Fun porch with a good atmosphere and friendly waitstaff. Unfortunately I cannot recommend. The food was bad. I got the talapia which I was told was lightly breaded and it was like a board. My wife ended up eating it because her fish and chips was to fishy for her. I thought it was fine (she is not a big fish eater). My son got a tuna steak well done just to be safe. Both he and my wife got sick that night, I felt bad as well. Stick to the bottled beer. It should be safe.
Review Source:I thought Finn McCools Irish Pub was pretty "McCool". Like most Irish bars they offer pub fare such as fish and chips, sandwiches, burgers, and this place looked like they went a little beyond that and offered some Italian type dishes and more seafood than what you would typically find at at Irish pub.
I went with a friend for lunch on Memorial day and we sat out on the porch. It's away from the highway (Kings) and the beach well enough so that it is a very peaceful setting. Almost feels like your not at the beach which some people may like and others will think it feels out of place a bit. I ordered a Rueben, with the house chips. The Rueben was pretty typical. It's a good go to sandwich at a pub type place, and it worked for me here. I think the Russian dressing was home-made and they brought it out in a side container, so I thought that was a nice touch. The house made chips were A-OK, but nothing special.
I look forward to coming back to Finn McCools when I am in Myrtle again, maybe in the evening next time to check out their beer selection and night life.
