anthony's

Three times we have gotten rotten to go service from this location. First it was tasteless cold spaghetti, the second time it was a salad missing ingredients and this time today it was my husband ordering something off the menu exactly as it is titled on the menu and them giving us a different version of the same sandwich. We placed an order for the Patty Melt which comes on rye bread and they decided to give us their New Bigger Better Patty Melt which comes on Texas toast.

When we called to question why our sandwiches were not on rye we were told that "THEY" assume all patty  melt orders are for The Bigger Better Patty Melt and that WE were the ones that needed to specify what we wanted.

I say skip this location altogether and go to the one at Crystal Springs where they care about the customer getting what they ordered, plus they deliver.

The food is GREAT and above all...REASONABLE.  I am thankful we have Famous Anthony's in this town...I don't know if 'Mike' from Honolulu, knows where he was actually at, but it doesn't sound like the 'Anthonys that I,  and a lot of this town enjoys.

famous anthony's is quite simply horrible.

the food was not good - it tended to borderline on warm vs. hot with very little, if any taste.  it reminded me of the food one gets out of vending machines in gas stations.  the wait help was scattered and confused refusing to address patrons who just turned their children loose to run freely through-out the restaurant allowing no one to enjoy, or attempt to enjoy, their food.  it was a chaotic mess.

how does places like this make it?  more curiously, how do they pack-em in?  the morning i stopped by it was packed full.  i think if i ever had to go here again i'd try breakfast.  maybe that would turn out better than the lunch i had.  but then again......  

this place needs a strong manager who can put there foot down and insist on better performance and better food quality.  something better than what they are currently putting out.  this was the worse meal i had in my recent visit to roanoke.
